Whoever taught this kid to shoot is actually toturing this child. Shooting should be fun but taken very seriously. 1) He was not shown how to properly lean into a high powered rifle, and actually have full control of the rifle at all times. At one time he actually drops the muzzle into the dirt. The child is intimidated by the rifle. The average viewer can clearly see that the child is least concerned about accuracy, SAFTEY, or actually hitting anything.

I don't care how big or how old a person is, their first experience with a rifle of such caliber should be at a bench. He should've been told the severity of firing off such a roundm as he obviously didn't know. he was acting/exaggerating as kids do, notice how his feet stayed put on the first shot, then got higher as he kept shooting. Teach your kid to shoot, but don't be irresponsible. You should feel ashamed for practicing such horrible gun safety and for ruining that barrel.

I have no problem with the kid shooting the thing, but the instant his front foot left the ground he should have been stopped and shown how to lean into the recoil properly.

All it would have taken was him falling on his butt and accidentally pulling the trigger for someone to have been killed. And then you have a 9 year old who has to live with the knowledge that he shot his grandpa for the rest of his life.

For all you idiots calling the G-pa a dick, let me ask you something. How in the hell is the grandson supposed to learn how to shoot an M1 unless he actually gets some trigger time? It looks to me like he was taught responsibly how to fire that weapon. He kept it pointed down range, he was told to keep his finger off the trigger until he was ready to fire and most importantly, he didn't fire all 8 rounds as fast as he could like some adults do. The kid did alright if you ask me.
