  • you listen to some good music!

  • ha ha i have that exact same bike

  • how come your front brake is on a right side lever?

  • "iv come to my first snag, i cant get the chain off cas im retarded."..fuckin hillarious....im off to watch the second part nyway...its a very good condition bike.!!!..i converted a bike i found that was being dumped...i love it.!!

  • you are not alone! I have a road bike just like you and i have no idea what im doing!

    lol good luck!

  • n00b

  • track bikes are actually different from fixed gear bikes. And if the guy wants to do it, then let him. If anything, the fixie movement is getting annoying because of annoying asses like yourself who think they are hot shit. You're not better than anyone buddy.

  • track bikes ARE fixed gear bikes

  • In that respect of the drive train yes, but when you look at frame geometry, frame and fork rigidity, fork flex, and the ability to have brakes (which most track bikes don't because there's no need for them on a track) there is an apparent and obvious disparity between track bikes and fixed gear road bikes. Case and point: track bikes are generally used for the track and fixed gear road bikes are used for the road. there is a difference. the fact that they are both fixed gears is just one aspect

  • Yes I agree, but you have now corrected the point I was picking up on. Now you have clarified by saying "fixed gear ROAD bike", and the track bikes don't not have brakes because there is no need for them, they don't have brakes because tracks ban them, because it is too dangerous if one bike can stop so quickly!

  • true. fixed gear bikes are track bikes.

  • buy a back wheel, buy a cog, buy a lock ring BOOM its a fixie

  • yeap thats waht my firend told me but i just want to see it on somone elses bike tho

  • see it on someones elses bike? all fixies are backwheel cog lock ring? thats what makes a fixie

  • yea if you disregard the fact that you will then need a single speed chain and therefore need to sort out the front chainrings as they will not be designed for single speed and if they are riveted onto the crank, then you'll need new cranks as well, as well as removing the gears, and shifters, and selecting an appropriate frame

  • Rivets chain ring to cranks? people do that?

  • yea, one piece cranks + chainrings are commonplace, can be drilled through but make converting awalkward, better to just buy a new one

  • awkward*

  • anybody wanna give me some advice , ive been looking everywhere....

im tring to convert my 20 inch bmx into a fixie , i found a fixed gear hub for 360 made by profile, is that the same? i think it is , but yeah was gonna get a 49t sprocket too , already got a 3piece crank , and i also need to just get a whole new back rim

  • Dude! Go anywhere on the web to get a clue on what you're doing. Takes 10 minutes and will save you lots of time. "Not sure how to remove the chain"!?!? Painful to watch.

  • "duh duh duhduhduhhhhhh!"

for that, you are my hero xD

  • 2:24 - Im not sure if the junk is actually necessary....

Classic. Been there. Love ya bro!

  • CHAIN TOOL!!!!!! under $10

  • 17 December 2008 - back to the future!

  • ah shit! good call! obvious typo....months later and i never noticed it....nice

  • LOL THIS GUY RULES!!!

  • your skills are brilliant...NOT.

It's good to see people learning about the mechanical side of bikes, I have learnt just by doing what you are doing, working with older not so valuable bikes from the 80's and 90's.

Keep it up and you'll be more like us "skilled" mechanics.

  • your videos are great/halarious when are you gonna make the fifth part?

  • Once I get back home from school..so...mid May..

  • Its the easiest thing, unless you go all out and strip all the paint and repaint it.

  • some of us don't got the guts to air our struggles.. good job jon

  • your doing ok! bet you already know but you just need a "chain tool" it pushes out the rivites. its not hard to do.

  • got pretty much the same bike and im in the same process. its REALLY easy hang tight

  • Good luck buddy lol. It's not that hard, you just need the right parts.

  • Hilarious! I ran into that first snag, too. Took it to a bike shop. Good luck. Looking fwd to the next installment.
