I was doing everything correct and my chain broke on litterally the 39th magnemite. I went on the 4 ring patch and it was the same shake as my initial shake, didnt touch a wall or tree but yet it broke my chain. Why is that?

dude, how many posibilities are there 4 a shiny 2 appear after 20 encounters? I try to go further, but my chain always breaks, my only 40+ chain ever has been a Bagon, ending with the catch of my shiny, I would be grateful if you could help me =)

lol im too dumb for this. Highest I get is 15. but like 10+ times break from 10-13. Its damn annoying, I dont really make a mistake but it breaks. Im doing Houndoom or Eevee. I know Evee is really rare but I dont even see myself close to getting 35+.

@KittyKat90 although you're using the diagram, make sure you don't pick a patch that it is on the same row as another patch...hopefully this helps.

But before I started I did Houndooms and got to 36, was already seing pretty fast which patch I should enter.. a lot were near trees or fences also but it never broke so I didnt care. xD

It only broke when my Repel ran out right on my next patch.The Pokemon didnt appear, when I sprayed it did but the chain was broken.(tried later, if I leave field 1st, a random poke comes)

At 1:25 in the video, you enter a patch that is directly four steps to the right of you. I thought you weren't supposed to go four up, down, left, or right, as that has a high chance of breaking your chain. Am I wrong? :/

i have been on 51 chain all day, trying to see a shiny bush now and again through out the day (not like i've been playing for 24hrs) And no Shiny bush, i began with 190 or so max repels and now im down to 115. I keep reseting it but no shiny bush. Am I just that unlucky?

only go into the 4th if he is not touching another patch or hes against the edge or a rock etc. only go into it when 4 patches appear and three of them look like your first ( normal or whit, shiny sparkling )

oh, and just a simple tip - go into options and turn battle scene off. it takes the animation away from the move your using so the battles go by that little bit faster :)

time wise 30 minutes the chain should be 40 or more i have caught 2 shinys's the best patches are really the non-yellow/white or the basic patches and they should be 4X0 4X1 or 4X2 those are the best ones you want to choose hope it helps!!

your numbers are wrong at 15 seconds. the corners of the number 4 shou all be X because they can break your chain. And the 4 straight down the middle can as well.

For anyone who is asking why there chain is breaking. Some rules for chaining.

First off, you always want to stay within the same 4x4x4x4 box. So never go outside to a patch that leaves the chaining box you have created.

Second, always make sure that the patch of grass you walk into is the same as the patch u just fainted

Third, try to chain in a patch of grass that allows a 4x4x4x4 box.

is it easier to chain with the shiny patch or the normal patch. In my own experience my longest chain was 43 but unfortunately I broke it without catching a shiny. Sometimes, my chain breaks after 20 for unknown reasons and I need help.Note that I have the european version.

it will only break if its a wild pokemon, in that case, use repels, and makesure the pokemon in lead is at a high level. when you use a repel, it only repels pokemonn weaker than that of the lead pokemon (lower level), other than that, just be wary of where the other shakey patches are.

I'm pretty bad at it though, I've had a few attempts at it, and im on 6 :S

ok this guide is very helpfull but just because you go into a patch in the 4th zone doesnt mean its not going to break your chain, there are certain patterns that may appear when you use your pokeradar , ill name one off the top, when your going into a 4 zone patch if there is a patch right next to it there is about a 60% chance that it will break, no idea why but it was proven, also when a 4th oatch is in the same line as another one, all the patches chances get altered so reset if these happen

just like in lake verity...there are also 4 pokemon here to chain....geodude...machop(geod­ude is more common than machop)..pokeradar pokemon...larvitar(diamond)...­stantler(Pearl)...and the swarming pokemon: phanpy...and that's a total of 4 again!!!

add the shiny pokemon from lake verity and from route 207...8 SHINIES ALL IN ALL!!!!!

i'll give u a guide in chaining...i got this from shukochan and the tag of the video is how to hunt shinies using the poke radar.....almost all that watched that video had already there own shiny...chaining needs a lot of patience because you reset your radar more than meeting the pokemon you're chaining...first rule: choose a patch which is at least four patches away from you...second: don't choose a patch of grass that are on the edges and is in front of you...all the other rules were stated..

the grass shakes because the pokeradar was used, or a pokemon which showed up because of the use of pokeradar was defeated or caught, many ppl assign the pokeradar to the Y button, which is why we dont c the player going in his item bag (apart from getting repels)

Unlike a lot of those crazy suspitions and methods, this one actually works. Sometimes I have a hard time judging what specific ring something is in, but then I just reset untill I get one I'm sure about.

This helps out a LOT when you chain in the trophy garden - like with eevee, porygon, and castform. Good series - you and shuko should team up. xD
