  • 1989-fishbone,peppers,janes addiction, urban dance squad. Rock was finally back after the 80's.

  • Rage against the who? these guys rock it still.

  • Ah, it was actually a mix from bomb the bass - megablast 1988 that was worked into X2M.

  • Starts with the tune from Xenon 2 Megablast on the amiga, I wonder who inspired who? ;-D

  • This track is still a killer 22 years after!

  • Not sure why I haven't checked this out before! The memories! The Astoria - 1990 I think? Massive stage invasion - best gig I ever went to!!!!!

  • dope never seen the vid, class crew

think i allso saw ice t in it

  • Flea was there!

  • Wow - haven't seen this clip in nearly 20 years - awesome song!

  • It´s amazing how limp bizkit have copied a lot of bands. Including this one. And yes, This rocks!

  • is that Flea at 1:40 ?

  • Yeah these years were astonishing with bands like UDS, 24-7 Spyz, Limbomaniacs and all the other crossover bands... Not very far from Fishbone neh ?

  • was the singer that black kid that got kicked out of new kids on the block?

  • Flea!

  • Dutch proud

  • Hollands Glorie !

  • I love how rudeboy dances..

  • 1:47 all the fuckin' groove...

  • ratm was the greatest of this genre

  • @ratmaslove but UDS came first. If you don't think RATM were inspired by UDS, listen to Good Grief

  • @inorbit30 Good Grief was released in 1994, RATM were already starting to get big then. Prior to that, UDS' sound was much closer to Fishbone and old RHCP. Not dissing them though, UDS are great, and one of the originals, but they are not *the* original by any means.

  • @anrothardonn Didn't know Good Grief was released in 94. Thanks. Personally I was well into 89's Mental floss for the globe' with this track and 'famous when your dead'. Not saying they are 'the original' just a definite pioneer of that early rock/hip hop/funk fusion sound and a very likely influence on RATM.

  • A GREAT band ahead of thir time. In Italy, In the city of BOLOGNA a good band called DISCIPLINATHA took after them.

Crossover was born here and with the Beastie Boys

  • My first album, man ...didnt see that clip back in 89 ! I think would have lost my mind! Ice-T in this vid, Henry Rollins, who I didn't know back than. To me than, 14 year who had listended to hiphop for a few years, this was amazing, a rockband with a DJ using "hiphop" samples/cuts.

  • one of my favorite band

  • COOLL IN THE 2011!!!!..................

  • one of my favourite albums to listen to back in high school! i still love it!!! it's so classic and timeless. :)

  • Cool!!! Load of sk8 memories. Limb Bizkit are commercial amateurs compared to this.

  • Dear god, can you bring this band back... please...

  • About 5 years ahead of their time. :(

  • Blijft toch lekker die ouwe UDS. Heerlijk!

  • Check out the new band of Rudeboy: UDS goes surf: The Phantom Four & The Arguido!

  • Ah, yes, sweet sweet memories of headbanging to this tune on Saturdays - 90s were the bomb! And it's 20years old? Good grief, how time flies!

  • What the ... is that Henry Rollins??

  • @olderthanyou Yup, that guy was everywhere in late 80's and early 90's.

  • @olderthanyou Yes it is. Along with Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies, Flea and Ice-T

  • @olderthanyou wel not just Rollins but also Flea of the RHCP and Ice T i guess??

    classic oldskool vid!

  • @manono66 also Mike Muir of Suicidal Tendencies / Infectious Grooves

  • @olderthanyou no, it's a copy of Rollins. stupid question.

  • old skool !!

    legit yo

  • Saw these guys live in NYC Feb 1991. What was the name of the place? Right around corner from Port Authority Bus Terminal......The Academy??????

  • Henry Rollins, Mr.Mike Muir, Ice t, Flea and da SQUAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!

NO WAY U DISLIKE THIS SUCKAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

  • @alexanderschoemaker

    And flea from RHCP, too.

  • @alexanderschoemaker He toured with them and was a *huge* fan of their stuff.

  • One of the best concerts of my life, Belgrade, SKC, 1996. year. They even made live in Belgrade record...Thank you UDS!

    Hvala kraljevi!

  • Faith no more, Living colour, Rage against the machine and now add a old favourite : Urban Dance Squad

  • @damnbassreznor :O a hat of suicidal tendences!

  • I'm sure someone has mentioned Flea from Chili Peppers is in this vid...Just sayin.

  • @yesihavenocigarettes ...sounds a lttle like RHCP

  • @yesihavenocigarettes wow... he appears in 3:08 minutes

  • @damnbassreznor

Yep. Someone below already mentioned Henry Rollins in there as well. He was in Black Flag. Read a good story in Rolling Stone where the writer claims he got his ass kicked by Rollins at some concert, then recognized him when he had to interview him....I wonder how he was/is connected with UDS?

  • @yesihavenocigarettes yeah...appears too in 0:52 min :O , how i never knew UDS?

  • I love'd this band. I still listen to their albums.

  • UDS really stands the test of time. Too bad Deeper Shade is the cut that got famous.

  • Haha Henry Rollins and UDS. win.

  • @StickyX10 have you heard of Senser, check out End of the world show - brand new video

  • this group was the perfect example of the wall of sound.

  • Kinda hard to take a man seriously that's wearing an orange turtle-neck shirt tucked into his pants which happens to be hiked up past his belly button. Sorry, fellas....

  • @carabiner Than you miss the point completely. UDS was a dutch underground band, where the talents of the individual members clashed and what led to a unique sound. Rudeboy, Tres Manos, Stick, DJ DNA and Sil. Each had it's own style.

And without UDS RATM never became popular (I think even a band like RHCP has to pay).

  • @carabiner And anyway: orange is the dutch national colour ;) .

  • yes is HANRY!

  • IS that Henry Rollins at 0:52 ?

  • You betcha' !

  • I also see Flea and Ice T

  • Mike Muir of Suicidal Tenedenceis is in this video too @ 1:34.

  • @Kingsnake77 yeah he is, im quite amazing to see him in this video though...

  • wow didn`t think i could find this shit ! I was a fan.... Big time.......AheAd of their time for sure!

  • ouwe leipe shit ouwe

  • UDS was a band that opened up alot of doors and still had an underground fanbase.Glad I was one of them. Thanks youtube.Greatest hits album came out recently if your intererested,no idea about touring, would love to see em in detroit where I know they would sell out.

  • Just can't help thinking how much this song sounds like the Anthrax - Public Enemy song Bring the noise... Well actually it's the other way around of course

  • The tune that made me buy this album (on vinyl!) at the time... I love the fact that it doesnt sound the least bit outdated nowadays...surely a good sign.

  • 0:52 - Henry Rollins

1:34 - Mike Muir (Suicidal Tendencies)

1:40 - Flea (Red Hot Chilli Peppers)

    1:54 - Ice T

  • @ACookduke Cool! Stupidly I've never even noticed before!!

  • Rudeboy is so cool!

  • UDS - true Shizit!

  • While these guys were struggling for popularity in the US, Limp Bizkit sold millions of records. There's something wrong with that picture. These guys are fantastic.

  • any clue to what Rudeboy is doing nowadays?

after uds he did the vocals for the 1st junkie-xl album. (saturday teenage kicks, and billyclub should be easy enough 2 find on the net)

After that i kinda lost track, exept for a few short appearances on stage with other (mostly dutch) acts..

  • After UDS there was League of XO Gentlemen (League of XO Men or LXO), they split up may 2005, after that he formed The Servants of the Servants (you can find them on myspace)

  • uds played in mid 2000's. google it. pinch your earlobes...

  • Classic UDS

  • These guys were a major influence for bands like the RHCP... and hell yeah they are Dutch!!! :)

If ya ain't Dutch, ya ain't much!!!! :)))

  • RHCP's first album came out 7 years before UDS's.

  • Mike Muir? Fucking cool.

  • Yeah! I saw Flea in there!

  • The 1st album was so good but it didn't make an impact as much as the cuts on the album. It was a 5 star album
