Running a knobby (MTB or CX) tire on rollers can produce a pretty loud roar/whine - exacerbated in a confined space (i.e. indoors) and fairly noticeable to neighbors in an apartment. If you'd like to run a MTB on rollers, I would recommend swapping tires to a set of slicks if you don't mind swapping tires or get a pair of "beater" wheels that you can keep slick tires on and just swap those out when riding rollers.
how hard is it to mount and dismount?
