  • Nice simple drink, thank you for posting.

I'd like to share an idea - I make smoothies every day also with bananas, Superfood powders, nuts & seeds, & veggies. My tip: when nice large leaved parsley is on sale, I buy two bunches, remove large stem & wash leaves in ice water in a bowl for five minutes & dry w paper towels (save for later use); bag them & place in freezer - they last for weeks to use quickly every day. I do this with all my veggies now; kale lasts the longest. Go raw every day.

  • @trumpsahead Thank you so much for sharing this idea. For people living in sub zero winter zones, tips like these are vital. I live in sub tropics so am inexperienced in that area. Great stuff! xx

  • I just bought my first batch of spirulina, that stuff sticks to everything, best thing is in the blender I reckon ;)

  • @bluesdog88 I've only ever used it in the blender.... bet you're right! xx

  • I just peel them and put them in a container and freeze them. Sometimes I have to jimmy them apart with a strong knife but usually I can prise them apart with my fingers. Great in summer! xx

  • never seen a young coconut before, but this smoothie sounds scrumptious. I didn't know you could freeze bananas either, so thanx for the info :) any special preparation needed for freezing them?

  • Sure is... xx

  • Jenny sorry have a question about the coconuts, the only ones I have available are from coles/safeway, they are young thai coconuts, so does that mean they are iradiated aand treated with formaldehyde? Should they be avoided?

  • @bluesdog88 Hi! No they aren't irradiated or formaldehyded but they aren't pure either. This was posted by a forum member recently:

I had a look at AQIS quarantine requirements and the treatment for young green coconuts is:

    Methyl bromide

    Treatment T9030

The Methyl Bromide rate required is 32g/m³ for 2 hours at 21ºC and above at Normal Atmospheric Pressure (NAP).

    INFO on gas:

Bromomethane, commonly known as methyl bromide, is an organobromine compound with formula

    To be continued...

  • @bluesdog88 CH3Br. This colorless, odorless, nonflammable gas is produced both industrially and particularly biologically. It is a recognized ozone-depleting chemical. It was used extensively as a pesticide until being phased out by most countries in the early 2000s.

  • @RawPleasureAustralia Thanks for the reply, I guess the gist is to keep away from those!! Can you get them up your way?

  • @bluesdog88 Yeah we can. They're growing on the Gold Coast now which is extraordinary! If you know some stores around your area who might be interested Luke from Sunrise Coconuts dot com dot au sells fresh coconuts but only in lots of around 200. xx

  • @RawPleasureAustralia LOL Thanks, wow, thats a lot of coconuts ;)

  • Wouldn't chewing it a lot be better than guzzling? At least for better digestion?

  • @tennisknight Absolutely! Mix in that saliva for increased digestion. Thank you... xx

  • @pinkbeam Yes there's one about halfway between the northern end of the Gold Coast and Brissy. Love it! xx

  • Where did you get that massive glass? I've been looking & looking for one.

  • @pinkbeam Ikea. I've bought a few vases from there that I use as glasses. This is the best so far. I think it was only about $3 or $4. Awesome! I also use old jars that people donate to me because they know I love them. xx

  • i'm definitely going to try this recipe. thanks for sharing.

  • @majoshlin You're welcome. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do! xx

  • Wow I was gonna say it looks great, certainly looks healthy lol, I think I've seen something similar in a Taubmans Paint catalogue LOL Seriously, that looks good, I have found so many varying price differences, made in India, made in China, cell wall broken, what do us Aussies get?

  • @bluesdog88 Haha! It tastes amazing! Yes prices vary incredibly from country to country. It's amazing! xxx

  • @RawPleasureAustralia Do you guys sell it? I couldn't find it on your website ;) Nice savings on the vitamixes though...

  • @bluesdog88 I'm sorry, do we sell what? Vita-mix? Yes, if you go to raw shop >> Appliances >> Blenders they're in there. Or something else? xx
