I was at this--had wandered around the park all weekend following rumors the Dead were gonna play for free for their 20th anniversary...and two of them did show up for a smokin' set with Merl, John, etc....wish I hadn't lent my tape of it to somebody who never gave it back 20 yrs. ago...

I was there - it was awesome and scorching hot.! Probably the only time in my life I got a sunburn in San Francisco. John's "batman" shirt had blue bats and later that night he also played on Haight in the club next to the bowling alley. The whole day was just awesome!! thanks for sharing!!!!!

Oh those were the days! So glad for being born in San Francisco & growing up in the Bay Area. I went to the city every weekend in the 60's & as much as I had time to thru the 80's.
