Santa Claus gave me a Brookstone Parrot AR Drone for Christmas (Dec. 2011). I haven't taken it out of the box yet, but in addition to the upgradable power packs, can I pimp it out with stronger motors and a more powerful WiFi transceiver?
id love to get this much run time, but i dont want to dampen speed and manveurability to do so. i hope you guys come out with lightweight version of this sometime soon.
@245akolmane I have flown one up to 200 feet high, but you have to do it in totally calm conditions, because its ability to fight the wind just isn't there. If you take the foam bumper off you could fight the wind much better though. I have hit the emergency cutoff before at 40 feet and it drops like a rock, but with the foam on, it is indestructible. Landed on the roof once and after the motors stopped it slid off, and hit the ground on edge and bounced harmlessly like a rubber ball.
@assmunch1 sorry to disagree! i love my drone but... each time i go for a fly something comes back broken! Literally! (i have as much as 3 hours of flight only). The outdoor hull is super super fragile! i still love my drone though! (plus: this run time thing can really be a deal-braker for a lot of people!)
@Tuganotube I am flying almost a year with my Drone, and i didn't have to replace anything. If you break the outdoor hull, you really did something wrong and the crash was way to hard. With 4 motors, you know that battery's wont run to long. (Standard battery pack). Maybe a nice hint: When flying outdoor, don't select outdoor hull, keep the option off. It gives a bit more balance to the drone and reduces the chance of crashing/ emergency cut outs.
wait, after I see this video , so I just order one 2600mah form you guys at maxamps.com
but I forgot to ask and to make sure. do I have do anything to make ar.drone fit the batteries and work with it? and can I charge by Ar.drone's charge?
well i think the 1300 pack will be better chose to get 12min this good so you can cold down the motors so you wont heat them up to long n it mite save your motor for longer life time because i think if u use it for 20mins i think u will shorten the motors life because u are flying it longer just what i think
Will this fit into the AR drone 2.0?

do those things fly good in 20 mph wind?
MTHKITEBOARDS 2 months ago
@MTHKITEBOARDS No. Max 10 mph, after that it get's really tricky with a big chance destroying the drone.

@wi11y1960
Yes, you can find the app on the Android market.

Has the Military embraced this concept? It shore looks like it would dampen fuel cost.

@Tuganotube I wasn't flying with the outdoor hull, as you stated. I specifically said "with the foam on it..."

Simply double the runtime of the 1300 pack.
jammaxamps 1 year ago
@jammaxamps Really? So if I put a 5200mAH pack on there, I'll get quadruple the runtime?

You didn't say much flight time the 2600 mAh battery gives the Parrot AR Drone.
