  • who whatches the queens speach anyway lol... boring shit, personally i wouldnt mind not having a queens speach every year. hes got my vote lol

  • This the block who sold us out to the tories? My mum rather dislikes him.

  • I wonder should I have Agreed with Nick?

    /watch?v=MqlTJ8OLE9A

  • because he is hot and smart

  • I'd go so far as to say there should be no Queen. I mean who elected her?

  • Who knows why progress is slow? I do .. we carry our past into the future. It won't work. That's why its called "past" and "future" is a new begining. Although, we must not forget our past. Especially the mments or events or things we take pride in. We must record and keep them. The Royal Family is simply old school. We must record it and move on, period!!!

  • lol at brown talking to cameron like hes a FREIND pahah

  • used car saleman. nothing more. eurocrat. higher taxes. prisoners let out early or not even jailed. the vast majority of british people do not like this lying fake.

  • @maltloaf6000 higher taxes? what about the £10000 tax free threshold for all taxpayers? £700 back in the pockets of everyone who earns at least £10k a year, that's £14 a week!!!

  • The queen is a boring anyway. Glad someone wants to shut the bitch up

  • LIB DEM FTW!!

  • Got a job with Sky, have you?

Well, isn't your mother fucking herself now.

  • I'm looking for hints of how he managed to bed 30 women.

  • @darkarts59 He opened a copy of Playboy?

  • @darkarts59 no he didn't, it's bollocks, watch the itv documentary on nick clegg

  • @darkarts59 If he did, they must have been incredibly stupid bimbo's or incredibly drunk! Still they say, love is blind.

The thing I want to know the most is whether they actually want to remember that they did!

  • I'd say reducing maximum parliamentary terms to four years is fair, but the fact that a motion of no confidence can in fact change government when necessary is important. Look at America; I'm sure they could have gotten out of Bush earlier if they didn't have fixed four year terms.

  • VOTING LIB DEM 2010!

  • He looks oriental, has he had botox?

Or has he been drinking too much Kiora?

  • Clegg is absolutely right and the only person who can bring real change to this country

  • @liarpoliticians : and which party do you think is a convincing one? cos its definitely not conservative.

  • @BenedictGreening Nick Clegg is going to take the country in the opposite direction to where it should be going. We want to be more harsh on criminals, he will "rehabilitate" them and let them out early. He is supporting the Euro membership, which would be uneconomical for Britain. He is going to invest masses of money trying to train immigrant employees when there are British people who are looking for work.

Conservatives are the only party that seem to have more sense.

  • @BenedictGreening this man was the only one who made sense

  • 0:10 I've always been intrigued by this Dermot GENT who

    SOUNDs/Looks IRISh. Is he married?

Either way,he's SEXi compared to english=PaedoLOOKing daveCam. I doN't think the eyebrows are thatSEXy but I'm NOt Perfect either! I'll be even worse, prob.Dead soon, so Dermot M.'s lady/ladies (or men ?!?) needN't worry

  • BenedictGreening , Are you perchance being cynical? Or was this posted before all his new antics. Mind you he certainly has made real changes to this country, but not for the better.

Maybe he wants make the Queens Speech himself, maybe a cross between Dame Edna Everage and Kenny Everett, no I really don't want to think about that any more..Too Scary!!!

Let's just keep the Queens Speech thank you!!!!

  • I think the Queen should write her own speech. It will be better than this government's speech!

  • Fuck off Clegg, we only get to hear from the Queen once a year, you have had plenty long enough to hand on a "cleaner better politics"Mr Clegg could of called for a emergency programme of parliamentary reform months ago

  • Erm, that's exactly what he did. You do realise the Queen doesn't write that speech, right? That it's written by the PM, and she has to read it out? Dear me, back to school for somebody.

  • whats the point of her anyway. it is really time to streamline parliament and stop living in 1600. clegg is right, time is running out. ditch the pomp and start working.

  • @johneunson The Queen brings in massive amounts wealth to the country. Plus, she would probably do a better job of running this country that Nick Clegg, he's an absolute twat with unbelievably awful policies.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14 she brings in some wealth. we spend a lot of money we can ill afford on her family members ...pr. andrew, air miles, and security for his children. as well as the other royals on the peripheries who cost much money and resent paying tax. as for nick, he knows he will never run the country. he will, however, be the 'king maker'. historically this role was thought to be the most powerful in the land. not bad for a 'twat' with 'awful' policies.

  • @johneunson She is a monarch and a big part of our British history, the royal family should be treated with respect, not thrown to the side, and to let politicians patronise them is embarrassing.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14 she is firstly a human being and a mother. it is up to the individual to gain respect. i have respect for the queen. i believe she works hard. as a mother she has not successful. what will happen after elizabeth is anyones guess. by the time william succeeds it will be a very different monarchy. the attitudes to priveledge have changed, people no longer believe in outmoded traditions.

  • @johneunson People no longer respect the royal family because the politicians have taken power, the media also is a big part to play. The BBC is left wing, the Royal family is right wing. Therefore the media are going to have a bias view, influencing everyone who reads or watches.

The Lib Dems haven't ever been a party that has ever looked as if being elected, and here is Nick Clegg trying to persuade public that THE QUEEN OF ENGLAND should scrap her speech. What right does he have?

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

"The Queen brings in massive amounts (of) wealth to the country". I'd be very grateful if you could please explain how, why, and when

  • @kidcalabria Tourism. All year round. £36 million a year. It's not all about money either. The royal family have been a huge part of our countries history and to start saying stuff like "There should be no Queen's speech" is just like scraping a traditional part of our British history. In my opinion our British history is a large part of our identity as a country.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14 Young people come to London for its nightlife, clubs, etc.. not the Queen. Buckingham Palace or Windsor Castle can attract tourists on their own; nobody sees Versailles & thinks it'd be better with Louis XIV in it. The Royals cost millions, own land, there are 100s of them & they do nothing. If history is privilege, money & power for no merit, then it's time to change

  • @kidcalabria If you have noticed, almost all other countries without a royal family wishes they had one. We should feel lucky that we still have ours. I know the Queen no longer have any power because people now want democracy. But from a historic point of view the royal family are a huge part of our British identity...

I take it you think we shouldn't have a royal family.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

That is just not true. Holland, Spain, Denmark, etc.. all have Royal families. Italy has the Savoy Royal family & prefers to be a republic. The only positive thing about the Queen is that we have a head of state that represents the nation even when we have a lying Prime Minister starting illegal wars like Tony Blair, but if they cost us a fortune, have a monopoly on land, decide who can & can't open shops in Piccadilly Circus, and worse, we don't need it

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

There's no such thing as "British identity". Britain is a political invention; people feel English, Scottish, etc.. Cultural identity doesn't rely on Royalty. This country has had many Royal families. The Windsors are German, & Windsor an assumed surname. Our identity comes from Shakespeare, Wordsworth, Elgar, Byron, Blake, Bacon, Locke, etc.. but people know nothing about it hence they grab onto Prince Philip & The Sun to feel they have an identity. It's called ignorance

  • @kidcalabria As a british person I want to keep our Queen. I'm proud of our royal family and think they should be respected and their decision [of what little they make now] should be backed by politicians. The Lib Dem voters seem to me like the sort of people who don't care about the British identity and are not proud to be British. They are just worried about being "fair" to other nationalities before putting British people first, which in my opinion is the wrong direction.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

The Lib Dem talk of a fairer society. Newspapers recently have been full of how 53% of Londoners live in poverty, while the Royals live in luxury without any merit.. I don't understand what you mean by "identity", but if it's threatened simply by the existence of others it cannot be very strong to start with. I want Britain to remain a free, tolerant, diverse, progressive country; to me that's what being British is all about

  • @kidcalabria The Lib Dem talk about a fairer society but in the wrong ways. They want to tax people who earn over £150,000 50% of their income! If I worked that hard to earn that much I would be pretty pissed that they would want to tax me that much. They are so lenient on immigration policies, and unemployment policies, it's sickening.

The newspapers that are saying that are LEFT WING newspapers, which will obviously will take the side of the less fortunate over the royal family.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

The statistics about poverty came from the institute of national statistics. I read it on the Evening Strandard which is definitely not left-wing, in fact the opposite. You seem to think that the Queen should have absolute power & that democracy should be abolished (!). It doesn't take a genius to realize how wrong & disastrous such a scenario would be. You have the right to your opinion but don't expect me to agree with it

  • @kidcalabria I do not think that the Queen should have absolute power, that would be silly. I think the Queen should be respected like all other members of the royal family before our time. Democracy has made people forget that they can't have a say in most things, plus they have lost respect for powers higher than themselves. Democracy has gone to far, the new prime minister should take more power than Gordon Brown has over the last few years. Margaret Thatcher did a fantastic job! Agree?

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

No, I don't. She was Hitler in a skirt. Democracy is government of the people, from the people, for the people & we don't have enough of it. Politicians constantly abuse their power, like in the expenses scandal. Did you know that the results of the Dr Kelly investigation can't be published till Blair, Brown & co are in power or able to be prosecuted? That's legalized murder, & if it can happen to Dr Kelly it can happen to everybody, you too

  • @kidcalabria The expenses scandal has nothing to do with how much power they have. That is just because they are bad politicians, not abusing their power.

As for the Dr Kelly investigation, I'm not quite familiar with to be honest so I can't really comment on that. All I'm trying to say is that the royal family shouldn't get shunted out. They do have more benefit that expense. If you don't believe that they you should look into it more, + Nick Clegg has awful policies that will ruin Britain.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

The money parlamentarians are paid in their stipends are paid by us. If they claim fraudolent expenses, don't pay them back, & the results are blacked out in reports & websites, they're stealing and getting away with it. This doesn't happen with normal people with no political power, hence IT IS MOST DEFINITELY ABUSE OF POWER, abuse of the mandate they've been given. It seems like you have a peculiar version of democracy, somewhat different from the rest of the world

  • @kidcalabria Stealing money from the taxpayers isn't abusing a position of power. For example, benefit fraud is stealing money from the taxpayer on a lower level, but they don't have any power within Britain.

Democracy in Britain should be limited to someone who knows what is best for the country. Naturally everyone wants to have a say in what should happen, but realistically we should give more power to a good leader rather than the public.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

Benefit fraudsters are not elected by the people, they do not abuse electors & go to prison if caught, unlike MPs who fiddled their expenses, who are meant to make the laws, not break them! Democracy for who knows best? And who would that be? Prince Harry wearing swastikas or William spending 1000s for state planes to see his girlfriend? You mean oligarchy, not democracy. Are you for real? Be careful about what you wish for, my friend. And btw, this conversation is over

  • @kidcalabria A part of me wants the Lib Dems to get elected so you can see how much they fuck up this country. Thank god I know they won't, seeing as everyone seems to have come to their senses the last few days.

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

I'm not a Liberal Democrat supporter. But of course, you know best, don't you? Democracy for those who know. You talk about "British Identity" but forget that democracy is part of that identity. Read your previous comments with awe at how misinformed you are. If democracy was only for those who know you would not be among them, that's for sure. And which part of" this conversation is over" you find hard to understand?

  • @TheCharlieGreen14

Please, bear also in mind that the first to speak recently against poverty were Prince William and Boris Johnson, who are not left wing. You seem to forget that Britain was the first European democracy & it exported it to the rest of the world, which like other things which originated in Britain (workers' unions, universal suffrage, the welfare state, fighting & defeating fascism, etc.) are the things that make Britain great

  • What next abolish the Monarchy?? Thats the last time I support a Lib Dem arguement.

  • He's not saying he's against the Queen, or even the tradition of Queen speech. He's just saying the timing of it at the trail end of the parlimentary term with no time to implement the governments wish list of policies that they've had a decade to try and sort out. He's calling for parliment to focus on sorting out the expenses crises, and reforms to the political system e.g. fixed term elections, elected members of house or lords, etc. before parliment ends, in place for the successor.

  • Really he's just trying to get the mesage out to call for a sense of urency of long needed reforms to the political system that can be done now, rather than left to the successor which I agree. But saying to do this instead of the Queen Speech is the means by which he gets this into the headlines, which is a shame that Lib Dems have to do sometimes to get some coverage of important policies.

  • Well lets be honest this Govt is useless and i wish the Queen would tear up the speech and call a General election in time for Christmas and we can get a new government to sort everything out.

  • what a load of lies

  • Probably because they fear she'll speak her mind!

  • Her actions speak more than her lack of words. Despite New Labour clearly being the absolute worst, morally corrupt, politically corrupt, incompetent government the UK has had in it's entire history, she says nothing. That is an endorsement from her for New Labour in my book.

  • @TheLordRose LOL she never actually speaks her mind. That would be against the constitutional law. The queens speech is really the queen reading what the Prime Minister has wrote.

  • @Tzimnewman3

No, I know that she holds no power but there is nothing to stop her from simply disagreeing. Of course she won't because she holds a seat at the table of the Bilderbergs and is profiteering from the same thing all the other politicians are.
