@jjcollura : I ate it raw. It tastes the best when it's eaten as Sashimi. If you don't like it Sashimi style, I would recommend cooking it into a white wine sauce served over angel hair pasta. That's another way that I like to eat Uni.
The ones I got where big and black with a bit of purple. They taste sweet and have a slightly bitter after taste. But it's a good kind of bitter! Can't wait until winter in Canada to buy them again!!! =) Thanks for watching!

Does the color of the urchin affect quality? Some at my local market are pale pinkish others are dark purple...?

@AllAbout127 : I never liked Uni when I was younger. It's probably an acquired taste. Also, it needs to be ultra fresh before it tastes good.
