aaaaaaah!!! heres what this is, per my JP husbands: this is a commercial to show good the electric stove is, vs. the usual gas top "stove" used in Japan. THATS what its about & thats why "sugoi" ... that you can cook omelettes and it turns out okay.
he "whisked" the yolk w/cornstarch (only its not cornstarch here, forget what it is) OR he mixed it w/ sugar, which i think thats what he did, not sure, cant see so good in the video, anyway
and whisks? yah right ... usually a whisk or any decent utensil will start out at about $8 per and the ones at the 100yen shop, aka $1 store SUCK straight up! if it cant be done w/ hashi, chopsticks, THEN ya buy watever .. pain in the arse when you are use to using a variety of utensils
lol japanese ppl dont use whisks unless the are westernized cooks butt the point of the vid was that even some one who cant cook (as im sure both you and i agree on this the dude had no idea what he was doing lol) can make a some what successful omelette
Holy shit!

Excuse me for saying so, but that has to be the dumbest way I have ever seen someone cook a scrambled egg!
jngwatson 1 year ago 3
@jngwatson It's not scrambled eggs, it's an omelette. He beat the egg white first then added the yolks to keep the omelette nice and fluffy. :)

No offence, Mate, I am a Chef for 18 years. Why do you seperate & whisk the eggs, then add them again together?
And if you are doin it to add air, why not just use a whisk?
Anyway, each to their own.
