Surgery Oct. 13 on promising 2-year-old colt Here Comes Frazier to correct a multi-piece fracture of the right hock (tibia bone) was successful and the prognosis is good the son of Badge of Silver could eventually return to competition, according to trainer Ken McPeek’s office.
Frazier was on the verge of running off the whole race... jock shouldn't get on if he's not strong enough to control the horse. He had absolutely no control in the stretch.
Can someone please give me an update on that railing! It took a big hit, Oh God I hope its okay, poor thing didnt do anything to anybody. This world is so cruel!!!
I'm a retired Jockey I watch this 10 times and I'm90% sure the horse behind come in to close and clip heels with the front horse witch suck his hindend in the rider,s hands where on the neck when the horse suck,t his but in. If the horse shyed from the stick it would have happen a lot faster trust me i know. It takes a smart man or woman to be a jockey Go out to the Track and meet them DON,T just watch them Go down and think its funny. Be smarter than THAT!!
@ddwill8485 Actually, the horse wasn't as fine. Straight from Bloodhorse : “He’s very lame," McPeek said. "He’s got a compound fracture of the right hock. He needs surgery and we're not sure whether he can make it back. It’s career-threatening and possibly life-threatening..”
This is the thing that makes us fans sick to our stomachs. Not only because it was a very bad spill, but we are going to get the same reaction as did Eight Belles, and Geroge Washington who both died on track during a major race.
It is confirmed that it is not a compound fracture, just comminuted fracture of the right hind tibia. His prognosis is good, but his racing career is probably over.
@LoriTopazz Don't worry. Amazing BOTH horse and rider are both unharmed. Julien is only feeling minor discomfort in his hand, and Here Comes Frazier is perfectly fine. What an amazing moment. Let's be thankful their both okay.
@ruffianrulz Sorry, but that horse isn't perfectly fine at all. Just because he got up doesn't mean a thing. He injured his right hock. His racing career is most likely over.
@VivaLaEquus Hate to kill your trip, but that is what TVG reported the day following the race. I am now aware that Frazier was hurt, but his surgery went well and he could even come back next year. The horse is walking normal, and I apologize for my lack of sources. Once again, TVG reported Here Comes Frazier was perfectly unharmed, and I took their word for it.
Being a horse owner myself, I'm perfectly aware that just because a horse gets up, doesn't mean he's okay. Ask my deceased gelding.
why the fuck does he keep saying it's a awkward move?

Down Goes Frazier, Down Goes Frazier, but like a true champion was able to get up. I'm glad both Jockey and horse will be fine.

@imperialbellpepper
He`s going to have surgery to repair multi-piece fracture.
Chances are good he`ll recover well enough to live a comfortable retirement. Though his career is most likely over.

Here Comes Frazier was seriously injured, per Blood Horse. He has a compound fracture of the right hock.

It turns my stomach when accidents like this happen. Sending positive thoughts to Julien and Here Comes Frazier.
