funnily enough I used to pwned wth pichu, id use either thunder followed with a mid air "up" attack or his upward throw followed by the same. It cause a skyward KO about 80% of the time

My favorite optional character is miedly from wind waker. I liked using a character that could fly in zelda (and she had the mirror shield before link did), not something you could really do in the zelda games before that isn't considered warping. Least favorite? Definitely tingle from wind waker. If you connected the GBA, you could annoy the person playing windwaker by pausing the game and yelling HEY!

Big was awful, but he only appeared in 3 games . Amy, however, is constantly shoehorned in and she's always the worst character. In Advance, she was slow and couldn't go in a ball. Advance 3, most of the combos involvin her brought so many disadvantages it wasn't worth it. Sonic Adventure 1 her levels were boring, and she had even fewer stages than Big. Heroes... that was a BAD game, and she headed the weakest and most annoying team. Big is a worse character, but Amy sucks more consistantly.

Not to sound like a die hard fanboy or anything but pichu was my favorite melee character. He was quick which helped me get in plenty of hits seeing as how no one could catch me. As far as damaging himself I don't know what sakurai was thinking...he didn't damage himself in gold/silver. As far as the game goes pichu is a machine of destruction when utilized correctly I'm still angry they dropped him from brawl. I'm just saying pichu is a really good character if you know how to use him.

I can see what melee was trying to do with pichu. because Pichu can actually hurt itself with very powerful electrical attacks. true no one really used it except for the hardcore Pokemon fans who wants to make it more difficult for them. I don't mean to nitpick, but I really don't feel like most of these should count. In a game where all characters are optional, or where you have to play as all the characters to complete the game...then they aren't really optional. Optional should mean that you either can play the game without getting access to the character at all, or where you have access but their game mode does not contribute to any kind of "perfect ending". Racing and fighting really shouldn't count unless it's unlockable.

Pichu actually has stronger electric attacks than Pikachu! Sure Pikachu's still better, if you waste attacks, miss and get hit all the time. If you get good at hitting consistently with Pichus attacks and dodging then he is way better than Pikachu.

What I remember about Pichu is that it's a baby Pokemon so it's not as strong as Pikachu, and I believe the thing about it taking damage from it's own electric attacks is referred to as a trait in the Pokedex, meaning that Nintendo was just being accurate. I also know that Melee was made back when the Gold & Silver Pokemon were introduced and Pichu was one of the more popular new ones, but they probably could have thought of someone better.

I was thinking of making my own list, but you got some of my favorites and least favorites on this list, too. I love Knuckles, Lupus is cool, and Big the Cat is the only thing I don't look forward to in Sonic Adventure. But back to Knuckles, have you played Knuckles in Sonic 2? He's practically a cheat in that game. All you have to do is climb walls until you get to a high point in the level and then glide over the hazards.
