  • her official name is the one in the video, "yoojin jang." she has competed twice in the tchaikovsky competition and, though only 20 years old, is already a graduate student at new england conservatory! none of her music education was completed in korea, actually. :)

  • Fantastic performance!! I can only congratulate this young artist!!!!!!!

  • Sarasate estaría seguramente feliz por está interpretación llena de pasión e impecable interpretación de la joven y talentosa violinista coreana Yojin Chang.

  • FANTASTIC performance! :)

  • Outstanding!

  • Need to add some meat to them bones.

  • how old are you? you are very gifted. are you related to sarah chang? you sound a lot like her as well as look a bit like her. both of you are from korea. is this just a coincidence or are you two really related? good luck for your future!

  • She's so skinny :O

    But plays beautifully

  • like a ballerina, very nice!!!

  • Incredible skill for such a young girl.. she must be a slave!! Is this in north Korea? :p

  • Bravo!

  • Brilliant!

  • Brava, brava brava!

  • hard to believe two years passed since posting .... violinist a young lady now ...

  • excelent! congratulation

  • amazing! how old is she? You have to be a virtuoso to play Sarasate, this piece has a difficulty of 10 over a 10 scale.

  • SHE IS AMAZING!!! im proud to be a korean!!!! GO KOREA!!! YEAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • amazing girl....

  • Bravissima.

  • Very well !!

  • anyone who says this girl isn't talented is obviously kidding themselves.

this was a great performance of a piece that is in the top level of difficulty for the violin

if you're playing sarasate this well, you are virtuoso, end of story

  • tempo!!

  • She is very good!! Wish i can play like that! Your very talented :]

  • Beautiful performance...! thanks for the video.

  • aw that young girl can play violin, then why can't I play like that even if I am much older than her and had practised for a month?? lol just kidding

  • bad ass

  • Wonderful video, though are you sure this is not Yoo Jin Jang? She looks a lot like this famous violinist.

  • she is.. just different spelling

  • What's wrong with the way she plays? Please tell me....

  • Ow !! Amazing!!!! Mir fehlen die Worten!!!!

  • first of all, dont call me dumb,u gotta respect what other people say.second, she practises a lot,ok,i can see it,but i can also see that she's talented, cuz i know people who practise a lot and cant play.she works hard but if she werent so talented she would be playin easier things

  • of course practice is important.

but a person with talent can maybe practice for just 1 hour a day and be much better than the average person who practices 5 hours a day. now imagine if that talented person started playing 5+ hours a day, that's when greatness is achieved.

don't tell me that heifetz and menuhin got where they were JUST because that practiced a lot. many others practice as much as them, but ar nowhere near their skill level.

  • what an ignorant comment dude

  • so white people can't eat taco bell, or chinese food then. asians invented paper, so go find something else to write on. Asians also invited fireworks, so every new years, go shoot something else in the sky.

  • but like sarah chang you mean she is good because she works very hard? no!!!!!!!! she is a prodigy and she practises alot which is the reason why she can play such a complex piece when she was not even 15

  • Lonelyfive5 is actually right

To become succesfull you have to practice very much

A person without talent but with a lot of practice can become, however a person with talent but witout practice will never be good.

So shut up all idiots than think that talent is the real key to succes

  • its both that make you sucessful. no amount of argument can justify true talent. It is agreed that practice is key, but someone who is tone deaf will never play like perlman, despite any amount of practice.

  • i totally agree with you,MIcox7

  • I agree with you, practise is important, but it doesnt mutter how much you practise, if you dont have the natural talent you will get nowhere, and teh same way, if you have the menuhin gift, but you dont practise ( I mean cultivate it) you also will get nowhere so thats why teh rith mixture makes the master

  • u really have to call people idiots? i dont that that's correct, honestly.the key to success is hard work, but we all know that many people are born with special skills or talent, this girl is not anne sophie mutter, which has a huge talent, but she's really talented and she will always be better than someone else who works as hard as her but doesnt have special skills.

  • idiotic comment from lonelyfive5. she is good because she pracitses everyday? no but she is so young to play that piece. that shows tht she is a prodigy!!!!!!

  • totally pathetic

  • speakin of practice bout time u start playin that other instrument known as ure dads cock, atleast ure persistant at that one brutha,

  • how old is she she's AMAZING!!!

  • wow,no lo puedo creer!!!

  • omg i am left without words she is amazing

  • wooow!!! Incredible. :O Bravo!!!

  • BRAVO!

  • I am shivering from this lovely music. Dang this music is making me think very deeply about the world. Bravo talented musician, I'm glad I'm alive to see this kind of talent and showing the world anything is possible.

  • sin palabras... joer que envidiiia!!!

  • Es impresionante.

  • Se escucha bien!! que talento! Felicidades!!

  • this tempo and pace is perfect

  • Bravo!

  • beautiful! i saw her in a newspaper article... she said she used to read when she was supposed to be practicing (like me) :)

    BRAVI!!! (notice the plural!!!)

  • she is extremely expressive and musically mature and confident. she is a great package actually. congratulations on the beautiful performance.

  • Congratulations, Yojin Chang on your excellent performance of Sarasate's Zapateado! You are a very talented young violinist!

Your pianist is also excellent. I just wish the pianist was visible on stage with you.

I was surprised to see that people in your audience used flash photography during your performance. Usually on my concert programs, I will put a friendly reminder to refrain from flash photography during the performance.

Best wishes on all of your future performances!

  • she looks very weird???

    When she is playing

  • how old is she?

  • she's great !! but i don't think she plays with feeling

  • the feeling comes with the time... just wait

  • I disagree. I regularly teach middle schoolers, and this young girl plays extremely passionately.

  • anyway this girl is talented , even if u play a few hours per day u need to be talented to do that

  • yep i know, but not only asians, there's a kid aged 4 where i study violin&piano who has already started to study violin. i wish i had started that young

  • you are great yujin

  • man~~~ she's sosososososo~ good

  • WOW. I wish I could be that relaxed. Even when I'm sleeping I'm not that relaxed.

  • Bravo! The way she played made this very challenging piece seemingly easy...

  • why pple from asia are so freakin good at violin? i wish i was japanese or korean dude..

  • Wow thats really great!!!

    Shes very talented.

And thats rigth that she played it in a very spanish style.

    WOW......

  • this is wonderful!!!!!....^_^

  • Wow, I love this version. It's so playful in a very Spanish style. I've never heard anybody play it like this. Amazing!!
