For every insult Terry gives Lester on this part of the episode right before the grandparents come, Lester should smile and say to him, "You'll get yours, Ter! You'll get yours!" He holds up a script for that day's show and says, "It says so on page 14!"
WHY did Frankie leave the show, I loved him. never saw it after he left. Changing a main character probably helped put an end to the show. it was a good show tho. very clever and unusual and funny
I remember watching it as a kid. It came on Sunday nights, 7 or 8 I think? Oh the crush I had on Brigid Brannagh at the time (credited here as Brigid Conely Walsh), the actress who played the daughter. Can't remember if Roc replaced it or joined it in the lineup? Both were great series. Thanks for sharing this with us. :D
Roc premiered in 1991, whereas True Colors was cancelled in 1992. I can't recall if Roc ever moved into a time slot prevously occupied by True Colors (both shows were moved around the Fox schedule several times during their run); it's highly possible.
@thislost I stand corrected. You're right. He replaced Frankie Faison as the father , but I cannot help to wonder if his illness helped to hasten the demise of the show.
The grandmother, Nancy Walker was also suffering from lung cancer as well and died the same year.
3:12 - 3:17 I can see Ron sarcastically going, "Good idea, son!"

I used to have a huge crush on Claude Brooks.
Good show, but it jumped the shark early due to the untimely illness/ death of Cleavon Little.

Great show, should have been on the air for at least four or five seasons. But it only lasted two seasons on Fox.
