  • The third gear intake roar is tops!

  • Very nice, that thing launches hard

  • hey will the 3.3 turbo fit in this car

  • love the secound shift sound!

  • still pulling hard

  • I was about to talk shit but I wont after the car took off. A non turbo 911 that can smoke the tires? Fast car.

  • @vanson1200r lol a non-turbo porsche that can burn rubber is a miracle to you? You've obviously never driven a porsche of any sort

  • There is no substitute ... very nice !

  • I just can't understand why anyone would give this 911 video a dislike! This thing runs! Especially for the year it is with only a normally aspirated 3.2L with some mods done. The guys that left dislikes probably have nothing better to do then be complete assholes wishing they can have more interaction with cars then watching a youtube vid. Seems like now days there are more jerks popping up... Unbelievable :-/

  • amazing

  • "Oh my goodness" is right.

  • porsche = over priced VW.

  • Das Auto!

  • Its interesting that the chip would need a k&n air filter, the stock box breaths rather well and most report no hp gains going to k&n (just better sound). Have you considered a Steve Wong Chip? Hes considered the guru of 3.2 chipping. How do you like your current chip? Any idea how much horsepower you have now?

  • @djick31 The stock box is there, I havea replacement K&N filter in the box , not the cone style.. Never tried the Steve Wong but heard very good things and about them. In the description at the top I mention other work then just the muffler, filter and chip. HP unknown, never pulled a dyno. Take heed the big chrome thing sticking out the back is the hooker tunable muffler, not much room back there is why it sticks out, LOL It's about as free flowing as one can get with a cat bypass behind it

  • @BumpWheel Nice! Do you know which engine type that is? 207 217 231 bhp? It looks very good either way. How did or how much (do you think) the intake port and the guide help the engine? Was it just to protect it from worn valve guides or is there a goal of horsepower increase to go with that as well?

    Great vid

  • @djick31 It's an 86 engine w/ 86 DME So thinking if it's an North American engine it should be 217 bhp. Maybe it could be from another market, that would be great?!:) Anyway the head port size are more than large enough in stock form, so they need no enlarging at all. But they do need help on the intake floor, hence "short turn radius cut". The guide area was tear drop cut on the casting around the guide "better flow"less obstruction there.

Thanks for answering my questions, trying to see if my car can compare with the 3.2 in the sc as well.

  • your Shocks suck!

  • OK. That was cool.

  • smoooth,just like balls

  • brilliant car

  • love that second gear cherp

  • sick

  • @36psi read the description :L

  • 90-0. now 91-0. nice

  • 90-0. nice

  • So i was doing yard work for some lady the other day and i noticed an old 1979 Porsche 911 turbo (looked just like this one) sitting there, but the paint was dull from sitting in the sun and there were some leaves on top of it and weeds growing around it, im going over there monday to do more yard work and am going to ask her about it. Anyone have any tips on what i should expect? Think it might need a new engine? Are Porsche engines long lasting/reliable?

  • @sirplayboy3 do you ever want to afford a dinner date? id forget about it,but i cant blame you for diggin on it 911's are the shit!

  • @sirplayboy3: Oh, yes sir ESPECIALLY porsche engines. My one is 32 years old (all original besides the stereo) and has about 220 thousand miles on it and I am racing and power-sliding the shit out of it every day.

  • That is awesome! Nicely done, great car.

  • These are definitely not fast cars!

  • nice take off bro

  • how much was the chip? and how much more hp does it give?

  • @MrSuperNathan .. about 20 horses extra from just the chip..I will message you with a link of the company that I bought it from.. very inexpensive.

  • @MrSuperNathan mind you with the chip, you need a K&N air filter and a free flowing exhaust with an exhaust cat bypass for your's to run right... your's will run pretty good with just those alone

  • I ended up getting a Steve Wong chip from 991chips.com for my 87' Carrera, and it FREAKING ROCKS. I noticed immediately that it starts and idles better. I also did a cat bypass and a dual outlet muffler. It is a little too loud now, but man it really helped the mid range and top end. It revs up much faster. 1st gear is over with almost as soon as I let the clutch out. It feels like it shaved .5 sec. off the 0-60 time. Not sure of how much it actually took off, but you can sure feel it.

  • OK, already posted down below, but very nice and will be driving my 83 911SC and my 83 930Turbo in the hill country dieses Wochenende!! ....Der Lindenbaum & Alamo Cafe for starts

  • Kafreem, I also have an 83 911SC (champagne) and a 83 930T (kiln red)! More to the point, Der Lindendbaum ist ganz gut, aber.....soll Ich sagen..ausgezeichnet!! Alamo is great as well, next time I make it out to Comfort, I'll be looking for you!! As a matter of fact, I was at the Alamo in the 911 just after X-mas!

    Ritter

  • Oh my god, is that real? The Citröen C15 of my dad cant do that xD

  • id give.. well i dont have anything worth enough to give for this car..

  • NEW ROCKET FROM NASA!!!!

  • great sound and great launch! beautiful car, i own a 79 sc as well :). all stock though.

  • Are you sure it is a Porsche? looked more like Zeus's lightning strike!!

  • @shanhitex

Never seen a car accelerate before huh?

  • "Oo mah goodness!"

  • I love Porsche 911

  • that thing went like a bat out of hell on fire cranked up on meth

  • thats right girl oh my goodness,

  • Nice!!!! Do you have an aftermarket chip? What exhaust it that, it sounds great!

  • @PA28140 Thanks, It's a Hooker muffler straight off the cat bypass with a AutoWerks chip, that chrome tip is the Hooker muffler, fully adjustable. I wished i could of moved it in a little more cause it does stick out, there was not enough room becasue of the cat . The original muffler behind the engine was removed.

  • I love Texas!!!!

  • magnificent!!1

  • orginal sound ? not tuned ?

  • No way that was altered, my father has a '87 3.2 flat six na carrera. Like he says 1st gear is for climbing trees cause all the torque, but once you hit 2nd, whole new story. He can keep up with my '97 VW GTI VR6 (slightly modded) and dust me in higher gears.

  • @Chigti1 Thanks Chigti1 for the positive comment on my 911. You are right, the video has not been altered..have a nice Easter!

  • Very nice launch. I know not the easiest car to launch, but you seem to have it down! Standard ratio gears in your 915 ?

  • yes 915 it is and bone stock.. .trying not to blow it so easy it goes most of the time

  • After a few more viewings, I'm afraid that this film was manipulated. Someone hit fast forward. lol You can even hear the audio volume go low and then back up. They later fitted the audio to the video. Cute though. :)

  • LOL, I can assure you the video has not been altered.. i used my Kodak Digital camera to shoot this and the sound portion at the end of the run comes back in louder every time i make a video, just click on my Harley Bobber Springer Softail Acceleration video and it does the same thing... thanks for the comment though... click on my name then click... see all videos to see my bike video and you will see the sound come in at the start of the run then fade in the middle then come back in at the end

  • @BMAN11133 If you watch the foliage in the top left hand corner of this vid you will see that it remains fluttering at a constant speed all through which means no variation in the record speed. If that doesn't convince I can assure that my own 'SC takes off the same way ie like a rocket! You need to drive one of these amazing cars to really appreciate what can do with no fuss at all.

  • Hell yea biach!!!!!! C-ya!!!! lol

  • Comment removed

  • Holy Shit ! Nice accel but you gotta trim back that tail pipe before you slice your ankle open.

  • LOL, that pipe is the muffler, no exhaust under it.. the pipe is a Hooker muffler running off of the cat back

  • @BumpWheel

Why did you go with a HOOKER muffler? Just curious? There are so many other better products out there.

  • I would say it's pretty free flowing and the price is right... that's one of the reasons why it runs so good

  • @BumpWheel

    fair enough...sounds great btw! Cheers.

  • Nice, how many HP's you got out there?

i have a 930 Turbo and mine looks slower ten yours... i had cold tires but still ...

also my weight is 1300 + for a turbo '78

    thake care

  • Brilliant porsches r my fav cars wats the top speed of that and 0-60mph on that?

  • Nice!! and very nice sound

  • Thanks , Acutally, my 20 yr old son begged me to run him at a 10 mph punch, he has a 07 mustang GT with upgraded cats and no mufflers after the cats and underdrive pulleys, a stock 07 GT is 300 HP, by the time i hit 4th gear i had him 5 to 7 car links and ready to go to 5 th gear.... he was very upset, he thought he could walk of and leave me

  • Hey man, where are you at in Texas?

  • mustang drivers say that about every car

  • Not in a position to buy, as I am in the UK. I just want a 3.2 conversion for my 3.0 sc!

  • Thats awesome mate.

    I want a 3.2 conversion!

  • Thanks, actually the car is forsale

  • how much?

  • Sweet...check out my 80 911sc launch vid...not as much power, it has the 3.0 but i still love the sound.

  • Nice acceleration your's has

  • sure does sound good. how much horsepower does it have damn thats a nice car

  • HP unknown, will run mid 12 sec 1/4 mile & i have been up to 150 in 4 gear w/ 1 gear left... it's a 79 SC W/ an 86 3.2L nonturbo engine, autowerks chip, K&N air filter, Cat bypass catalyst converter, hooker muffler.. these cars weigh 3000lbs. Thinking about running a small garrett turbo & mounting where the old stock muffler was at, plenty of room there since the old muffler was removed & put the hooker muffler on... 5 lbs boost should be safe and not ruin the engine & put it well over 400 hp

  • "Mid 12s"?! 'king 'ell!

Wish I had a little :applause: animated icon at my disposal! ;o)

Are you sure it's 3000lbs (1380kgs)? - I thought the first generation of 911 turbos were ~1180kgs, and I don't see why an SC/Carrera3.2 hybrid should be heavier.

Somebody told me that Garretts are designed to be water (rather than oil) cooled, which can be problematic, but I've heard one or two guys swear by them..

  • Actually the weight is 1,363 Kilograms, close enough, and i'm talking about the exhaust driven turbo, which the shaft bearings are cooled by oil.......

  • That is heavier than I expected - being an SC, probably won't have unnecessarily heavy items like 'electric seats' and Air-Conditioning?

Still, the thing left the line at enough pace! lol ;o)

Yeah, I can't remember who told me about Garretts, think it was a friend who ran one on his 930 for a while. But, as you probably know, the factory uses KKKs.

Got a 915 Gearbox in there? Or gone for the Carrera's G50?

Anyway, from what I see here, I'd estimate 360FWHP - at least! :o))

  • Yes, I'd like to know what gearbox you chose to use in your conversion? Thanks in advance.

  • 915.... but g50 will come some day i'm sure, depends on me with the way i drive it... not to often do i abuse this car

  • i want one just like it.

  • what kind of exhaust does it have

  • Hooker tuneable muffler with cat bypass

    catalyst converter
