A carbon filter can be hung on straps above your lights when the stank air floats up it gets cleaned...you dont necisarily have to have the air even leave the room. It will just keep filtering it..as long as the fans strong enough to get all the rooms air through it in a reasonable time the smell never has a chance to accumulate...
@ScottJG21 sure they could. but then again, what good is it if they decide to talk in chinese, because so many people in the world talk chinese? do you get my point? the videas are done to serve as many people worldwide as possible. and not all speak or udnerstand one language. btw: do you understand the comment just below from "man1192803"?
not trolling as well! you have very valid points! but the language thing is a big problem.
@Fullflightshooter: an "activated carbon filter" should do the job. look for quality brands. the cheap ones are not loaded right, so that the carbon filling is having air holes where the odor can pass without being filtered. also, you need to watch humidity. cheap filters stop filtering properly at about 65% rel. humidity, good filters at about 75%. the water plugs up the pores.
this is for pros...all this and metal halide hps. lamps..plus huge energy.. cant imagine a squirrel cage fan is cheap to run either but.. i understand the outcome is great with a good set up
@afakasiguy : as it is set up it is meant to filter the air that is sucked out of the growroom. to stop odor, pollen or insects from spreading. you can also install it in front of an intake fan to filter the air that is blown into the growroom.
@FullMetalMullet : it would be put inbetween the filter and the fan, with extra tubing. that way you also protect the lamp and electrics with the filter from being covered with dust and other dirt.
at the filter in the video, we already have a "clamp" attached. that clamp holds together the filter and fan (or filter + tubing + fan). it must be screwed very tight.
there is another tube at the bottom of each ventilation panel. every modular shape has 3 ventilation panels. you can make an easy passive intake with about 1-2m lighttight ducting put into this tube.
bro i have just bought a xxl homebox and i really need to know what those fasteners are called and where i can find them,i need them to hold up my filter.thanx
now i see you point. sorry, i thought you meant where to put the electric plug of the cooltube/light. In the Modular, you have always multiple venting ports, so the others can be used for the cooltubes. but, yes, if you only want to use 1 ventilation system, you need to add the cooltube between the filter and the fan. thank you for the hint.
actually I wouldn`t put it between the filter and the fan. I would add the tube behind the fan, so that the fan doesn`t suck the hot air from the bulb. Your fan will thank you with a longer life.
You need 2 fans 1 in and one out. I would like to recommend for every growroom with mor as 2m² surface 2 vents.

Is the filter enough for odor,or must I install the hose out of the room?
TheStricko 1 year ago
a good filter is enouhg.
but it must be a high quality filter.
cheap filters often stop filtering properly at humidity levels above 65%.
they are not appropriate.

So you would say an air sock isnt suitable?
wl6309 1 year ago
?? air sock is also a carbon filter,or?
i think i saw that in action before, and it was suitable.

well you said cheap and air socks, are cheap! so its ok?

where can i buy the straps?
ic300x 2 years ago
@ic300x they are coming with every homebox.
if you need them seperately, we sell the straps together with the roof poles with hooks as spareparts in most countries already. ask your local store.

What provide for passive intake? are there flaps at the bottom? If there are... are they "light tight"?

Cool set up. Can i ask, do those filters really hide the smell and if so how well??
robtang10304 2 years ago
depends on the quality of the filter. and, above approx 80% rel. humidity, no filter can absorb smell any more.
but in general: yes, these filters do work, and filter out all small.
