  • Wow, Ritchie and the band sound absolutely awesome! I don't know how Poco, S-H-F, etc, never became as big as they should have been! This is awesome, though! Thanks for posting it! BobbyK

  • This was on the Souther-Hillman-Furay album that absolutely kicked butt!...could've been a supergroup with the talent they had...some excellent songwriters & musicians ( also included Jim Gordon and Al Perkins) !

  • craig8754, I was at that same show, grew up in Bayonne-many good memories of that stadium, lost more than a few brain cells also, lol! awesome show by them that night, thanks for inspiring that good memory

  • Richie, Please come back to your roots and save me in your music.

  • I love the record version of this song. This live version is too dirty.

  • SH&F hit #27 in Bilboard, 10-5-74. God bless ya, brother Richie!

  • Saw S.H.F. in Roosevelt stadium Jersey City N.J. they rocked. Since America is to stupid ( the group that is ) to allow Dan Peek back in , it would sure be nice to see him and Richie hook up and tour.

  • @craig8754 seriously, he wants back in and they won't let him in? or did he make a concious choice to leave secular music behind. i think richie has found a comfortable place to balance incidentally.

  • @RHarris 1955 92.7

  • I remember wlir, i believe it was 93.7. what a great radio station. they don't do it like that anymore

  • Thank you for these wonderful "memories" !!!!!

  • Furay converted to evangelical Christianity. Tensions among the members increased. Souther and Hillman formed the satiric "Heathen Defense League" in reaction to the efforts by Furay to save them.

Boy, Jesus and Yoko sure know how bust up a good band.

  • @Lotus4115 No pun intended but...'Geez, you got that right!'

  • @Lotus4115 Ironically Chris Hillman became a believer along with Roger McGuinn, Bernie Leadon and Al Perkins.

  • SINGING ALONG!! woooo!!!

  • Oh my gosh! I was sitting at the front table for this concert. This is awesome. He performed with his band composed of former members of the christian rock group "Love Song" Thanks so much for this wonderful trip down memory lane. Any more from that night? :)

  • one of the most underrated songwriters in america....agree with mike too...thanks for posting the photos...GREAT...and vox...the album version is great and hopes someone posts...

  • NEED SHF anyone PLEASE post

  • LOVE the SHF Band photo-montage. I have never seen those photos. Thanks for posting them!

  • I LOVED "My Father's Place" & WLIR (great years)

  • Could somebody possibly post Richie's 1 solo top 40 hit, 'I still have dreams'? I'd love to hear how that sounds. God bless!

  • Anybody got the full band version with JD and Chris, along with Richie. Please post it if ya do. Original hit #27 in Billboard. God bless! Richie's a pastor now. Praise God!

  • @DaveWollenberg I would like to hear the album version too. Also, 'Mexico'. If anybody has, please post.
