You may like listening to neoclassical shit, but i think its pretentious and ridiculous, and thus i like Petri´s solos more, and there is no doubt that his growling is way better than Jari´s, in both technique and range. I growl myself, and i do it very seriously, i have studied all kinds of growlers and i assure you, Jari wont be able to growl as long as Petri for the simple reason that his technicue is weak. Jari is a far better musician and vocalist in my opinion i mean seriously have you listened to Wintersun, dood his vocals are incredible! listen to starchild! or what about sword chant by ensiferum petri could never nail that.... and never mind petri attempting jari's solo's tbh he totally ruins them

I have listened to Wintersun, I actually listened to it a lot but then i got tired of it, since the songwriting is actually rather boring and the melodies for the most part too simple for me. I just dont like his harsh vocals because they lack technicue and his singing voice is kinda bad too... In my opinion he should hire someone else to do the vocals and just do what he can do really well: play guitar.

@6EELZE6U6666 And Petri has never even tried to play the exact same solos Jari did, which, in my opinion, is very cool because it shows that he wants to play stuff in his own way. Music is not a competition, and the most technical solo isnt always the best sounding one... I think Petri is a great guitarist, and I prefer his playing style to Jari´s. I dont care if he cannot play everything Jari can, I doubt Jari can do everything Petri can either, Petri´s alt picking is pretty amazing for example

@Benteiron I still somehow believed they made a decision for Pete he could not have made himself. Dedicating himself to Enska truly means something. I heard that some Norther shows were canceled because of that and since he founded Norther himself and had brought it so far, it was natural that he would not be able to let go, it becomes sort of like an own child.

Mahi never had anything else in mind, another reason why I admire him so much, he knew his way from the very beginning!!!

I think the discussion about wheather Jari or Petri is better is quite stupid. Jari left the band, and even though I would like him to play with Ensiferum, I think he must have had a good reason for this. Now he records awesome songs with Wintersun and that's a great thing too. Petri is the new singer/guitarist, and I consider him to be a good replacement for Jari. Because both are great.

I liked every album of Ensiferum except dragonhead but their best album is still Victory Songs. But I admit that Jari is a better singer than his replacement.

But Wintersun isn,t that great anyway except for the song Winter Madness, he sould've stayed in Ensiferum and used some songs from the wintersun album for Ensiferum then scrap the rest
