  • NO DISLIKES!!!! wow. finally.

  • I get shortness of breath when I hear you play.

  • awesome!!!

  • Beautiful playing, absolutely a fitting tribute to the great Carlitos. BTW, what is the guitar you play on the vid. Thanks!

  • @sjjasando1 Thanks, the guitar is a Cordoba 100F. It is a flamenca made with cypress.

  • I have this on a carlos LP.You make an excellent job of it also.I can almost hear ol carlos say, super dear boy..........

  • i could lession to this all night

  • nice playimg keep it up 5/5

  • man am not reli into this kinda music but that was great sounds great!

  • Thank you for the inspiration.

  • It is coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool:)

  • sorry jst read previous comments in regard to tabs. so it just leaves me to say, that was incredible, amazing tribute you are a true hero

  • Thanks, I don't even think there are Montoya tabs anywhere. The runs are very simple, just phrygian progression (Am, G, F, E). The important thing is you need to use alot of hammerons to get that Montoya feel. My Tremolo here was bad because I was missing the index finger nail.

  • amazing! did you use tabs? where did you get them from? :)

  • Great right hand technique keep it up

  • Great, excelent!!! Please tell me what brand of strings do you use in this guitar? Thx

  • Thanks!! I use LaBella Flamenco 820's.

They sound good when new but don't last very long if you play live and hard. Not that they break, but they get dull faster than other brands.

  • great!!

  • Excellent; it sounds great with the resonance on the amp.

  • thank you very much ;) its helpfull best reagards

  • awesom ..i luv it ... do you have the tab. or the music sheet ?

  • Thanks, but I just made it up. I honestly don't think I've ever seen Carlos Montoya tab anywhere. I can tell you its in the phrygian scale of Am, G, F, E.

  • I may been with Christina, But well done. Try to match the old fingers of S.

  • Viva Maria...Wonderful*******

  • How wonderful.

  • You played beautifully,CARLOS would be so proud,Carlos is irreplaceable man.

  • very nicely played! do you have a montoya tab? i haven't been able to find one... started tabbing it myself but its rough. if you tabbed it yourself, mad props. either way, share the wealth! :)

  • Hello,

Honestly I just played this piece without knowing what I was doing. The only part that has any structure is the malaguena part. The whole thing is in Am Phrygian. The tremolo is Am, G, F, E. I'm not sure where you could get Montoya tabs nowadays. I never saw any.

  • Not to say that you are not as good as montoya, but we must give credit to the original master guitarist.

  • Of course, that is why I put "tribute to Carlos Montoya" in both lines.

  • To me personally,Carlos Montoya is the greatest guitarist that ever live, definitely a personal favorite of mine and he will alway be.

  • Que bonito,muy sauve,mucho gracias amigo.

  • Beautifully done. I also will be posting more vids but the pieces I am working on are particularly difficult for me. thanks for sharing.

  • Very impressive!

    -Julie

  • The beginning of this track is very cool! But its improvised!? The original Starts at 1:23 min or not?

If you made the beginning, respect! ;O)

  • The intro is totally improvised. I just picked up the guitar and played what I remembered from listening to Carlos Montoya. I admit that beginning at 1:23 is his Malaguena but it does not follow his pattern. It really is a condensed song, I did'nt mean to play his malaguena but I always thought that was his signature song and perhaps his most memorable one.
