I continue to listen very carefully to Chalmers Johnson. And I remember Eisenhower's words: "May we never confuse honest dissension with subversive disloyalty"...
This is extremely annoying to hear him say that we did not know right away who bombed the WTC. We were told in no uncertain terms about 3 minutes after the second plane hit the WTC that it was "Al Queda" Is he kidding?
@tgt305 There was a thorough investigation! OBL and Friends claimed credit for this dirty deed and the USA investigated the validity of their claims as well. A man can sneak into your home and assault you while you sleep, you wouldn't see it coming, but after the fact, the police will be canvasing the area, collecting evidence, and when he comes out and says "Oh yeah I did it!" it's that easy to find him and corroborate evidence.
@Grutch My house doesn't have a security service, cameras, and mounted guns. The police would also get adequate funding for an investigation that would begin ASAP, not months later.
Ron Paul 2012! We gotta make this happen, it may be the last chance we the people of America have at diverting the momentum our derailed government has created!
You know its funny how this beast has taken shape and built momentum. I can't reference any polls any of our news or research mediums conduct, but in my own personal experience well over 90% of the people I know are aware that the 9/11 attack is not what we have been told and that the war our country is waging is false and nothing but detrimental
There are far fewer Americans backing this country's actions than you might think.
The Soviet Union was brought down with synthetic telepathy, America is being brought down with synthetic telepathy. If it's all over it's all over. Lets see if there is anything left of Americans love of freedom and each other. Giving them (whoever they are) any more time is a mistake. philipnute com
People have to think bigger. We don't NEED a monetary system at all if we don't want it. The money system is a way to control people. Its only in use to keep you where you are.
Do you think there was a "financial system" when we got here? Or did we create it? It's a human creation. We give it value. It doesn't have to exist if we didn't need it to. So if its built entirely to control you, do you really need it?
It doesn't HAVE to exist for humans to survive, sure... but it enables a lot of things that would not be possible otherwise.
I'm not saying we need those things, but I'm saying a perspective as radical as getting rid of currency in general is not necessarily the right idea. It is being used to control people, that doesn't mean its the only way it can be used.
I agree with 99% of what he confessed. Accept, Once a person chooses Bankruptcy, they WILL NOT BECOME A PAUPER IF, they learn to live like Savers. I say, it's better to save a million dollars, and have a million dollars, and live free from financial worries. Than to Borrow a million dollars to look like a million dollars and have to pay back 2 millions, and ALWAYS have financial worries.
I'm from the US. So sad there are so little views of this video, the truth. Makes you feel like shit living here. There's 300 million Americans for cryin out loud.
the more likely scenario, which is really is happening, is that the US will gradually lose influence on the global stage in favor of multi-polar world;
US, EU, BRIC and probably Korea, Japan, South Africa, will all have to share power;
a nation with a small army, isolationist and focused on increasing it's own economy; corporate giants would fall if they corporatism took hold, through protests, boycotts etc. and new ones would have to appear; it would be like Armageddon or Ragnarök... a destructive event that would result in the US starting more or less from scratch;
but that is the absolute worst case scenario; the USA and Roman empire are not compatible; there's different technologies nowadays, a different culture...
Actually incorrect; everything, including the republican culture is the same; the only thing different is technology. You have your legions, you have your gladiators (hockey/football), you have your games and your have bread for the poor (farming subsidies). In fact the overall state (if you factor out the different technologies) of the social structure is the same.
we do NOT live in Antiquity!!! the US is not going to suffer the fate of Rome; no one will!!!
If the US continues it's counterproductive foreign policy, if it continues to increase the gap between the rich and the poor, continues on corporatism, continues having counterproductive economic policies, including having a huge defense budget.... it won't fall.... but it will lose it's status like a global superpower, becoming weak and, worst case scenario, returning to the state it was in the 1900s
Just look at the USSR 1990-1991. The US will go through that (but in a much harsher fashion, since it will no longer have the us $ as world reserve currency).
...if they were one day actually able to inform themselves of what's really going on domestically and in foreign lands - how corporations have invaded our govt, essentially bought congress etc, and, along with the MI complex (which indeed couldn't exist without massive corporations) have undermined our democracy in every way imaginable. I agree instead with people like Chomsky who believe stongly in the public - a public under massive decades-long influence of propaganda via the mainstream media
Brilliant yes. The man speaks the truth, unfortunately not heard in the mainstream media. I do take issue, however, with the 70/30 percentage he mentions of the American public for and against President Bush (or patriotically ignorant/for imperialism). That division of American society is highly questionable, to say the least, and I'd love to hear where he got it from. I do believe our public, when pressed with the right questions, are essentially social-democratic and would be horrified if..
What are they going to say 20 years from now in respect to this foreclosure mess? They are going to say that cities, states and individuals choose to let huge neighborhoods rot and fall into disrepair rather than let people live in them at an affordable price. Destruction over compassion.
This video was filmed in nineteen ninety three and was he right?
almost twenty years ago, scary thought! some one said once before
The problem with being intelligent it's that we know what's comming up next and the future looks very, very apocalyptic predicted right around the same time, over population, robotics, tech and a bunch of idiots in tux acting smart!
The simple fact is that you, the American people are the ones sitting around in your underwear watching TV. It is you that allow worthless people to be elected your representatives and Presidents. Obama, Bush, Clinton, Carter, all hand picked by the forces just a little above the military industrial complex, who's real agenda is to bankrupt the country. Yes, your beloved Pres., financed by the global elite, has perused every thing humanly possible to bankrupt you and your country
This is a perfect example of the difference between someone who knows and, in the case of Barry Soetoro, someone who is a liar and either does not understand or has an agenda to deceive as a policy.
If Barry don't know then why is he talking and if he does why is he not being Impeached for refusing to uphold his Oath concerning the laws of the United States?
The Defense of Marriage Act and attacking Libya. both Impeachable acts
I agree, attacking Libya is an impeachable offense, but they ARE enforcing DOMA.
Just after announcing that they would no longer defend it's constitutionality, they have continued enforcing the law in a case in northern California. [Karen Golinski v. U.S. Office of Personnel Management] They have merely chosen not to defend the statute's constitutionality in court, a decision for which there is ample precedent. (Bush & Clinton both did the same)
the man knows his stuff and is proving to be correct about economic collapse, recall that this vid was almost ten years ago!!!! the agent provocatuers incite revolt in a country then the cia kills the protesters and blames it on the regime.Hmmm sounds like the middle east.
uau a cultured american this is surprsing... i really like hearing intelligent well informed americans, its exotic like a two headed bird or something, this guys amazing... americans complained that ppl are against them but if they knew the state of their country, not counting with all their big houses and cars, just the huiman development side of society that servs the citizens and their happyness and their persue for better life... not robbing them to serve the ultra rich interests
I agree that the American public are "clearly wildly misled today by (media) propaganda". If a person only listens to U.S. television and radio it is impossible to ever know what's really going on in this country or anywhere else.
@Edmund001 try reading his books. I do not know where you arrive at the conclusion that he had a jumbled view, was pretentious, and only seemed to know what he was talking about. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Before you finalize yours, do yourself a favor, and read his last 4 books.
@MrBlueaxe I appreciate your manners. Its just that in the above video, he errs massively in his historical statements. I've read hundreds of book on the topic, so I know unstudied assumptions when I read them.
USA is in decline because it is becoming less White, less European. This is the main reason for the decline of America. I see it all around me every day in a thousand different ways. The darker USA gets the more chaotic and unstable it will become-- plain and simple. Ever read about and look at photos of Detroit in late 1800s? Late 19th century Detroit was more civilized than 21st century Detroit. A superior civilization gradually devolved into third world, replica of Africa.
Of course we are in decline! Just look at how under-educated you are with your ridiculous statement. I suggest you try reading. Try "A People's History of the United States" by Howard Zinn. Then I suggest you try reading some books on anthropology, because I see that you actually think race exists and that people of darker skin are sub-species. I also implore you to read some socio-economic studies regarding the fall of Detroit -- and how American industry has failed.
@grlbhvingbadly -name one city or neighborhood or school in America that IMPROVED when negroes started infiltrating. Name one place where the addition of blacks IMPROVED the quality of life for the White residents instead of eroding it. I say you cannot name a place, because every single school ot neighborhood that blacks invade goes downhill, without exception. Prove me wrong.
@AlfredSwearengen Poverty - IDIOT that's the cause, and being played be the system - oops sorry I am NERGO who lives in a very nice 'white' or what ever you call area in England and i don't really care what color someone is. You don't seem very well educated at all! :-(
@earthb15 - See? Even you want to get away from your fellow negroes by moving in with white people. You unknowingly proved my point about how undesirable it is to live around blacks. But when you moved in the quality of the neighborhood declined a bit. Property vales decreased incrementally. When a few more homies move in "white flight" will ensue and the whole place will collapse. Rinse, repeat.
@AlfredSwearengen I don't think you have a clue WTF you are talking about oh wise one, just making lame excuses because YOU are a dumb racist and in a perfect world i would stick the lots of you on an island so you can wipe each other out, and I mean all racists, Black, White, Red, Yellow etc etc. You could spend more on energy looking after this planet that is being destroyed by the silly human animal! PS: seen where coming on your youtube area......lessons not learn t again!!!! :-(
In this world we don't have "Niggers" or "Vannilas"... We have the human race... And our goal is to fight of primitive ideas of the imperialistic time...
This world is on the way to a war and you are sitting ehre comlaining about the color of some people?!
@RoManLP15 What are you? Another tolerant caucasian proving to everyone how color blind and racially oblivious you are? As if that were a virtue? Ignorant goyim like you will learn when you are white minority outnumbered and surrounded by non-whites, completely overrun by hostile blacks/browns and living at their mercy, ruled by them, assaulted by them, your women sexually attacked by them, when more of your income taken to support ever-growing population of welfare-dependant mud parasites.
your lucky the internet affords you a level of anonymity, because if it didnt you know a lot of people would probably come looking for you.
personally i would print all of your ignorant disgusting comments off and staple them to every door in your neighborhood, and then i would encourage you to laugh at your own superiority as I watched the mobs start covering you in hot tar and chicken feathers... and then hopefully lynch you.
Beware "weapons of mass distraction"- Chalmers nails it and so does Chomsky. We are in deep shit in this country and are so miss-educated by our so called educational systems that it's difficult to have hope of anything but increased repression; there will always be the "goons" ready to do the dirty work.
@loqiloqi "Can't we just pay our military contractors double their current rate to just sit home in their underwear and watch reruns of Gilligan's Island?
We'd be getting way more of our money's worth."
Trouble is they're being paid increasingly with borrowed money. When no more can be borrowed and the military/industrial pay checks start to bounce, they will take by force what they think is their due, and justify their actions with patriotism - a desire to save the country from chaos.
"The enormous gap between what US leaders do in the world and what Americans think their leaders are doing is one of the great propaganda accomplishments of the dominant political mythology." - Michael Parenti
Johnson deconstructed the fictions about Japan back in the 1970s and 80s, and he has illuminated the problem with America perpetuating its post-WWII military base global hegemony in perpetuity while the infrastructure rots at home. Just look at the latest batch of US Congressmen unable to even mention, let alone address, the defense budget as a major part of US debt besides entitlements.
If the US were REALLY wanted to secure its interests through imperialism -& the bottom line of it all is control = money- then the US would OBVIOUSLY be a wealthy country, not a super-endebted one.
In the end, who's the debt really owed to?
The actual dynamic appears to be the engineering of global CHAOS, through a panoply of means, & INCLUDING national chaos in the US, the aim being a global takeover by undemocratic forces with a GLOBAL perspective, quite devoid of national allegiances.
He certainly knows his shit. However, he doesn't outline the actual
powers controlling the world, nor seems too phased by it all. He worked for CIA of course.
He detais the erosion of american "empire" , while implicitly presenting this as some kind of unfortunate, unstoppable, institutionalized & almost "natural" mismanagement process. In actuality we're not looking at a "national situation" but at a much larger global dynamic, in which the US is merely being used as a pawn -NOT the brains.
The USA was a beautiful vision of man wanting the best for humanity. Somewhere along the line the people fell asleep and the leaders refused to heed to the warning "pride goes before a fall".
@fixrifex " The USA was a beautiful vision of man wanting the best for humanity." are u kidding?!?! The foundation of ur nation was based on murder and genocide. U eradicated the original inhabitants and stole their lands. All of u yanks have the native americans blood on ur hands. Ur ancestors were murderers and criminals. And u still are.
@albedoshader Why not do both? We have a solar system full of resources to exploit and have recently just begun to tap cornucopia technologies such as In Vitro Meat (Cultured meat).
@GodlessInfinity: In vitro meat is pretty much at the bottom of my list. I love science, ans I definitely love the MER missions, for example. But you sound a bit too "visionary" to me. Before exploitation of the resources of our solar system becomes feasible a lot more money than a few billions or trillions has to be spent. Not to mention the time for research we still need. Apart from that, what's the use of people on Mars from a practical standpoint - other than another American power fantasy?
In general the more base and unthinking a society becomes, the more inevitable it's decline becomes. In a way it seems like times of great plenty remove the selective pressures that made us into a sapient society building species to begin with, society self destructs as the people become more and more like the savage beasts we emerged from.
@sardonicbynature because the super rich don't want yu to have a good life. get it? They want you to be their slave. so that is what you are. go get good credit, obey the system. bow to your god.
Obamas military budget: $600,000,000,000.00. That is $2,000.00 for each & every man, woman & child in America! Meanwhile, our infrastructure, education & health care are being flushed down the toilet! Misguided???
We are Corporate America and WE RULE YOUR WORLD. We employ you. We enslave you. We pay less taxes than you. We take natural resources and claim them as our own. We profit by exploiting your world. We own Wall Street. We influence you to do less & consume more. We control the media. We control your minds. We control your children's minds. We addict you (to our brands). We afflict you day and night. We own you. We're your Corporate Rulers. You are expendable slaves. OBEY. In Corporations We Trust.

Lord, how western academics love to loathe their own culture, as if everything were sweetness and light outside. So the American empire = the Soviet Union (1:02:42) = Nazi Germany (34:50), and rabid lefty British papers like The Guardian are the only source of truth? Gimme a break.
@videowilliams "how western academics love to loathe their own culture, as if everything were sweetness and light outside."
____
And at what time does Johnson claim such a thing? Does Johnson loathe his culture? He doesn't write about culture. He writes about politics & the American empire.
And there are very alarming similarities between Nazi Germany & present-day America, specifically, rabid right-wing nationalism & its scapegoating of certain groups: liberals, illegal Mexcians, etc.
British Subject Christopher Hitchens promotes the Bush/ Obama/Kissinger/Rockefeller model of Anglo-American Empire under the banner of New World Order. Hitchens heartily endorsed the blockade of Iraq that precipitated the deaths of 500,000 Iraqi children. He supports the subjugation of Iraq by the U.S. 3 million Iraqis are dead as a result. Is this just a war for pelf or? For a handle on the military-industrial complex read and watch Chalmers Johnson.
Chalmers Johnson is brilliant, but I have one small issue. Around the 50 minute mark, he said that a nation can only default once; no one will lend to them again. But debt works differently for nations, since sovereignty gives them control of many kinds of asset regardless of their credit status. The Bolsheviks defaulted on Russia's debts, and within a decade, Western banks were queuing up to lend to them (and ignoring the fact that the Bolsheviks wanted to destroy them).
The pre-revolution Bolshevik party was supported by membership fees, selling papers, cadres marrying rich heiresses, bank robberies and piracy (Stalin's forte) and anything else that worked.
If you are implying any substantial support from Wall Street, you are probably the victims of some Lyndon Larouche - type propaganda that serious historians buried in the Soviet archives (Robert Conquest, Simon Sebag Montefiore and Robert Service are a great start) have no time for at all.
@parhhesia wrong on all counts, there's another book you've never read called Wall Street & the Bolshevik Revolution by Antony C Sutton fully referenced and backed up by official documents. It also documents the first American Red Cross expedition to Russia where almost every member of the group worked for a bank on Wall Street.

I suppose the more accurate way to put it would be to say that if the US defaulted on its loans then the US borrowing money from other countries would cease for a extended period of time until a president is put into office who would be ready willing and able to start paying the money back.
At that point, the Fed jacks up the interest rate to over 20% to encourage lending money to the govt, cars and homes would not be selling, and then a devastating recession would start.
cicero was a duch bag heil ceaser hahhahahaha. and fuck the republic the people need a strong state that will never fall. and btw our mil isnt spread to thin its just not at full power theres a 10% unemployment rate we could make our army 10X bigger!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i want my boss to pay me in .9999 gold coins for my labor 40 hour work week , not worthless paper dollars. i want to be free. this is a sign of decline of a weathy nation.
Isnt it funny that the politions can say they are for the people but what they really mean is "I want to keep my job." The real benefactor of democracy isnt the people (shocking sence demo; the greek root for people is right in the name) its the money. Who has the money the wealthy 1%. Its because they are powerful that the other 99% are left helpless
IM 17 YEARS OLD! THIS IS OBVIOUS TO ENEN ME!!! Democracy was the greatest idea in the world, until the ideas of self interest got tangled in
madhip ,I hear what you are saying, but do some research on what democracy leads to.
The forfathers who wrote the US Constitution spell it out in the Federalist papers(it is the worst form of Gvt),...that is why the constitution and bill of rights is so important.
Freedom requires YOU to participate .otherwise "your" democracy is taken over by the pychopaths and the self interests...& until people educate themselves and voice their say it will not change
Well I understand wat your saying and I agree to it to a point. What I really see flawed in that is that you need to believe that deep down the people, the "everyday man" is both responcible enough and smart enough to handle this task. That is something I just dont have. I look at the world and I lose faith in all but a select few in humanity.
People with an ambition for power, like are curently in office. Always fall to special interests and know they can manipulate us so there will.
but u said yourself that that 80% are sheep. Democracy plays a key role in stopping you. 80%>10% I may be a coward but I passed math. You dont have the votes. And your lucky if the other 10% hasnt gone postal in awhile
You do realize that dictators like the president of Iran were elected by the people, whether that was in an honest or dishonest race I dont know, but fact is fact he was elected.
The point is that once in power they do have the power! which means with enough support from other branchs of goverment or powerful figures in the economy, these democratically elected dictators can topple the democracy that lifted them up.
The source of the problem is simple. People like you and me.
See the interviews and lectures by Yuri Bezmenov here on youtube for how our Societies have been subverted.
Yuri goes into very good detail.
Check out Robert Arthur Menard's seminars; "Bursting Bubbles of Government Deception" and "The Magnificent Deception" for protection your unalienable rights as a one of the free and sovereign People at common law.
yeah, we should let our legions remain in middle eat, let them marry and live there for 30 years, or make those nations states and incorporate them so they can pay for the war or pay taxes, lol.
Racist ignorant arrogant pieces of space are one of the many reasons that I am happy to no longer live in usa. Get your facts straight. You have no idea, you are just a bottom feeder, not willing to see the big picture. People like you just dont get it and never will get it.
LOL, tell em' Khalil. I hauled ass to South Korea last month I am not looking back. Only thing I miss about the USA is mom's home cooked meals....thats it!!!!
I really like this guy. He's just as interesting as Chomsky. I really feel the American people have accepted all this government control due to distractions, media control, and lack the knowledge of how to make true change to make this country great again. It's all so complex and the signs of a big change are coming. We all need to get involved to have true representation of where we want this country to go. The depressionists went for it. Now we must get ours. Any suggestions?
History repeating, same shit through all centuries. Arrogance, desire of power and similar shit will bankrupt you. Roman Empire, Hitler's German Empire and other empires went exactly the same path repeating the same disastrous errors. Americans, your leaders didn't learn a history lesson and the collapse is inevitable.
I don't agree with his summation of Soviet collapse, it was rather ideological flexibility, perestroika was a major spur towards collapse, causing devastation within the Soviet economy. Gorbachev was a confused incompetent & far from the saint of Western lore.
Other than that this is a fantastic interview, well worth watching. Petraeus for President?
Meh, Obama isn't that great. He was definitely the best choice for the 2008 election, but he is still putting corporate interests above the interests of the American people.
He's corrupt like most other presidents. He just shut down a bill that imports medicine/drugs from Canada for more competition, which would save the American people 100 billion dollars over the next decade.
"Meh, Obama isn't that great. He was definitely the best choice for the 2008 election, but he is still putting corporate interests above the interests of the American people."
You can't see the first totally apart from the last.
Yeah, but the problem is the Corporations are only a collective in terms of money. They hold more influence over policy and legislation than the entire American population because they can afford to lobby so much more.
Also, the government is supposed to serve the interests of the majority without infringing the rights of the minority. What the government is actually doing is passing legislation that detriments the majority to satisfy the minority. (Corporate CEO's, Execs, etc)
The imposible split within mankind is, that rich people have a large influence on society, so if they mess up, the consequence's can be huge.
But when they do not have the opportunity to get rich, they will leave for "greener pastures", with al lot of unemployment and underdevelopment as a result.
Unfortunately, the knowledge is where the money goes.
They are bastards, but they are bastards we can't miss.
Living too 'high off the hog' allows others to undercut you economiclly

Just look at the USSR 1990-1991. The US will go through that (but in a much harsher fashion, since it will no longer have the us $ as world reserve currency).

...if they were one day actually able to inform themselves of what's really going on domestically and in foreign lands - how corporations have invaded our govt, essentially bought congress etc, and, along with the MI complex (which indeed couldn't exist without massive corporations) have undermined our democracy in every way imaginable. I agree instead with people like Chomsky who believe stongly in the public - a public under massive decades-long influence of propaganda via the mainstream media
Luke43168 8 months ago

If Barry don't know then why is he talking and if he does why is he not being Impeached for refusing to uphold his Oath concerning the laws of the United States?

@americanbandwidth

AlfredSwearengen 1 year ago
@AlfredSwearengen

The actual dynamic appears to be the engineering of global CHAOS, through a panoply of means, & INCLUDING national chaos in the US, the aim being a global takeover by undemocratic forces with a GLOBAL perspective, quite devoid of national allegiances.
suddenlyitsobvious 1 year ago 3
He certainly knows his shit. However, he doesn't outline the actual
powers controlling the world, nor seems too phased by it all. He worked for CIA of course.
He detais the erosion of american "empire" , while implicitly presenting this as some kind of unfortunate, unstoppable, institutionalized & almost "natural" mismanagement process. In actuality we're not looking at a "national situation" but at a much larger global dynamic, in which the US is merely being used as a pawn -NOT the brains.

Apart from that, what's the use of people on Mars from a practical standpoint - other than another American power fantasy?

In general the more base and unthinking a society becomes, the more inevitable it's decline becomes.

If you are implying any substantial support from Wall Street, you are probably the victims of some Lyndon Larouche - type propaganda that serious historians buried in the Soviet archives (Robert Conquest, Simon Sebag Montefiore and Robert Service are a great start) have no time for at all.
parhhesia 1 year ago

"Meh, Obama isn't that great. He was definitely the best choice for the 2008 election, but he is still putting corporate interests above the interests of the American people."
You can't see the first totally apart from the last.

A large portion of corporate interests, is also the people's interest.

Like what? I know a lot of Corporate interests that are detrimental to people's interests.

Sure, but every collective has it's points that could pose certain disadvantages for the people in and around the corporation.
People serve a collective/corporation or even a country, rather than the other way round.
But that doesn't mean there is nothing to gain from it, personally.

Where are they going to go? They aren't going to go anywhere, and there are middle grounds.
You're speaking from under a false dichotomy of ultra rich and powerful oligarchy to a complete command economy.
