gosh ppl he is just a kid give him a break for goodness sakes it was his first time firing the Garand it is pretty heavy and it does kick but the more you practice with it the better you'll be with it not only being accurate but also to actually getting used to the weight of the rifle so like I said be more respectful he is just a little kid like 8 or 9 yrs. old with due time he'll someday be really good at it
Whoever taught this kid to shoot is actually toturing this child. Shooting should be fun but taken very seriously. 1) He was not shown how to properly lean into a high powered rifle, and actually have full control of the rifle at all times. At one time he actually drops the muzzle into the dirt. The child is intimidated by the rifle. The average viewer can clearly see that the child is least concerned about accuracy, SAFTEY, or actually hitting anything.
There's a video of his grandson shooting a bolt action .30-06 and not complaining too much, and here he's shooting a semi-automatic .30-06 and acting like he just shot a 12 gauge. Obviously he is exaggerating just a bit, everyone.
what a pussy...hes a little girl. ive seen his other videos and he thinks hes cool and acts all cocky just because hes holding a gun. and this video really makes him look like a puss.
His comment on how heavy the rifle is remindes me of when i picked up my step fathers M1 for the first time, when i was around this kids age. I could barely even shoulder the rifle, much less shoot. Now I have my own!!!
@limacharlie6 -Hey dumbass i'm 13 and You're about 9, so let me teach you a little bit about firearms,so if u pay attention he's holding the 30-6 by his bicep so u would be in pain too if u didn't know how to hold one like this kid and no shell ever hit him,it was the en bloc clip +it was the recoil that hurt him because he was holding it wrong...
@MumbleMyCat Hey you can go down to a rifle range and ask if your able to shoot while under supervision on a fully licence shooter thats what i did but i live in australia so maybe diff to you
Lucky... All I can fire a bolt action or single shot rifles or semi auto .22 rifles... no hand guns, semi auto or full auto... blast the UK gun laws... You guys are lucky :D
@bayreese1 dude this grandfather does the right thing if a man is gonna make it in the world he's gotts be tough so this is good way for him to fight in the real world not ur fairy faggot pussy land
Good teaching, except in the beginning he should have had that barrel pointed CLEAR at the ground. Very dangerous to have a kid whose never fired that before pointing it skyward. He could shoot himself by accident.
i have watched a good deal of your videos. nice collection i have to say and also your grandson is a trooper.i wish i could have fired that many different guns at that age. props man.
dude your grandsons a pussy ive shot an m1 garand and i didnt wine like a little bitch and you should have told him the clip ejects after the last round
i was at a gun range and a guy let me shoot a 8 round clip. now i want one but they are like 1500 bucks. what is the cheapest you can get one? the gun that is.
he wasnt standing properly you should have your front leg bent and back leg strait not tryin to be rude just some advise cause im an expert on ww2 weapons
I don't care how big or how old a person is, their first experience with a rifle of such caliber should be at a bench. He should've been told the severity of firing off such a roundm as he obviously didn't know. he was acting/exaggerating as kids do, notice how his feet stayed put on the first shot, then got higher as he kept shooting. Teach your kid to shoot, but don't be irresponsible. You should feel ashamed for practicing such horrible gun safety and for ruining that barrel.
I have no problem with the kid shooting the thing, but the instant his front foot left the ground he should have been stopped and shown how to lean into the recoil properly.
All it would have taken was him falling on his butt and accidentally pulling the trigger for someone to have been killed. And then you have a 9 year old who has to live with the knowledge that he shot his grandpa for the rest of his life.
For all you idiots calling the G-pa a dick, let me ask you something. How in the hell is the grandson supposed to learn how to shoot an M1 unless he actually gets some trigger time? It looks to me like he was taught responsibly how to fire that weapon. He kept it pointed down range, he was told to keep his finger off the trigger until he was ready to fire and most importantly, he didn't fire all 8 rounds as fast as he could like some adults do. The kid did alright if you ask me.
The recoil is already too much for him so why asking him to fire the whole magazine ? Especialy with what he's wearing, not exactly the type of clothes I would have on when firing a rifle.
tell him to leeeean into it a little more next time. i know if i had to shoot a rifle that large at the age of ~10 i would've been knocked back quite far as well.
This is not safe handling of a rifle. He could have seriously injured himself. I don't find this kid hurting his arm and being forced to shoot more rounds amusing. Yeah, I see why there needs to be some gun control in this country!
Nice job there, gramps. No training, no instruction, just proud that ol' junior is a "real man!" and can handle more than a .22. What's the point, here? I'm as big of a firearms fanatic as anyone here but this is just dumb.
thats what my dad did i got a little ful of my self when i was about that age maybe younger all i remember was firing my grandpas M1 Garand D he told me to pull the trigger as fast as i could and i did lol is all i can say to that
@nosaltadded no this is how country people role im 11 and i shoot guns like that infact we have one of the most responsible parenting i just hope like my dad he taught his kid the rules of owning a gun.so u need to rethink mr.i know it all crap.

@nosaltadded yeah it is definitely irresponsible to educate your child on how to use a gun responsibly and not just hand him a video game and let him sign up for the army and find out for himself when he is blown up by an IED.
@hiroko934 Get guns off the street so that way people can rob you, step on your lawn, break into your house, kidnap your children... you can prevent all of that with a gun.
