The answer lies on the exact opposite side. At the same time as this strange-looking feature starts being visible, the very bright planet Venus enters the HI2-B field-of-view from the lower left. Venus and the feature stay in step almost exactly opposite each other across the middle of the detector. The strange looking geometrical "object" is actually an internal reflection of the planet Venus within the telescope optics.

They use a wide angles lens, so the waves curving to the right in the image may actually be curving to the left out in space, coming out roughly uniformly from the sun in a spherical wavefront.

What's happening is that Venus is illuminating something inside the HI2 camera, that thing is reflecting in the lens and is recorded in the image.

Whatever it is it does not appear to be a camera artifact, such an argument is lazy at best. The object is moving at a great deal of speed. It does appear to be at great distance from the camera and we all know how massive the sun is so it seems to be freakin huge. It looks artificial, it consists of sharp geometric shapes like two pyramids connected at the base, like a diamond almost with a large tube where the bases would meet. If it is a sort of classified telescope I sure would want to know.
