daves alternate picking from 3:10-3:19 is actually really good! usually he uses more hammer ons/pull offs for that section. his soloing chops have improved lately. he may not be the greatest or fastest lead player, but his solos are exactly what thrash solos should be...angry,powerful,and classic metal shredding.

the older stuff is "thrash" metal --- Megadeth's secret sauce on Peace Sells was the Jazz influences that Poland and Gar brought with them - this version sounds very tight because it's close to the original ...notice how the drumming is different than That One Night or Rude Awakening.

Their secret sauce on Killing was also the jazz influence. Gar was an unbelievable jazz drummer. Rock was pretty micky mouse to him, but he mastered it of course. Chris was also a great guitarist. I think this is the best live performance since, well, Menza was drumming.
