Andy's genius is his ability to do a great job at being a "bad" entertainer. He liked to manipulate the audiences to meet him on whatever level he wanted. He would be abusive or give that lost boy look and expected audiences to "get" the range of his craft.

i love that Andy played this one straight... Andy was great at being funny, and funny has its place, but not everything has to be a joke, and i'm glad he knew that... it's also another nice nod to Elvis, even though he's not doing an impersonation here... really enjoyed this clip! thanks!

Andy was in the business as long as HE could be entertained entertaining others.

When that ended, one way or another he got out. My favorite comedian of ALL time.(And YES I'm aware of the APPARENT contradiction there. That's why he's my favorite.)
