I want to learn all of the Scandinavian languages. Thus far," jeg taler meget lit dansk."
From what I am hearing of Norsk (I listen to the Pimsleur's Norsk CD from time to time), it sounds incredibly Dutch (?). A lot of "Sh" sounds. For instance, Undskyld, is pronounced with a heavy "SH" and sounds more like "unschell," whilst in Dansk it is pronounced "unskool" but spelled the same. I use to think Dansk sounded beautiful and Norsk was harsh but now methinks not.
She is just so cool as she teaches this, but I still cannot get my phonics and pronounciations correct to sound like her. I have enough trouble with English as a Canadien francophon, but this is really tough. I have to admire her ability to speak such clear English and also be a native Norge speaker.
Karin, are there rules about 's' being either [sh] or [s]? I noticed that you pronounce the 's' in 'forstår' & 'Norsk' with the [sh] sound. Is that only in the eastern dialect you speak, or is the [sh] also used in the other dialects?
My Norwegian grandma said 'Vær så god' with the [sh].
Also, what about the word "det." I know that the 't' is silent at the end, but some Norwegians seem to simply say 'de' while others seem to be adding something like an 'ah' sound, thereby sounding like 'de-ah.
@SetisX81 no you are from romania. dont wanna sound racist but is it a coincidence that you're going to work to Scandinavia instead of ...i dont know...turkey? dont think so pal. There is almost a million romanians in Spain and about a couple of hundred thousand here in the UK. Just saying...
I really wish I could get my hands on a norwegian person :/ Georgia sucks for international affairs. Fuck the south! Jeg onsker til laer norsk! (probably got that wrong, and I don't have the cool o with a cross through it for the oo sound)
OMG you are SOOO soo pretty, and the vid was instructional yet pleasantly. So I'm going to spend the next moment or so hitting the "like" button over n over again, then I'm going to have me an absolutely delicious bowl of cereal. :)
Hvor i norge bor du? Do you have a Bergen / Oslo / Tromso accent? Jeg vil gjerne vet for naa jeg reise til oslo i september. Alt for laere norsk!! :o) x
WOW, Swedish and Norwegian and Danish and some of the nearby countries are very very much similar at their language, i can speak German, and i can say that you Sweden and Norwegian people can understand every word that you say to each other, but German has a little words that are similar to your's, i have sisters and they speak Swedish and i can't understande a word what they are saying... just when i really carefully listen... but i want to learn Swedish or Norwegian, i think Norwegian is cuter
Hey girl, this video is very helpful. My wife's sister is learning Norvegian and have to go to Norway so she found your lesson veeeeery useful. Greetings from Serbia
well actually the norwegian R is quite simple for us Spanish speakers.. it´s almost rolled.. and the constructions are almost like in English i had a huge headache trying to learn French lol

You remind me of the Pimsleur Norwegian lessons! some of the first few lessons teach you what you said(except some expresions :) )! Anyway, its nice you posted something new! too bad I don't have with who to practice. What is funny is that when you speak slow is easy to understand, but when you go norwegian mode, its like a turbo button been pressed:)! like a slow train that turns to a TGV:)! takk igjen Corina (the way we say your name in my country). Har en god dagg! lykke til a du ogsa.

Fact of the day for norway's national day. norwegians have the highest number of one night sexual encounters of any country in the world. Karin, the girl doing this video, admitted that she sleeps with different guys all of the time. Typical norwegian.
