  • my burmese drinks 2 glasses (he wont drink out of the cat bowl) of water a day

  • Beautiful. Don't the Burmese grab onto your heart and stay there?

  • The Burmese Cat I had did the same thing, Muffin, but she was black, a Sable Burmese.

  • I have a burmese cat but has siamese colours it's kinda weird lol

  • i have a burmese choc yay 4 kitties

  • One of our kitties has the same issue..you can't go in the bathroom without him jumping on the sink. :)

  • Right at the end of this, you can see one of our other cats walking into the bathroom backwards wearing an Elizabethan collar.

  • Drinking Problem Haha

  • my burmese is he same as ur peeps... I fill the water pitcher next to the sink just for him and my mau

  • My mum has a cat that does that too!!! lol...

  • yes i have to a Burmese Choclate and Likak

  • Same here! :D

  • i had a choc brown burmese - it might be worth getting yours tested for diabetes - as its very common in this breed - signs to look for are excessive drinking (ours used to only like to drink from a glass) and excessive pee-ing - don't want to worry you - but they can test for it easily and insulin administration is easy.....

  • he looks JUST LIKE MY CAT! see my video tiled "my cat jimmy"

  • yea my burmese won't touch the water in her bowl. She only drinks out of the bath and basin. Strange creatures.

  • She will OCCASIONALLY drink out of the water bowl, but most of the time she will sit near your feet, wherever you may be, and when you move your feet, she jumps up and makes this purr/squeak noise and looks up at you with her big green loving eyes thinking that you're gonna get right up and turn the faucet on for her. I'll post a video response of her drinking.

  • We bathe her, of course feed her and such comb her, take her to the vet and everything, and she has come to be one of the most spoiled animals ever.

  • She'd come to our back sliding glass door and paw on it so we just started giving her food and water and she'd come in the house for like 15 minutes every day to cool off in the summer or warm up in the winter but one winter day she came to the door covered in frost and my mom said "That's it." and we brought her inside and now she's ours. B4 we knew of her, part of her tail had frozen off so she has a shorter tail than most cats.

  • I don't have a burmese cat. But for a while I thought I was the only person ever to have a cat that likes to drink out of the tap in the bathroom or wherever. She's a black himalayan, I think. We kinda stole her from the people who live behind us, b/c they wouldn't feed her or give her water or let her in the house or anything.

  • Yeah, you did good to keep her :o)

  • i have a chocolate torti, she does the same thing, sits at the sink yelling at me til i turn the water on

  • This one, Harald, will usually only drink if you cup your hand under the tap - that is normally the only way he will take on water for some reason. Occasionally he will lower his standards and drink from the tap itself, like here, but it normally has to be from the hand. And he just igores the water bowl.

  • I have a burmese that looks very similar to yours, he also drinks from the tap! I will have to post a video response of him! And responding to rantum18, mine also won't drink near his food, he has to have fresh water poured for im all the time!!

  • Willow my moggy has this tap obsession too, she seems to only like drinking running water.. am thinking of installing a garden fountain just for her!

  • My burmese cats don't seem to like drinking near their food, so I have to fill glasses of water for them all the time. Anyone else with burmese cats notice this?

  • lol, my burmese is exactly the same, he drinks out of the taps too!

  • Hi, yes both my burmese are the same - their water bowl has to be on the drainer, next to the taps! Most of the time, they try to drink from the taps - tapping them with their paws to get the water. They are obsessed with water! One of them has even fallen in the bath a few times!

  • lol that is amousing, i have a burmese cat, chocolate brown
