I read recently that Ben Flajnik will be the next Bachelor. I couldn't watch Ben every week - yawn, yawn. Of course, this was the first season I have ever watched and missed a lot of the episodes at the beginning. It wasn't until my Mom told me how much she loved JP that I started watching.

Ben's mom and sister are ice princesses and weren't sincere in their welcome to Ashley. Of course, she chose JP after the wonderful reception she received from his family.

@ALRS1993 Ben said one too many times that if his mom and sister didn't like Ashley, or any girl, it was over. Yeah it was nice that they liked her but his comments about it being effortless just said it all. No relationship is always going to be effortless. He never had to make any effort and didn't seem prepared to. I do think Ashley made the right choice. She may have been good for Ben but I think Ashley and JP are good for each other.

I lost my Dad in 2003, and can relate with how much that can take out of you. Like Ben, I was very close to my Dad and had a great relationship. He and my Mom also had a great marriage, and I'm also closer than ever to my Mom too.

I think Ben definitely came out the best from his father's passing. His mom and sister seemed to have shut down their ability to be open and willing to care about anyone else. Whereas Ben is a very loving man who wants his relationship to model his parents'. I suppose he is the only man left and they don't want to lose him as well if he moves away and such, but still, what makes Ben happy should make them happy too.

I feel Ben has really become a more mature, honest, sexy man. He has really opened up and with that mixed feelings between his dad&ashley, he's like a really real, honest man. That always mean a lot when a person treats family as a priority and at the same time be that real, caring guy. But with this new emotional Ben, I hope he will be okay at the end(telling himself that he's already given himself out there) kinda like JP's approach if he's not the one for Ashley. I wish him all the best.
