It's the only time you hear Steve play a strat ( on Quiet Earth). When we saw them in Nashville, we happen to wonder on the stage. I looked at Steve's and Mike's pedals and as a young guitarist, I said yeah, this is the way I'd like to go!
Thanks so much for posting this. It seems there is so little footage of Steve Hackett performing with the band. I'm so glad that whoever shot this was focused on Steve.
It's such a tragedy that the band failed to capture more of it's live performances (on film) during the 70's, in fact it's almost a crime (arrest them now!) Thank you so much for posting this, maybe one day we'll get a previously-hidden gem of an entire pro-shot W&W show!
Wonderful, amazing, extraordinary beautiful to watch the Master Steve Hackett performing during this tour, simply unique material, thanks for posting it, no matter how it sounds or how it looks, it is just simply bautiful !
I thought it was March, but wasn't sure. Thanks! My senior year and it was killer to see them. We walked on stage and looked at all their equipment. Being a guitarist, I started getting some pedals!
It's so excellent to see Steve getting down soloing on "..In That Quiet Earth!" Loved it when both he and Mike played bum notes at the same time. Hilarious! Tony must have shat!
mbow, to an extent, yes. But "Please Don't Touch" would have sat so much better, replacing "Wot Gorilla". Collins 'couldn't get behind it'. Maybe Hackett would have stayed, they would have split up in the early 80's and we would have been spared Abacab, Genesis, Invisible Shite and everything else post-1980
Inside & Out was, to me, was Hackett's swansong guitar piece. Solo stuff asides, this should've replaced the more innocent stuff on Wuthering like Special Way. Did I say that out loud?
Sticks in my memory too!! I went on the 23rd (thursday) - they actually did 3 nights. Still got the ticket and poster!! happy days

Great to see Hackett. Irreplaceable. I still think his 'Inside and Out' should have made it onto to the 'Wind and Wuthering' album. Who else agrees?
