  • who in there right mind would dislike this song who ever it was your are a huge dis-grace to humanity

  • I have an idea for a movie that is entirely baised on this song. It could be a hit to all country movie lovers.

  • this is a song that will send a chill up your spine.....

  • Ya gotta love it.

  • Caught my 12 yo listening to my Ledoux collection. Made me smile.

  • sure enuff....there's a typo....the it reads now is "mackerel Devil ".....just doesn't have the same ooompf !

  • yeah boy! gets me fired up and ready to show my gaited horse

  • Still I cant leave I must find him, you fool of a horse cant you see? Well i might be half man but the other half's devil and you're just exactly like me!

  • I love this song! Everytime I hear it I get pumped up as hell.

  • Excellent team work! Sent goose bumps and chills over my skin.Such a shame Chris is gone.

  • RIP Chris!! I love this song :)

  • love it!

  • Song Name: Caballo Diablo

    Artist Name: Chris LeDoux

Album: Life as a Rodeo Man

    Songwriter(s): Charlie Daniels

    Release Date: January 1, 1975

    Label: Liberty

  • Def- Not forgetten, but will always be remembered in the western frontier.

    BH Rodeo Co. AZ

  • Chris & Charlie were great together on several tunes. I miss Chris, He's probably teaching St Peter how to ride bareback. With John Wayne and Lane Frost cheering on.

  • There's a typo -- the title and the name is "Caballo Diablo", not "caballa"

  • @marzolian and that's why I couldn't f'n find it.

  • @marzolian haha doesn caballa mean *female horse*

  • @jFNstran no thats a llegua

  • @jFNstran yes it does. the song says caballo

  • Rest in peace Bro! Gone but not forgotten....'

  • yah boy

  • I have never heard it ever done with Charlie Daniels I have an old Chris LeDoux cd with this on it

  • I love this!

  • I have a friend that does a cover of this song and I love it he does those mexican cords on his guitar and its a little bit faster but it is wonderful to here him play this song .

  • So technically, Chris released it first, But then again the first national release was Charlie Daniels.

  • I have both albums, Chris' album in 1971, Charlie's in 1974. The album by Chris was released 3 years prior to Charlie's. The reason no-one heard it before Charlie was at that time, Chris was only selling records in the western states as he travelled to the rodeos. He had a following with the rodeo crowd, but CHarlie released it nationally in 74.

  • Wow, For chris.

  • I was going to say... the song is about a stallion, a male horse.... that would be Caballo Diablo. Caballa would be a mare, a female horse.... good grief, if you're gonna post something in the name of Chris LeDoux, the least you could do is check the spelling

  • @stephaniedawngreen you are right

  • Charlie had it on his Fire on The Mountain album that came out in 1974. Charlie wrote the song and was the first to record it. Chris was a great entertainer for sure. Let this put to rest any BS about this song.

  • No it was not done originally with Charlie Daniels. The original was him alone. I used to listen to it when I was young. I had the album. Nowhere on this video does it say Charlie Daniels wrote it so get over it

  • Actually, I googled Who wrote Caballo Diablo. The results came back Caballo Diablo lyrics written by Chris Tomlin recorded by Chris LeDoux. I was listening to this song when I was only 8 or 9 years old and am now 44. Time flies.

  • Chris Tomlin? I think you better recheck your search engine. I think it has a serious misfire. Charlie wrote the song and released it in 1974 or 75 on the Fird On the Mountain album. Chris Ledoux did not record it first.

  • Chris Tomlin is a christian music singer lol

  • The original was done by Chris alone. The chorus was as follows: They call him Caballo Diablo. Half horse half devil they say. Caballo Diablo the outlaw, cast your wild restless spirit my way.

  • Technically the original was done by Charlie Daniels

  • You say HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL-I say George Strait

You say KEVIN JONAS -I say Kenny Chesney

You say SNOOP DOG- I say Brad Paisley

You say BRITNEY SPEARS- I say Brooks & Dunn

You say SOULJA BOY- I say Chris LeDoux

You say T-Pain- I say Taylor Swift!

You say (C)RAP- I say Country!

you say POP- I say Yee Haw.!

92% of teens have turned to pop and rap,

if your one the 8% who like listening to country then peace copy and paste to 3 videos

  • Lights of amarillo are glowin there in the distance

I'm knowin Chris is somewhere there listenen

    TVR love you always bro

  • The best of the best.

    The baddest of the bad.

    The king of the cowboys.

Rides in the big rodeo in the sky,

Good ride cowboy. Your missed Chris.

  • Amen brother, I cried the day he died. Chris is real country. Nowa days, that's so hard to find.

  • Chris will never be forgoten as long I'm alive. My dad travled with him when he was still redeoing. I grew up listening to the old eight tracks he put out. My fav song from Chris is Hokay key lakotta. Them bare back horese are the only thing that make my arm hurt and make ur bell ring. Long live Chris.

  • Amen.

  • On March 9th I'm asking all Chris LeDoux fans to call their radio stations to request his music. Let radio know that we will NEVER forget this great man.

    10-02-1948------03-09-2005

    R.I.P. Chris

  • i did and get this, they told me they didnt have any chris ledoux tracks at all!!!!! i was so pissed.

  • I'm so sorry it did not work for you. Maybe you need a NEW radio station to listen to.I chatted to Mark Sissel of W.U. & he said some stations were playing LeDoux ALL DAY!!!! Try for next maybe.

  • Who better to do a song like this than Chris Ledoux?! Him and Ian Tyson damnshore cowboy know what they're singing! Thanks fer posting!

  • I think with just Chris is the best.

  • i used to love this song when i was little

  • Chris knows how to sing em!

    Go Chris!

  • Rest in peace Chris. This song rocks and so does TCDB. Chris Ledooux is not forgotten.

  • The original with out charlie daniels been is better but this one still good thanks for loading it up

  • I have to disagree. I think Charlie's version without Chris is the best of all the versions.

  • Also Google Who was the original recorder of Caballo Diablo. A page pops up with 20 of Chris's original songs. He's been recording since 1971. I was born in '64. So I guess I was 7 when I was listening to him. I was also learning to barrel race. He was my rodeo hero. I actually started dipping tobacco just to be like him lol. I stopped though.
