Man, I feel like having a party and calling anybody and everybody and we try to recreate this line. I was a baby when this came out and though I had fun in the 80s, we did not dance like this when I was coming up. They were gettin' it in and looked good doin' it too. Work!
I was the first white girl to dance on that show back in 1978...Tyrone Proctor and Lil Joe Chism (2 regluars) walked me on....and no, it didn't have ANYTHING to do with race, they let me dance...show after show.....because I could. I am SO PROUD to have had a tiny tiny part in one of the most iconic shows in history. Don Cornelius was WAAAAY ahead of his time...before BET, before MTV....there was Soul Train, every Saturday....Rest In Peace, Don Cornelius.....I am proud to have met you.
@dimpsey3: I can dance like that!!! even now 38 years later, and I am white... as for the guys moves @1Disnotscience, ha! the guys look a lot dorkier. I wonder if any of those folks' kids found them and showed this to THEIR kids "look at grannie go!" ha ha ha ha!!!
My black people there is NO other people like us and never will be.we are BEAUTIFUL we have SOUL.we have SPRIT our women are simply Beautiful, lovely sexy, desirable Black Queens..and we all can DANCE LIKE KNOW OTHERS..
love the comment i have to totally agree. Black people have made the majority of the best music in the world. As for the moves the people are busting in this video that just sums up pure rhythm and how to feel the music!
Those men's fashions were the BOMB! You could actually see what you were looking at, not hidden in a baggy mess, with their underwear butt hangin out, and walkin' like a penguin 'cause their belt is around their knees! haha, glad I don't have to date nowadays. Baggy is OK, but saggy is just stupid. Besides, the Soul Train dancers were HOT, male and female!
Hell Yes! that was how it was done back in the day! brought back so many memories! that was when people actually cared and loved each other. And drugs hit the scenes it hit like a flood destroying families. Make me wanna holler sometimes.
I use to think the way these people dance was silly but I see dance teams use some of these moves. I was a 90's person but i wish i was born in the 70s i love how these people dance!
