perhaps he rapped off the top and placed them or the camera man did, since that is the crux. just started climbing this year, climbing grade 22 on sport routes. 27 on trad is insane!

if you had ever been on the route you would know that cleaning this route is f***ing hard work. So no-one bothers cleaning it between each try.

Bold assumption. I can post pics of the proper way to climb the crack, if you like. I think what people are getting at, is if you hang dog the route, then go again on pre-placed gear, it's not an ascent. Simple as that. Best to keep the camera in the bag until you can climb it properly.
