  • Wide Receiver #8 at bottom of the screen @29 seconds is why this play was successful. Receivers who think all you need to have is speed and hands need to think twice and watch GT receivers. I'm not even a Georgia Tech fan but their wide receivers know how to block!!!

  • number 8 had a nice crackback at :29

  • Very good breakdown- helpful. It's interesting to me that the PST had a loop call instead of the usual veer.

  • doesnt work outside the ACC. aka... Go Dawgs. Oh and half of those cut blocks are chop blocks.

  • go UTES

  • Wow, my coach was serious. We run the same thing at my highschool

  • Nice breakdown of that play

  • Called Inside Veer...alley safety is QB player but he got his ass re-arranged. Corner has to REPLACE the crack block. He is pitch guy he got to far outside. If the ball gets outside the numbers, the cornerd fucked up..if it gets in the alley, the safety fucked up and if it gets between the tackles, the End fucked up.

  • And that is how it's done! GO JACKETS!!!

  • BRONCOSS

  • 1 PERSON CANT DEFEND THE TRIPLE OPTION,HAHAHAHAHAHAH,GO JACKETS!!!!

  • Good execution from GT but this play could have been blown up had the DE gone right after the QB (he really bit on the fake to the FB) that would have allowed the OLB to key on the sweeping pitchman. Maybe the DE was assigned to the FB this play (probably the MLB was), but he needed to go after the QB once it was obvious the play was coming his direction. He does eventually get him from behind but not until it forced the MLB to commit to the QB. Good fakes, Clemson bit on them all.

  • @weshbaug What the hell are you talking about? That wasn't a "fake" to the B-Back. That was a basic read by the QB (you can see him reading the DE and holding the mesh until the DE turns his hips towards the BB). That kind of the whole point of the option.

  • @dotson72 That is correct....GO JACKETS!!!!!

  • @weshbaug not a fake, its a read, if the DE goes wide - the ball is given to the FB; the DE attacks FB - the ball is pulled and QB runs it

  • Looks like a rugby play

  • I still don't understand why potential D1 runningbacks avoid option schools like the plague. Tall passers, yes. WRs? I understand, but only halfway: A WR in an option offense is virtually guaranteed man coverage-a reciever's dream.

Should Blue-Chip O-lineman avoid option colleges? I'll agree mostly, since he'd get a fraction of the experience with pass-blocking he'd need in the NFL. Go GT!

  • great video!

  • Vicious blocks all around....this is just a case of the offense knowing exactly what they half to do.....and the defense not being able to stop it

  • Great execution

  • The D-line doesnt "Cheat" That is a standard 4 man alignment with a two 5 techs with interior 1 technique and 3 technique. Triple Option teams always want to run veer to the one technique because it makes the reads easier and the FB path better. Also I would say in a 4-3 Defense the MLB wants to play deeper than normal because he plays from FB to QB to Pitch and he needs to be able to scrape over top. Great execution from GT and great job from the Center scooping the 1 tech

  • great video, loved the slow-mo and seeing the blocking scheme and reads

  • I still had to watch it several times, even with the slow motion. Thomas nailed his guy, and Jones (I think?) cut his long enough to spring the play.

I really love watching this offense.

  • I'm glad you did this in slow motion. The game-speed execution is ridiculous.
