A fine movie, yes, with echoes of "Don't Look Now."

One of the most visually beautiful films of the 1990s. It definitely reminded me of Nicholas Roeg's film "Don't Look Now", but it does have its own style and sensiblities. It is quite faithful to the spirit of the original novel. Natasha Richardson was brilliant in it as was Christopher Walken. So dark, yet so very elegant.

I can only theorise that Don LaFontaine was ill when this trailer was made, because Jim Cummings did a great impression of him.

I will be watching this movie this evening. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. A sophisticated siren of the theater and film with such a seductive and sultry voice, we have lost a treasure with so much radiance ....so much yet to be bestowed upon us. Mary and Colin are an English couple on holiday in Venice. They get lost amongst the canals and are befriended by a forceful native named Robert. He insists on bringing them to his house where they meet his wife Caroline.
