We have to modernise the Philippine army, there's no denying that China's economic importance is growing in the Asia pacific and along with that comes the burden of acquiring resources to meet their growing industry and population. We can't let the Philippines be an easy target for them to acquire those resources. We need reform now!!! economics first and the welfare of our people then the army. BUT we have to act really fast!!
lololol this video is totally fake our fighter jets is OV-10 (used in VIetnam War) LOL and we have only few units like 8 - 12 lol we only have few heli transport which is an old heli used by Americans in Vietnam War again, our old WW2 fleet is from US, Britain, Australia, Germany, but we have 1 modern super carrier but we dont have any modern fighter jets and some frigates, corvettes, assault ship, submarine to escort the carrier :(

@rankandfile1935 Unfortunately the military has it's own rules and law to follow. It is like that for all militaries not just the AFP. That's is why you have a court martial and not a regular court. If the enlisted person was dismissed unfairly then he can use his chain-of-command to request a separate hearing. Chain-of-Command is all the way to the Commander-in-Chief. Do you actually know your rights in the military? I presume you are an enlisted person or a former enlisted person in the AFP.

PAF pilots are flying "coffins". Anytime they know their plane can develop mechanical trouble and crash cuz of corruption in the Air Force. How many young pilots died already cuz of this? I don't think we have anymore f-5's or even helicopters left. We only have Broncos, maybe some Italian trainer/attack jets and one or 2 transport planes.
@AccordGTR Maybe you meant to say "PAF airplanes are flying coffins" rather than pilots. Are you kidding me? Corruption is everywhere in the Phils not just in the Air Force. I think the PAF have more manpower than the equipment they need to operate and maintain which goes to show that it's time to downsize the PAF. It has become a "rag tag air farce". Modernize and clean the PNP instead. Once the Philippines achieve peace and order then maybe prosperity will follow.

@deportwetbacks Actually the Phil AF did not have F-5Es. They had F-5A and a few F-5Bs Freedom Fighters. The F-5E Tiger II is the advanced version of the F-5 family.
@deportwetbacks The USAF's 26th Aggressor Sqdn that were based at Clark flew F-5E not the Phil Air Force. It's hard to tell from the outside because they share the same airframe but there are some minute variations in the F-5E that the A's doesn't have.
These would be the best planes for the PAF: F-5E ($2 million),JF-17 Thunder ($15 million),IAI Kfir (4.5 million). (ALL jets are priced under $20 million). What the governments wants: F-16 Block 50 ($36 Million),MAPO MiG-29 ($29 million) or F-18 Hornet ($ 29-57 million)
@ARVIGERARD Though you want to save some bucks I think buying those less capable jets is a waste of money. The Phil AF does not need fighter jets that will be decimated in a few seconds by jets such as Su-31s or MiG-29. What the Phil AF needs are COIN aircraft like the EMB 314 Super Tucano or the Pilatus PC-9M, helicopter gunships and troop transports even drone aircraft. Counter Insurgency is the name of the game nowadays and that's where the real threat is.
@ARVIGERARD To some extent but history shows fighter jets are not good COIN aircraft. It has been proven in Vietnam and now Afghanistan. That is why the USAF is buying more COIN aircraft. At this point expecting an invasion from another country is far-fetched. With scarce economic resources the Philippines cannot afford to buy those jets that you wish or the AF wish to have. It's better to concentrate on the problem in hand i.e. the insurgents in Mindanao and the poorly equipped and trained PNP.
@kathen111 a century, nobody was using planes back then, brother, the planes are probably cold war specials. war is more about tactics than weapons, ever heard of the afghans, they fought the russians with riffles and drove them back, it isnt about technology but tactics. remember, if you read history, the marcoses had f5s and f4s when they were still new, the mother of the current president sold them for 10 centavos to the dollar they were worth.

@kathen111 may be the best way is to really split the two, the church is the highest earner in your country, donations are tax free, in germany they tax religion. plus i think in some regards the church has too much entrenched into the politics of your country that the equation in which anything is made has at first should get support from the church before anything is passed. for a democratic country, i sense there is no democracy.

@manonalone may be things change man, in iran we are stuck at 3rd generation but the planes are our own designs, home made stuff from helicopters to tanks, philippines could buy f14s, these are 3.5 generations and these jets were shooting down 4 generation planes, its in the pilot sometimes, the start of the downfall of the army, navy and airforce was when marcos fell. hence, i think cory's son would sell everything now to his relatives at a discount.

We have to modernise the Philippine army, there's no denying that China's economic importance is growing in the Asia pacific and along with that comes the burden of acquiring resources to meet their growing industry and population. We can't let the Philippines be an easy target for them to acquire those resources. We need reform now!!! economics first and the welfare of our people then the army. BUT we have to act really fast!!

lololol this video is totally fake our fighter jets is OV-10 (used in VIetnam War) LOL and we have only few units like 8 - 12 lol we only have few heli transport which is an old heli used by Americans in Vietnam War again, our old WW2 fleet is from US, Britain, Australia, Germany, but we have 1 modern super carrier but we dont have any modern fighter jets and some frigates, corvettes, assault ship, submarine to escort the carrier :(

Today about 90% of of the Rank and file soldiers of the AFP are college graduate, they need a term until their retirement age. They need to be appointed just like other government workers.

@rankandfile1935 Unfortunately the military has it's own rules and law to follow. It is like that for all militaries not just the AFP. That's is why you have a court martial and not a regular court. If the enlisted person was dismissed unfairly then he can use his chain-of-command to request a separate hearing. Chain-of-Command is all the way to the Commander-in-Chief. Do you actually know your rights in the military? I presume you are an enlisted person or a former enlisted person in the AFP.

Limited ang assistance in terms of hardware at di para baguhin ang buong AFP. Be realistic! Do you think it's cheap to maintain and operate modern fighter jets which the Philippines doesn't even need. The PAF is better off with COIN aircraft, helicopters/gunships and troop transports than jet fighters.

PAF pilots are flying "coffins". Anytime they know their plane can develop mechanical trouble and crash cuz of corruption in the Air Force. How many young pilots died already cuz of this? I don't think we have anymore f-5's or even helicopters left. We only have Broncos, maybe some Italian trainer/attack jets and one or 2 transport planes.

I think the PAF have more manpower than the equipment they need to operate and maintain which goes to show that it's time to downsize the PAF. It has become a "rag tag air farce". Modernize and clean the PNP instead. Once the Philippines achieve peace and order then maybe prosperity will follow.

@deportwetbacks The USAF's 26th Aggressor Sqdn that were based at Clark flew F-5E not the Phil Air Force. It's hard to tell from the outside because they share the same airframe but there are some minute variations in the F-5E that the A's doesn't have.

@ARVIGERARD Though you want to save some bucks I think buying those less capable jets is a waste of money. The Phil AF does not need fighter jets that will be decimated in a few seconds by jets such as Su-31s or MiG-29. What the Phil AF needs are COIN aircraft like the EMB 314 Super Tucano or the Pilatus PC-9M, helicopter gunships and troop transports even drone aircraft. Counter Insurgency is the name of the game nowadays and that's where the real threat is.

@ARVIGERARD To some extent but history shows fighter jets are not good COIN aircraft. It has been proven in Vietnam and now Afghanistan. That is why the USAF is buying more COIN aircraft. At this point expecting an invasion from another country is far-fetched. With scarce economic resources the Philippines cannot afford to buy those jets that you wish or the AF wish to have. It's better to concentrate on the problem in hand i.e. the insurgents in Mindanao and the poorly equipped and trained PNP.

@kathen111 a century, nobody was using planes back then, brother, the planes are probably cold war specials. war is more about tactics than weapons, ever heard of the afghans, they fought the russians with riffles and drove them back, it isnt about technology but tactics. remember, if you read history, the marcoses had f5s and f4s when they were still new, the mother of the current president sold them for 10 centavos to the dollar they were worth.

@kathen111 what the philippines should do first is modernize their agriculture system, stop using the water buffalo and start using machines, in thailand, they use machines now supplemented by the government, even my shit of a government in iran uses machines. though i see your point, the only Philippine president who modernized was marcos, Ninoy in his speeches wanted to continue that though his wife did not and sold them for scrap to taiwan.

@kathen111 good words sir, i concur, she was a good woman nonetheless but she was the right person for the job. hard to say the press of the button, no country has a good missile defense system equated to the united states, china's capabilities are lackluster at best baradar, but they are catching up. iran's best missiles can only reach the pacific ocean, china's best missiles can reach to any western european block nation. though no se nation has adequate missile defense.

@kathen111 may be the best way is to really split the two, the church is the highest earner in your country, donations are tax free, in germany they tax religion. plus i think in some regards the church has too much entrenched into the politics of your country that the equation in which anything is made has at first should get support from the church before anything is passed. for a democratic country, i sense there is no democracy.

@manonalone may be things change man, in iran we are stuck at 3rd generation but the planes are our own designs, home made stuff from helicopters to tanks, philippines could buy f14s, these are 3.5 generations and these jets were shooting down 4 generation planes, its in the pilot sometimes, the start of the downfall of the army, navy and airforce was when marcos fell. hence, i think cory's son would sell everything now to his relatives at a discount.

@manonalone it is possible, we have chinese dragons as well in iran, not bad as a plane, we are know making 4th generation crap as well, right now only the americans have 5th generation flying, f22, the rest are just planning. the philippines can afford f16s, they are on sale right now. aquino's plans are different from his father, they are more like his mother, sell all government assets for the cheap like pagcor and such.
