Thanks to you finally i could decide which antivirus will be the one that i will choose, also i found this test truly interesting= watch?v=lNF-StKrKG4 its a comparative between avira vs kaspersky
You stated that these programs are lower end products, yet they routinely score towards the top tier of all scanners in official third party comparative tests.
You shouldn't be shocked that Avira scored higher than Avast, because Avira has outscored Avast in all three of the top comparative third party testing for over 2 years now.
Maximum security settings were not applied for all programs and some virus removal flags were closed out instead of selecting remove.
@Johnnyruddux they routinely get beat by all Norton Products, NOD32, Kaspersky, COMODO (which can be free), just to name a few. I mearly meant that they were free products and free, aside from comodo, sucks with prevention tests. Can you please let me know what settings were not setup because I will revisit this test.
fuck avira

@ClarkeComputers @ClarkeComputers I'm sorry but you're mistaken.
The latest Virus Bulletin test results verified Norton @ 83% detection rate and Avira Free @92% detection rate.
Norton was beat out by 20 other anti-virus software programs.

@Johnnyruddux I would love to see you post a link to back those words, Just for that I will test the 2 side by side very detailed.

@ClarkeComputers YouTube won't let me type the direct link in so let me try it this way:
Go to the Virus Bulletin website
Click on VB100 tab
Click on rap test results
Here you will find a chart reactive & proactive, Norton comes in 20th place.

@ClarkeComputers Norton 360 Version 4.0 is $80.00
Avira Premium Security Suite $40.00
Norton doesn't have a free addition so if you're going to test an $80 software it should go up against the $40 Avira Suite.
Also Norton is 80MB download vs Avira's 45MB.
Avira is less on system resources and its detection engine catches more.
It really is a no brainer!!
Please configure ALL setting to high on both antivirus programs before testing.
I'll be looking forward to your tests!!
