  • Those guitar players are the best dancers in guitar player history...

  • They are still so many jealous people of Elvis out there, and I can see why, after 34 years he still must have it all for so many people being so jealous of him. He is the Greatest entertainer ever, and always will remain the best "Artist of all Music". Presley had it all and still has it all, the whole package.

  • i always loved these moves... best string-players in history...

  • Try Waylon Jennings version.....

  • Elvis did a pretty good cover of this song as well.

  • Waar is deze groep gebleven, zoooo goed !!!

  • love that fancy footwork

  • how good were the fine young cannibals, great voice, underestimated, with great songs, classic, brings back so many memories

  • y tambien la voz de fondo a coro de Jimmy somerville,¿no la escuchais?.

  • A GREAT cover of my favorite Elvis song.....Long live the King and the Fine Young Cannibals.

  • @ScottACNohea: This is my favorite Elvis song too!

  • LIKE

  • Good and soulful the King would approve.

  • the dancing

  • Epic!!!

  • High energy, great dance moves...Steele and Cox were amazing...

  • 61 viewers are obviously, shall we say, mentally challenged..:)

  • Das ist unfassbar geil. Ich wusste immer, dass FYC genial sind, aber das ist der Hammer.

Mich juckt es den Song direkt noch mal aufzunehmen.

  • ShoWWWWWWW

  • wow i love you

  • nuff said

  • oh how I love the dance moves of the bass player *.*

  • off to ebay, one raw and the cooked cd please

  • This is ridiculous.... I can't even take this seriously. Why do so many people like this cover? ...

  • @HaleysHeresat Because it's excellent music arranged and performed excellently. You obviously have no taste.

  • @Baritone45 "Because it's excellent music arranged ... cellently. That is the point, the arrangement is exactly the same as on Elvis' groove. When a cover contains little or no creativity, it becomes parody, or worse, kareoke. This seems to be parody.

  • @RonBeam bullshit, this is not a parody, FYC are one of the greatest 80s bands ever

  • @Conkyisaliveandwell Oh, my comment doesn't imply that they lack great talent, in any sense. I am just stating that by covering the Elvis hit with little modification (the brass licks are identical - might be the original tracks,) they could have a parody in mind or perhaps, simply a straight homage to the King. It certainly is not a brilliantly creative cover, in any respect.

  • @Baritone45 Word!!!

  • @HaleysHeresat because its awesome!

  • Guitarist (w/ the cool Fender Mustang) does one of the best One-Legged Butt Wiggles evar.

  • better than the original even

  • Really a great band, great singer, great musicians

Sad that they disappeared so quickly

  • They ruined the song...

  • @borocajarana

    Yes dear

    Any other problems?

  • @borocajarana No, they didn't. I'm not a big fan of reproductions, but this was big time classy. Being an English Beat fan may have had something to do with it...

  • Beautiful

  • best version of this tune ever recorded

  • LOL the urban legend was blair and mandy sang this at number 10? Well, given the elvis following, brave cover and a good one too! FYC, we miss ya and the style you put into so much music.

  • love this cover... and the both on guitar and bass are just incredible... maybe they are a kind of godfathers of jump-style...

  • only cover I have ever liked of this song, great vocals- both lead and backing, excellent big band spector kind of sound.

  • Best version ever

  • An excellent cover of one of Elvis' last hits. This version is not just good, it's better.

  • @ih8kit B. S. no one could ever do that song like Presley or any other song except one and that was Del Shannon "Runaway".

  • It was originally a Mark James song. Elvis Presley never wrote a single song in his whole career.

  • Fine Young Cannibals did an excellent job on the Elvis Presley classic.

  • 2:01 Noh! Noh! NO-HO-OHH!

  • Love the Smiths-y guitar!

  • bad ass....always loved this one

  • AWSOME:)

  • Good stuff here!

  • Gee, after almost 30 yrs., it's still an entertaining video. I watched Roland on Highlander and I think he's had music in the last two years or so. The other Davids are still music producers, etc. Just fun to see them again, silly as it may be, a good cover.

  • @shelterpet its one of the most brilliant choreographed music vids ever, still looks cool and slick nearly 30 years later.

  • Awesome cover! Might even be a little better than the original.

  • straordinaria!!

  • best cover since the king

  • @bailey06ish WTF are you on crack???? dwight yoakam did it 50 times better. This guy is trying too hard and it sucks, Im 24 and i know this

  • @DFGeyser2 If you're 24 you probably don't know very much.

  • Elvis would have liked this too.

  • Takes....embellishes.......extends......one of the greatest cover-versions ever......IMHO

  • genius

  • brilliant voice, everything about the group was class!!!

  • one of them dances like a twat

  • this was a great great version, really good..

  • Eta canibalzinho que canta pra cacete.

  • Cara, essa música é muito foda

nossa, só Deus sabe o que sinto quando ouço ela

    demais

  • Amo esse grupo e essa música!

  • A really great cover...

  • Who else thinks of this when the David Cameron 'we can't go on like this' poster is displayed somewhere?

Blame Dara O'Braian and Mock The Week!

  • With all the respect this is better than the origin.

  • @timtak - Totally agree, The prettiest man I have ever seen!

  • WOOOOOOOW! I love this song and the Power!!

    Better that F..king Great!!!

  • not too take away from the king, but Elvis' version was too slow. This song sounds much better with a faster tempo.

  • how big is his mouth!!

  • Easy to root out the Elvis fans in here :) BTW this is better then the Elvis version by far.

  • @snowfox73 Also easy to root out those who are jealous of Elvis. ;D

  • this is possibly the worst cover in history....

  • @magneto44 elvis was good. but get over your self this is a great cover

  • @the69removalist get over myself? whatever, I know bad music when I hear it :)

  • Damn i'm a regular! Cant get enough of this song..... This and Elvis version!

  • oops my bad i meant the beat

  • now i remember ! the lead singer is from the band "english beat"

  • @kokanee2010a

roland gift(the lead singer) wasn't in the beat dave cox and andy steele were

  • Fine Young Cannibals was just a great group. :)

  • people actually like this?!?!?!?!?

  • @magneto44 people don't?!

  • @magneto44

Fine Young Cannibals took a piss poor american singers version and gave it a superior English makeover :-)

  • @TheYeltzman Lol, I like your irony.

  • @TheYeltzman Yes, FYC did remake, and its excellent, but Elvis sold more copies of this record versus FYC combined career; just figure I would point that out.

  • @billboze

Yes I know- Elvis was a great singer. My comment was meant in jest! Both are great versions.

  • é meu.

  • So Great (Homage à Elvis Presley) kiss for your familly

  • @TECKMASSE what a lovely thing to say

  • Toll

  • Great!!!

  • Great cover!...and putting Jimmy Somerville on bkgd vocals was genius.

  • I agree with the general opinion here: one of the best covers ever. I think the King himself would have approved. If you like good covers, check out Stereophonics take on Rod Stewart's Handbags and Gladrags, Kurt Nilsen"s interpretation of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah, and Shinedown's tribute to Lynyrd Skynrd's Simple Man. Enjoy.

  • I am not crazy about remakes of classic songs but this remake is great. Love it. Roland's voice is perfect for this song.

  • who was the backing singer sounds like JIMMY SOMMERVILLE

  • Conheci esta música pelos FNC e acabei sabendo que era do Elvis, mas gosto mesmo da versão do FNC e principalmente da dancinha dos guitarrista e do baixista. A do EP é mais para o lado romântico e do FNC para a alegria.

  • was great to see them in hull 1989 after their usa tour.

  • The background vocals are really cool. Sounds like the guy from the Bronski Beat.

  • @jschrei62 - that's because it IS Jimmy Sommerville from Bronski Beat!

  • @jschrei62 Spot on.

  • what the fuck r u guys on when u say he has the greatest voice ever.....u gotta b half deaf.....i only checked this vid out cuz a friend told me to check out this insane vid.lol

  • @whitemoose17 Eat a dick, whitey.

  • @NationalSoundImage after u baby

  • FYC are UNDERRATED. Great band with a diverse and engaging sound.

  • @fishman017 by diverse , you mean fag right ?

  • @poopeedoolarroo get over your self faggot... poopeedoo, what a real macho tag the only fag here is you....

  • I like Elvis... I like FYC in 'good thing'... wait maybe Elvis would of sang that song even cooler!! :) (don't like this re-make of Suspicious Mind 'cause that's probably my fav's Elvis song)

  • i love it, love it, love it.

  • Are you serious? I came to this to expect all these comments ratting out how shithouse this cover is. It sounds like some fucking bad pub bands singing on an over 40s night.

  • @bindoggus This group is from the 80's lol I dont know what you expect lol, the have a loyal follwing, and either you love em or hate em.

  • @secksivn That's for sure. I didn't know this cover was done by the FYC. Kind of disappointing because I like thier song She Drives Me Crazy.

  • @bindoggus They could have been a one hit wonder with it....its the only one by them that I like.....

  • We're caught in a tarp!

  • WE LOVE THE F.Y.C. !!! AND ESPECIALLY THIS SONG !

  • this band was so unique, they had there own sound and everything.

  • The guitar players look like such knobs dancing around....spooky :)

  • the singer reminds me a bit of Mike Tyson..

  • Bons tempos que não voltam mais, apenas ficam guardados em lugares que podemos recordar.

  • C 'est nul!!!!!!

  • this man can sing

  • Dwight Yoakum does a good rendition of this song too!

  • But why screw up the video with the banner at the top of the screen?

  • @birddoc47 maybe because everything is damn free and we don't seem to realize that?

  • @birddoc47 You can turn it off by clicking the caption box icon under the video.

  • @vanillajombi Thanks. My bad. :p

  • Wow i love this, and the leg moves well wow x

  • @Ladyjaysstudio Yeah This Rendition Kicks Major Asssssss...Another Good Cover is by My Morning Jacket.

A Bit Slower, But Very Moody & Haunting.......

  • Wow i love the leg moves just so very cool. just fab x

  • Best Non-Elvis Ever!!!!!

  • just love his voice, wish jimmy summerville would tiss off as a backing singer.

  • One of the first CD's I ever bought.

  • We had fun in the 80's

  • 5 STAR..

  • Perfect music ....

  • So much better than the original

  • This man has a very special, unique voice. He is also one of the most attractive men that ever lived. It is a great shame that we did not hear more of him.

  • @timtak1

After breaking up the band he started an acting carreer. The best movie he did was "My beautifull Laundrette"

  • @SHBlacky

I liked the film. Shame his acting career did not last a little longer.

  • just a brilliant cover' dare I say better than the original?

  • Comment removed

  • Anyway about Elvis,

his manager that tramp, he just influenced Elvis to much, you know, that kind of things wich creates this song, only for the money, he

what a cunt manager, typicly, he

  • i dont know but the end is a bit lame

  • It's rare to see a band cover a song and do it justice

  • I was based in Germany in the mid eighties and was watching a German music awards show one night and FYC were on there as was Matt Bianco. The lead singer from Matt Bianco was very well turned out and was very into his appearance. in the end MB won the award over FYC but as he went up to get the award the guy with the crazy legs from FYC hit him in the face with a custard pie and the MB guy went mad and head butted crazy legs and followed it up with some good punches. Anyone see it?

  • @swarveBo: Hi from Germany ! If you tell me the name of this "German music awards" show i might remember - though i must say that i don´t favour too crazy behaviour in public between more or less gay/bisexual people. Matt Bianco had one or two catchy hit singles, but what is that compared to what FYC did with 2 albums which were justifiedly world successes. I was a DJ in a retraining centre in Heidelberg in 1988/89 + you should have seen girls+boys packed on the dancefloor when i put on FYC.

  • 80s wow fab vinnie and mtv

  • feckin brill

  • one of the finest ever!!!

  • This is the best Cover of this song.

  • @BIGINSF Doubt it..Elvis pulled it off way better

  • @naytch2003: My god, it´s a cover version - and a very cool one. Elvis performed it because of being despaired of his failed marriage with Priscilla + i also loved his original version. Do we all not know what brought Elvis into despair ?

  • @MrSKINFLICK Wrong, the song is from 1969 when elvis was very happy with priscilla. They were divorced in 1972.

And then he sang always on mind and seperate ways.

  • @melkiemelkie:Okay, i am not familiar with every stage of Elvis´ private life.I don´t know if he was still so "happy" with Priscilla in 1969. But it tells me a lot that they got divorced three years later. I also would not dare to judge Priscilla or anyone else for the their failed marriage +it is not my business, too. Fact IS that Elvis had a huge drug problem+also a problem with wrong food. But i keep my conviction that the marriage must have been in a kind of crisis - for what else THIS song?

  • @MrSKINFLICK So all of his songs is his life-story?

  • @melkiemelkie: Lots of what artists do or perform has much to do with their life, of course.

  • @melkiemelkie rhanks buddy for the right version of the story! cheers bro in 69 Elvis was very happy with his wife Priscilla! :

  • @MrSKINFLICK no buddy Elvis recorded it because it was given to him by producer chip moman when he was doing his comeback to making music! the song recorded first by singer/songwrier Mark James but it flopped before Elvis recorded it a year later in 1969! This song has nothing to do with Elvis private life! His marriage to Priscilla was pretty fine during the time he recorded the song.. cheers m8 :)

  • Sorry but this song was made famous by the King and nobody can do it like Elvis does...they try but just can't hold a candle to him.

  • @faithmairee Shut, Up

  • Me and 3 friends used to mime to this in one of our local nightclubs,(free beer) people used to love it,

FYC was a great band, (very underrated)

  • i think elvis would have liked this version :)

  • Anyone know how to play the bass line? I've got part of it, but, as usual, it's hard, even after years of ear training, to make it out exactly in some places.

In fact, if you are a bass player and want to gang up please get in touch. The more the better, bass players of the world unite! Let's help each other learn.

babur ('89 Japanese Fender P, maple neck)

  • I absolutely loved the 12" version of this and played the hell out of it when it came out but it was a total bitch to use. The intro changed BPMs all over the place.

  • key of awesome..... tis only superstition.... happy april fools day from the irish

  • This has got to be one of the greatest covers ever. Roland Gift has such an incredible voice.

  • @musicguru1970 GREATEST COVER EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @wawdmn00 How right you are

  • @quidly259 not many get away with cover versions, but this is one of the best!

  • @wawdmn00 The greatest cover ever Is Stevie ray vaughns cover of Little wing by hendrix
