  • @MAKER6450 not for vert but if youre talkin street, he invented nearly every trick. If you watch someone play SKATE at least 90% of the tricks he made

  • this dude has mad flow

  • Back when public domain came out everybody called no complys barbee shove its. Now when I bust one at the park all the kids say wow you know how to no comply and I firmly educate them on the greatness of ray barbee and how they should indeed call it a barbee shove it. That's my 2 cents!

  • Ray is the nicest dude I've ever meet. I meet him at stoner park and had a conversation with him for like 15 minutes

  • What tricks did ray barbee invent ????

  • @MrDoMiniCanPrinCe881 probably none...majority of tricks were invented by rodney mullen. like at 3:43 he does kickflip 50-50 180, he probably means stuff like that, he didnt invent the kickflip, 50-50, or 180, but there were probably little to no people around doing stuff like that...

  • @TheChipAndSkip mullen did not invent the majority of the tricks.

he did invent alot....but not most

  • hes skates at my local park in LBC. what a G

  • he should be on krooked, right beside gonz...that would be the day man

  • Punched

  • steve cabellero looked small hehe

  • @ 3:00 Judo footplant 180?! Fuck me that's awesome

  • Wait...is Epicly Later'd a skateboarding only show? I've had it for a few months on the Aux channel, but haven't checked it out. I will now! This was great!

  • dude had mad board control.

  • remember having his the firm pro model board

    cool guy ,cool goy

  • what a legend

  • so smooth from back in the day

  • bigspins.. so stylish

  • @TheRombo4 so smooth from back in the day

  • @MrJmcgui6 im only 12 and still one of my fave tricks is no comply

  • patrick o'dell is sexy!

  • I skated with Ray and Lance on the Firm tour in Colorado in the late 90's. I lost my "Friends of the Firm" shirt they gave me. Ray is super-nice. He has a perma-smile.

  • @EvaFangoria sorry..not late 90's, more like mid. That's what happens when you get older, and have not skated for many years. Everything just get's lumped together.

  • when it shows the part about public domain they spelt his name barbie

  • he makes it looks so fun hes a beast

  • what happened to skaters like ray?

  • still ride RB deck sometimes

  • GOOD STUFF!

  • what a cool guy! i wouldn't ask him for a sticker or anything... i'd just hang back and say "whoa...! that's ray barbee..!"

  • tre flips on oldschool decks no fucking way thats so sick

  • Ray is a Bichin skater! Thankyou Ray for teaching me shoveits and big spins on Ban This.

  • Huh... go figure. I met this guy a few times through mutual friends. He sat in on a jam with us at Cal- Arts. I had no idea who he was. Just seemed like a cool dude into music. That's how people should be, man.

  • Living Legend !!!!

  • Barbie so nice to see you in venice beach today ,i hope to see you another time ..thanks

  • I had his board with that voodoo doll with the cards. Brings back great memories. I could do those no comply 360 shove its.

  • i love all the old school shit, Powell,Bones brigade hell yeah!! Barbee is the man!!

  • 36 years

  • how old is he?

  • im pretty sure hes in his 30s or late 20s

  • Na, late 30s maybe early 40s

  • yeah probably in his 30s

  • @Monkaymin late 20s you have no idea what your talking about first ten seconds he's in ban this in 89 and he's like 12

  • @brrnay he started skating when he was 12 (he says he was in 7th grade) and in the beginning of ban this he says he started 6 years before, so he must've been 17 or 18 in that video.

  • @useless987 don't really remember what the post was even about, but i think your wrong, but i don't care. pretty sure some dude asked how old he was now and someone said twenties.

  • @brrnay uh, ok, I thought you were talking about his age then :D my mistake!

  • barbee might look like someone who's just enjoying skating.. but you can see that he's thought a lot about skateboarding and how things are now.

  • ray barbee is the man! His skating was so fluid and natural. He's a legend with the greats: Matt Hensley and Natas. He was doing no comply 360 shove its when everyone was just wacking their bags.. Truely a legend

  • old chet thomas is funny

  • Ray, Mullen, The H-Street videos (Matt Hensely mainly) and Brian Lotti were the absolute shit in the late 80s early 90s. They were doing shit nobody had ever seen before. To this day in my opinion Rays part in Ban just skating down the sidewalk is the smoothest, most stylish, skating I've ever seen.

  • everytime i watch anythin bout ray barbee it make me forget da mainstream commercial bullshit bout skating nowadayz n crooz

  • you are the best ray

  • heslooks so chill

  • He has to be the nicest guy in the world.

  • I remember renting the "Ban This" tape and thinking "I want to skate just like that guy". Nothing pretentious about him.

  • he first pro board I ever had was Ray Barbee's Powell one with the ragdoll sitting on the fire hydrant....

    i still ride this board!

  • He gave me his board on wesc camp in linköping ;)

  • rays so sick

  • by the way i absolutely love his music. fascinating!

  • i think he has the biggest feet in profesional skating... size 13 shoes :)

  • I got a size 12

  • nahh, brian andersons got 13s too. and i do too.

  • haha yea i actually knew that... i wear 12 or 13's too.. i was just "giving ray a nickname" i guess haha

  • an inspiration!

  • he pushes and rides like Jacob sooo bad

  • jacob who walder?

  • yea lol

  • does anyone remember his amateur 411 profile video? back in the day?

  • @tbrais i dont remember his amature part in 411 but i remember him in 411 #26 i think...he was on a road trip and doing music gigs too.

  • is that elvis presly at 3:51

  • lol

  • wow

  • Ahhhhh the good ol days.

  • the spot that he heelflips at 0:48 is insane that bank is big and has huge cracks down the whole thing

so i give ray barbee so much props for that

  • this proves that you dont have to wear tight jeans and small shirts to skate :) and this is why he is a legend

  • is patrick wearin a joy division shirt?

  • i'm gonna sound like a total poser saying this, but what's it called when he just spins around? goes from reg to fakie.

  • revert

  • 180? or a sex change? or a shov it? idk what ur trying to ask

  • he has an original style, i reapeat NO ONE is like him

  • rippin the gnar gnar

  • woah ray plays jazz on the same guitar as me

  • WTF a fuckin tre flip on that board ? O.o

  • 1. Die.

    2. If that doesn't work, try 1 again.

  • lool

  • crazy good style

  • at 4:54 that is my old high school, John Burroughs. its been remodled since then and now it looks nothing like that

  • my dad takes care of his aunts feet because my dads a podiatrist

  • 4:43 is fucking stylish as hell

  • The Ray Barbee "Hydrant" deck was my 1st too... awesome. I still have it but it's all scratched up from me being a little kid & scratching it up on purpose to pretend I was good at grinds LOL - I gotta find a mint version of that deck again one day

  • awesome shit!!!

  • Haha, Ray is so sick. And i LOOOOOV the trick at like 3:00 or sumtin'

  • jamie thomas is with zero and mike v isnt anymore

  • It's true element gets hated on too much and they have an alright team but their whole vibe is like... lets just make a shitload of board graphics and not even put that much thought into them.

  • i agree man. everybody LOVES to give element shit because its the "poser" brand. but i mean if u look at the real talent in the team like past the big names (muska, bam, etc) ull find that element really does have a diverse team. most of the best dudes are either am, flows or like the euro dudes

  • true because they arent posers theyre just skaters having fun enjoying their lives and getting paid for it

  • he needs to leave element, and get with a better team.

i met him, and he is realy cool.

    he liked my jimi shirt.

  • hell yea...

    him and stanton :D

  • chocolate

  • @NoslemProductions Element is an ok team.. They are lucky to have him, he's lucky to be on Element too.

  • @NoslemProductions he signed my board today!

  • i think he should have a signiature board coz hes pro but he doesnt have his own board wats up with that?

  • on sk8 2 hes got a signature board, but it mite just be 4 the game. probs not but mayb.

  • Dang his style and consistency for back then (and now) is fuckin good

  • i saw him today 2 get real

  • sick

  • can't say it any better than rktsncalnc

  • :D

    jammin with mattson 2
