Thanks for this. Just picked up a P30L this week and put a couple hundred rounds through it before leaving the range. Love it! Heading over to clean it now thanks to you!
Whats the weight unloaded with empty mag in it? Whats the length of pull? How many lbs is the trigger set for? Awsome looking pistol. But for now it cost way too much when I have others.
Why the hell are they putting these plastic rings?!?!?! USPs have a second spring, P30s have this awful plastic ring. How many rounds can go through the gun before the plastic ring is destroyed?
It's not plastic. It's some type of teflon I believe. It's used as a recoil buffer to keep the slide for impacting the frame. It also helps soften the felt recoil and extends the life of the pistol from wear.
Thanks for the very helpful video. I'm really torn on this gun. I love the grip, but don't like that (according to the gun salesman) the first shot is always double-action. (Unless you have time to pull the hammer back before aiming each time.)
He's stressing that most other composites (Glock, XDM, Smith M&P) have trigger or grip safeties, so all shots are single action. So you have to be prepared for both double and single action in the same firing sequence. Do you find that to be an issue?
Im will be getting one of these soon. I'm transfering my M&P 9mm to my girlfriend. I really love the feel of this pistol and can't wait to get it in my hands.
I just picked up a P30 today. Been searching for a damn new one for weeks!!! I'm so happy with my purchase. These guns are unmatched in quality, performance and comfort.
Thanks again for your video - it helped me during my first ever field strip. =)
I got mine last night and I thought the side pin had to come all the way out(the manual says so!). It didn't didn't force it...I figured i'd find a vid on youtube and here it is. Thanks!
Quick story: I went to the store today and looked at a brand new P30. I was ready to buy it and asked the salesman how to field-strip the gun. He tried to "completely" remove the slide release pin from the frame. He then called two other "HK experts" who pushed a rod through the right side to try to push the pin out. That didn't work, so they brought out a hammer and hit the heck out of it until it finally came out. I didn't buy it. I'll order a new one in the box!
A hammer, really? I can't say that didn't cross my mind back before I knew how to take down this gun, but I wouldn't actually have done it! Glad you didn't buy that one!
could you maybe do another video and show how you bring the slide stop to a locked position, as well as keeping the gun in the camera shot during the whole take? thanks - love your video.
the video is great, thankyou

I have the p30L. It has a v3 trigger, double and single action, and a manual safety on both sides of the gun. It's a sweet firearm.

Its a recoil buffer like you'd see on a M16. It will last a looong time.

whats the difference between a p30 and p30L? i was looking at these, i have a usp already but the decocker on this model is kind of a turn off for me
jonnyv1nj 2 years ago
The main difference (from what I understand) is that the P30L has a longer barrel and slide (about 1 1/2" or 3 cm longer) than the standard P30.

Thanks for the video. Have you considered doing one on detail stripping. I have looked, and cannot find any at all. That would be great.
Steve.

I'd love to help you with that, but past experience says don't break down an HK pistol beyond field strip. I leave that to the professional gunsmith.

Thanks for the video! Pretty simple fieldstripping, just the way it should be!

and how much they run
kowa45 2 years ago
I picked mine up for about $800. The guys at the local gun range assumed I had paid $1100, so there is clearly a wide range out there.

how does it shoot and how accurate
kowa45 2 years ago
Kowa45
The recoil is crazy-soft, and as accurate as you need it to be.
the comfort level of the grip cannot be matched
by far the best 9mm you can buy
imo of course
