@jessicarc14 She did - Manha de Carnival, forinstance, sung live on one of her tv shows. She recorded a Brazilian song, Bom Dia, on the '68 Dusty Definitely LP, but translated into English by her then girlfriend Norma Tanega. Pity neither is on YouTube as they are beautiful :(
She also recorded an English language version of this, called 'I Will Always Want You', which is one of her finest ever recordings, absolutely brilliant.
@GuessTheCrowd According to the Complete Dusty "bible" (Paul Howe) she struggled with the english version (recorded a year later in 1966) with that last note (coincidentally missed off this upload) and they had to splice two takes together simply because she was exhausted by the end. She was also a little off with a slighlty slower tempo and a little behind the beat compared to this Italian version. No problem with this earlier version recorded in 1965 - the greatest vocal performance ever!
@tinker1960 I would add that I listened down the years to loads of great music from Rock, Pop, Solo artists from 1960's music right through to present. No-one but no one comes close to Dusty Springfield (at least 1960's version) as an artist of incomparable magnetism. She has and one of the great voices but it's more than that and I never tire of listening to that voice and watching her performances. This particular performance blows my mind every time...only Hendrix comes close
Each time I see this video la canzone mi piace piu, and each time more and more extraordinary the voice of Dusty, whose intepretation is, as say the friend who has shared it whit us, magistrale. ¡What a voice, pour une tres charmant chanson!
Belisimo, Prima, hey this Italian lingo's not bad once you get stuck in, Dusty, you could sing in Martian and it would still be great. R.I.P lass Ray♥ X X X
why she didn't sing in portuguese? not fair... :(

I am American and my world doesn't revolve around it. I much prefer U.K. artists, films and BBC programming. Dusty has no peers.

Something about how she sings this makes me think of Anna Magnani ... magnificent, raw, PASSION!
I don't know why she failed to win at San Remo with this song!

Often, especially today, we, italians, wonder about winning hits in Sanremo...

Hm.. I think SHE was the real winner when she sang 'Io che non vivo' in English :)
