  • sounds like a train

  • @vivamexicochemo Your mentally disabled you really are

  • @SmokinJoeification Rofl, tell me about it :P

  • NOLAN STOP MIND FUCKING ME!!

  • No I didn't see anything. This clip just sucks

  • Wasn't a secret that Zimmer used her song as the base for his theme. Look it up

  • @Whatisright Zimmer never hid the fact when he discussed the score, but this video was made before those interviews. NOW: you could easily look it up and find his quotes.

  • i dont ge it? what was the new music?

  • idk if you noticed but the classic was used in the movie also....idk....but it was obvious

  • Sorry didn't mean tht, great vid

  • It gives me the impression that H. Zimmer uses very particular motives when is creating his soundtracks, at least when working with C. Nolan.

    For example:

1-In the intro music piece from Batman begins there is a subtle bat wing-flapping motif.

2-In TDK intro we hear the same motif but interrupted by a creepy tune like "something bad is comming" wich is eventually the main theme of the Joker.

  • Clever clever' hams zimmer

  • NAWWWWWWWWWW! Thats what she said! =P

  • Marion Cotillard, pas Marion Coutard, inculte.

  • @BaMargera57 You're right. my bad. I should edit my description but I kind of find it funny. I'll see if its still funny when i'm sober. But thanks for making me aware.

  • Mister Zimmer was, is and will be a genius thief.

  • MIND BLOWN

  • i dont get it?

  • @TheOverkill112 The theme for inception is the kick music slowed down.

    A song within a song.

  • @Stewie457 SONGCEPTION

  • A dream within a dream results in a track within a track... nice...

  • i think Ariadne is also the name of a woman in a myth who said she could weave better than some goddess. they had a competition and as punishment for losing she was made into a spider. lots of secrets in the making of inception. just about every name is connected to their part in the movie

  • Well, also have to notice that his dead wife, is the one playing Edith Piaf in la vie en rose! Freaky

  • @Marthehahaha I know! I thought I was the only one who thought that :P

  • We need to go deeper.

  • @grgzrgzrg That's what she said...Lulz

  • Hate to burst your bubbles but Hans Zimmer didn't acctually do Mind Heist (the trailer song)

  • Omg!!!!!

  • Oh snap thats pretty cool

  • Guess nobody noticed that when it's slowed down that it sounds like the train that they got hit by.

  • i just love the Inception soundtrack

    chills chills chills!!!!!!!!

  • I knew this the instant I heard it. Basically in the dream state the mind processes faster while in thr real life it's normal. This causes a lapse in time. So in the dream you hear the song slowed down. Notice how in the move when the guy puts the headphones on the dreamer and the song plays then in the dream they hear it slowed like in this vid. Its common sense lol

  • Genius.

  • Where can i fins that part of the song? What track is it? Its not the main theme whens its just thw duuun duuuuuuunn duuuun :p

  • This scares me

  • Hans zimmer is a god damn genius all his music is Fucking EPIC if you don't like none of his productions you should jump off the nearest bridge you Fucking POSERS!!!!!!

  • They did this because that score written is what edith piafs sound would sound like while your sleeping, apparently when we sleep our brain recognizes it in super slow, so hence when cobb and he's team hear ediths song its the main score from how we hear in our dreams

  • Hans FUCKING GENIUS Zimmer!

  • nolan confirmed this apparently, him and zimmer went to france to get 2 notes from the master recording of non regrettorien

  • Second time inception blew my mind....

  • kinda haunting.

  • now go listen to stairway to heaven backwards

  • It's just fucking awesome. No other words to describe it. Didn't realise it until I saw this vid, and I have Edith Piaf in my playlist. Mind = blown!

  • So it's a song withing a song? Songception....

  • This is brilliant

  • BTW, I'm amazed how many ppl responded to this video and have been listed as spam. Please note, even a negative comment should not be considered spam. Advertising Penis pumps- spam. Having a bad attitude- not spam. Sorry to those unfairly called spam.

  • Yes, Hans Zimmer is a Genius. No Doubt. He should rank with Bernard Herman with his scores.

  • In wich track of the soundtrack does this exactly appear?

  • oh and if you google hans zimmer ny times inception

the first article that comes up is (poorly written but) interesting

  • i just did this. it’s slowed down exactly 100%

  • That's why Hans Zimmer is a genius! Time passes by slower in dream mode, so it was an absolutely logical decision! And after all, it sounds just so epic, doesn't it?!! All those low notes, sworming in, making your entire body shake and propelling you to the next level! They had to go deeper....

  • Is it just me, or is this song really creepy sounding?

  • @ColorMeMime Yeahh its like the song from insidious

  • Boom. You just blew my mind.

  • oh dude this just keeps getting deeper....

    Curioser and curioser.

  • 22 people hate Hans Zimmer.

  • 22 hate Hans Zimmer.

  • i noticed that the first time hear this song in the movie, (the scene where they are in the train), down in the dream it plays more slowly and we hear exactly that typical inception sound. So it makes perfect sence the song to play slower in the dream since time there runs more slowly coz of the faster brain activity while sleeping.

  • @Ablaze8802 No offence, but I'm calling bullshit on that one. The VERY first time you saw this movie you noticed this? No way.

  • Comment removed

  • @ReallyBigJump Nah, what i meant was that the train scene was the first time we hear Edith Piaf's song in the movie. I didn't realized that, what we heard in the dream was a slower version of it. But it makes sence and i really like that idea. Even the smallest details of the movie have purpose. :)

  • Comment removed

  • they did that on purpuse shit head

  • It just means that he was in a very deep level of dream ! The more the dream is deep, the more the song will be slowed.

  • OHISEEWHATYOUDIDTHERE

  • Can someone explain it to me? I dont get it!

  • Crazy credits for

    Inception (2010)

At the end of the credits Edith Piaf's "Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien" plays at normal speed, then slows down to the speed it was at the beginning of the film during Hans Zimmer's score and throughout the movie. Then we see the title stop in the center of the screen as the song ends.

    This was found at imdb.com.

  • Holy crap. Amazing. Creepy.

I hope they make a sequel to this movie, and make it if not as good, better.

  • Closely listen to an Inception dvd made before the January 8th Tucson shooting, especially during the dialogue, "Do It."

  • Wow. that`s incredibly creepy and well spotted. I always though that low `horn` I thought it was, sounded strange, but never linked the two.

  • got it..they used the "jaws" sound track mixed in great dectective work ...haha

  • So ingenious, a regular person probably wouldn't have noticed this AT ALL.

  • Now I love this movie even more.

  • I can't believe this guy is getting credit for something he did not do.

  • @japorms318 it's not a secret, he openly based this off her song. get a clue.

  • @TheUbertuberist "it's not a secret, he openly based this off her song. get a clue." what? you get a clue cause I don't understand how your reply has anything to do with my previous comment.

  • @japorms318 He clearly got permission.

  • @Stippm - the music in the beginning is actually the music which is played for the kick (slowed down)...which goes hand and hand with time slowing down

  • I did not understand....

  • Am I the only one who heard this while it was actually happening? I distinctly remember thinking: "Oh, hah, it's the song they're listening to, but slowed down. Clever."

  • the composer for the score of inception based his songs off of the song by Edith Piaf, that's why this is.

  • wow that's awesome and genius!

  • Well, its kinda obvious, since during the whole movie this music is being played to sign when kicks are supposed to happen. And since in the dream world everything is slower, this is what the dreamers hear.

But very clever what Hans did there.

  • wait.... people didn't get that?

  • So then what does the Inception Theme sound like sped up?

  • This was already explained in the movie.

  • @TheSteelStallion when? i watched it again yesterday and dont remember them sayin that

  • @TheSteelStallion Well it's explained that time seems slower inside their dreams and this song is playing when they wake. The opening bars of the song are slower which results in the strong heavy trumpet sounds as they're about to wake.

  • I knew that it was that song too lol

  • Dude, it's logical, in a dream the real world influences are slower, that's what Hans Zimmer used, that makes him the genius

  • yes and if you play it backwards theres a great recipe for soup... :D

  • DEAR GOD SHIVERRRRRRING!!!!!!!!!

  • Hanz Zimmer is a genious

  • Wait so what's the discovery? I'm not being sarcastic, i really dont know >< someon reply thank s

  • @animemachinex3 since time is slowed down in the dreams so the song is slowed down too, they are listening to that song for the kick

  • @animemachinex3 When the lyrics are taken out of the song and it is slowed down it is the musical que of the movie.Play the beginning and the end of the video right after each other.Youll hear it.

  • When you think about it... this is the perfect video to do one of those cheap scare tactics when a picture of a demon like thing pops up with a horrific scream.

I absolutely hate those videos... don't do it.

Just saying, if you were in to that kind of thing... this would be the time to do it.

  • @KillerMosquito36732 Thanks for the idea

  • i am gonna give u a kick,right now

  • That is cool.

  • I've fallen asleep with the radio on, and early in the morning some of the songs will be in my dream, and none have been slowed down. They're always recognizeable.

  • @Yahonathan your not deep enough in your dreams

  • Also Hans Zimmer said it in a couple of interviews that he used it and slowed it down.

  • It wasn't exactly hidden. The lyrics from the song are in the OST too.

  • It's quite how this is actually used in the movie. (Not the Hans Zimmer music) And it makes perfect sense since they use the music as a signal for the kick but because they are deeper within the dream it's slowed down enough to sound like what we are hearing. Hiding right before our eyes, or should I say *Puts on Glasses* Ears. YEAAAAAAAAAA-

  • Hans Zimmer and Christopher Nolan are a lot smarter than we can imagine!

  • So wait.. basically, we're in the dream, watching a movie. I would say my mind was blown, but I think it was already blown when I watched the movie in the first place.

  • WOW.5 min ago I read about, that Hans Zimmer said, this song was his inspiration,I couln't believe how,but now I know why.Thank you :) Hans Zimmer is very smart!

  • Well obviously its the song slowed down there is more time in a dream therefore in the dream it would sound like that

  • This music will give me nightmares one day. Bloody hell it's freaky when slowed down..... :/ :P

  • unless you just went on imdb and read up on it (it is there....i'm that fucking sad i read the trivia), then good ear!

  • Lol the slowed down the original song it sounded freaky

  • This is nothing special, cuz of course the dreamers here that song in the dream in slow motion.

  • isn't that the point though? because if that's the musical cue that the dreamers hear, it should be the slowed down version of what they're hearing in real life...

  • I don't understand what they did?? A song within a song?

  • i see wat u did there

  • no but i hear it.

  • Hans Zimmer is a genius :)

  • *BROOOM* !

  • No shit sherlock

  • thats kinda freaky

  • Is it a dream yes or not ?? I'm becoming crazy !

  • That's pretty darn cool actually :P

  • Non, Je ne regrette rien =no i regret nothing, it might ex plane why they chose this song because of it background and why it was created

  • WOOOW! Haha, what a clever idea! Nolan is a genius!

  • Yup."Wake Me Up!", "Wake Me Up!"

  • 0_0 OH MY GOSH I DID NOT NOTICE THAT

  • I'm so fucked up right now and htis music is freakin me out

  • Ha. Very clever. Music within music.

    But it's not enough.

    We need to go deeper.

  • @Verminator4 Veryy Deeper !

  • @Verminator4 i lol'ed at that comment.

  • @Verminator4 Maybe the words non, je ne regrette rien backwards means something..

    neir etterger en ej non.

near etter ger en ej non

near etter gir in edge none

maybe shift the positioning of etter and gir

    near getter in edge none

    mean anything to anyone?

  • @therandomexample non, je ne regrette rien is "No, I Regret Nothing" from French to English, which kind of has a split meaning in Inception. Arthur uses it as the musical countdown, but it could also be something pertaining to Mal.

  • interesting bit about Ariadne. on the marion cotillard thing: christopher nolan directly stated that there is no connection between her and that movie in Inception

  • it's Marion Cotillard not Coutard

  • genius of Zimmer...slows the alarm music down for the score, like time slows down in the dreams

  • ooooo, not your video....

  • ass kick

  • ass kick

  • Ellen Page is a total babe.

  • i read this one in wikipedia

  • woooow amazing discovery!!!

how much free time you have?? lol

  • @Nicolitax Oh your that guy, pretentious fuck

  • @Nicolitax

Because it takes so much free time to recognize a famous song in a movie. Actually, the OP didn't even make this video... well, either way, you're still a retard.

  • @Nicolitax whoa how much do you have surfing this shit and leaving comments?

  • @Nicolitax whoa how much time do you surfing this shit and leaving comments?

  • How did you discover that?

    Cheers

  • @jsteinray At about 13 minutes, when the 2nd dream is ending and it plays music so they know it's ending, he plays that music in the real world, and it sounds like the theme music in the dream world.

  • @rockaroundtheclock56 after Shutter Island, I'd agree with you, but actually Inception is pretty cool. I've seen it 4 times in less than 48 hrs (trying to make the most of my 2-day rental), and I think it's worth watching at least twice. First time is just to keep up, the second time is to catch all the little stuff. Enjoy.

  • It sounds creepy slowed down O.o

  • @rockaroundtheclock56 Are you kidding me!?! Usually DiCaprio's films are BETTER than what they seem!

  • Awesome!

  • **To the Inception cast and crew: You guys did an amazing job on this movie!!**

  • @rockaroundtheclock56 It is DEFINITELY worth watching. Go and watch Inception! It's an awesome movie!! :)

  • :O

  • Wow, genius! Thanks for sharing this video :D haha I thought there had to be yet another interesting reason why they picked that song.

  • that's so cool!

  • cool

  • sweet........ go hans zimmer :)

  • Scaaarryyyy~~~

  • omigod that is SO cool. I knew that the music was slowed down in the dream state, but I never realized this was the actual theme song...brilliant.

  • of course its a slowed down version its explained that way since the peoples brains are working much faser

  • hans zimmer did not intend to "hide" this, since u are revealing this right?? he based the fanfare from this song WHICH IS FREAKIN ANNOYING THAT A LOT OF MOVIES ARE STARTING TO USE ZIMMER'S TROMBONES THAT SOUND A LOT LIKE THIS...but anyways if u notice when the person is hearing piaf's song inside the dream, it sounds a lot like this..but yea i kno this is not ur original post but just thought ill tell u that thanks for tellin us sumthin that hans zimmer already told us

  • and notice that Marion Cotillard (Mal) played Edith Piaf in the movie La Vie En Rose in 2007

  • I've been re-watching Inception for just the musical cues, and that base line at some tempo is used throughout almost every piece in the movie. Just to show you the genius pf Hans Zimmer....
