geokamikaze1989, come on, now!!! opticalvibes, your wrong because the whole song's amazing and the ay i look at it, all the pop stars have "We are the world". This is our version! Like those other guys who came together doing that other song, metal musictians also united and did this song and It was more than just the guitar solos that made the song cool.
The solo's are the only thing that make this worth
listening to me..At least there trying to out do
one another..Dio was so big headed"..It's like a
big get together and party..But were here for the children"so try to be cool...I really think half of these guy's or more were wired or coked out with a lot of booze to mellow it out.. Not to mention there girlfriends..I kinda enjoy things like that....

it would have been better if they would not have bring 10 people to solo, because they did not make a connection between them. you can still hear 10 people soloing one after each other, and because this was released as a single in 1986, each dude had about 10 sec/solo, so it's pretty annoing. also not only the vocals & guitars matter (90% vocalists are useless) and the bass and drums were trashed there.

yes. for starving children from africa. that's the reason, for making a album. but the idea of album never surpassed the idea chapter, so they made a song.

but it's still music and if they would have put soul in it and enough brains the whole half dozen of dozen of people, it would have been a very memorable tribute. now it's more memorable for who was in that band and how many were in that band. the music industry is still music industry and it was more like: "I'm rich and I care for those kids" ("if I receive my paycheck as fat as I wish..."). 40 or more people for just ONE song IS more of a joke. Shame!!!

I know what you mean, but too many!!! And they would have made a lot more money if they would have finished the album. Then it would have been a lot of breathing space for each talent, but they were lazy and ingnorant.
unfortunately.. most bands today don't want to take the risk of sounding different... because the record labels don't want them to... its sad really because there are too many good artists today that hide behind the shackles of freedom
nice awesome !! great! xD

It'd be interesting if they tried something similar with modern bands. Although, i'm sure it'd be a total suckfest compared to this.
