This happened to my dad Gary Wardropper in a Extreme Winch Challenge...... He went over backwards a few times....Glad I didn't see it.... Plasma is great till it touches a rock.....then it's hold on for dear life.
@frogtwat, maybe you should look closer, that isn't a full cage, it's only a basic rear hoop. Also, if he was wearing a proper harness he wouldn't have been able to lean into the passenger side. Don't be so quick to jump on people
@Roz31573 if you look at 4:00 it is a full cage with the A pillar bars , they look like they just collasped, whoever runs the show should look at A-pillar support bars, that shouldn't happen, look at some WRC cages

yes it had a internal roll cage. as for the event organisation, it was a outback challenge winch competition from Australia, then need challenging hills or its pointless calling it a winch challenge... Apparently this event is 1 of the biggest in Oz
Yes he was fine. (That's him steering the truck when it's being recovered from the creek!) Luckily he leaned to the passenger side as the truck went over. It could have easily been a different story especially if he'd ended up in the water on his roof.
@ejreading glad his melon is OK, long drop, LOL. that looks like a synthetic line /? I've only seen a steel cable snap once, this was pretty tame compared to that,.... this line looks like it just curled up and dropped.
