  • Its Resin not HD plastic

  • A bit of advice: NEVER tap the nib like your did to your fountain pens. You are shortening the lifespan of your fountain pens. I know you feel "disgusted" about using ball points, but truth be told the way you write is similar to how you write with a ball point and you are writing too hard.

  • French say it Mong Blong but we speak English.

  • Nice review. I have to say I like the montblanc better as it seems more substantial. On a side note, the nibs seem obnoxiously large and yellow gold ain't my thing

  • it's pronounced "mong blong", not "mont blank". and jamming that nib onto a hard surface is probably not a good idea

  • Mont Blanc is pronounced Mont "blangk" you have to accentuate the vowel.

  • @TheOriginalStevenH thnx i hadnt known.

  • @TheOriginalStevenH I think Montblanc should be written as just one word; not separated.

  • Thanks for the review, however I agree with the two guys below, Pelikan M1000 is the Pelikan counterpart of the Montblanc 149. Both are top pens of their regular series.

  • Both are great pen companies, and this was a nice little demo. But like the guy below me said, a more valid comparison would be between the 149 and the Pelikan 1000 (or possiby the 800). The Montblanc 149 is still one of my top pens and I use it almost daily.

  • It's a shame you don't have the newer m200, it has a gold trim at the blind cap like the MontBlanc does. Either way, the m200 isn't really meant to be compared to a 149 because the Pelikan equivalent is the m1000
