Custom firmware is pretty much just hacking your PSP.

@Greviousfloop custom firmware is custom software, or well lets call it custom made windows.

firmware on psp is what windows is on pc, custom os (operating system which is what it can also be called) makes it so that the block thats supposed to stop you from playing non licensed material is removed.

the license detector is gone and we get the abillity to use fan-made stuff.
