Still I cant leave I must find him, you fool of a horse cant you see? Well i might be half man but the other half's devil and you're just exactly like me!
Chris & Charlie were great together on several tunes. I miss Chris, He's probably teaching St Peter how to ride bareback. With John Wayne and Lane Frost cheering on.
I have a friend that does a cover of this song and I love it he does those mexican cords on his guitar and its a little bit faster but it is wonderful to here him play this song .
I have both albums, Chris' album in 1971, Charlie's in 1974. The album by Chris was released 3 years prior to Charlie's. The reason no-one heard it before Charlie was at that time, Chris was only selling records in the western states as he travelled to the rodeos. He had a following with the rodeo crowd, but CHarlie released it nationally in 74.
I was going to say... the song is about a stallion, a male horse.... that would be Caballo Diablo. Caballa would be a mare, a female horse.... good grief, if you're gonna post something in the name of Chris LeDoux, the least you could do is check the spelling
Charlie had it on his Fire on The Mountain album that came out in 1974. Charlie wrote the song and was the first to record it. Chris was a great entertainer for sure. Let this put to rest any BS about this song.
No it was not done originally with Charlie Daniels. The original was him alone. I used to listen to it when I was young. I had the album. Nowhere on this video does it say Charlie Daniels wrote it so get over it
Actually, I googled Who wrote Caballo Diablo. The results came back Caballo Diablo lyrics written by Chris Tomlin recorded by Chris LeDoux. I was listening to this song when I was only 8 or 9 years old and am now 44. Time flies.
Chris Tomlin? I think you better recheck your search engine. I think it has a serious misfire. Charlie wrote the song and released it in 1974 or 75 on the Fird On the Mountain album. Chris Ledoux did not record it first.
The original was done by Chris alone. The chorus was as follows: They call him Caballo Diablo. Half horse half devil they say. Caballo Diablo the outlaw, cast your wild restless spirit my way.
Chris will never be forgoten as long I'm alive. My dad travled with him when he was still redeoing. I grew up listening to the old eight tracks he put out. My fav song from Chris is Hokay key lakotta. Them bare back horese are the only thing that make my arm hurt and make ur bell ring. Long live Chris.
On March 9th I'm asking all Chris LeDoux fans to call their radio stations to request his music. Let radio know that we will NEVER forget this great man.
I'm so sorry it did not work for you. Maybe you need a NEW radio station to listen to.I chatted to Mark Sissel of W.U. & he said some stations were playing LeDoux ALL DAY!!!! Try for next maybe.
Also Google Who was the original recorder of Caballo Diablo. A page pops up with 20 of Chris's original songs. He's been recording since 1971. I was born in '64. So I guess I was 7 when I was listening to him. I was also learning to barrel race. He was my rodeo hero. I actually started dipping tobacco just to be like him lol. I stopped though.
who in there right mind would dislike this song who ever it was your are a huge dis-grace to humanity
