Car is beautiful has been my dream since i was 8 to have one of these. im now 23 wanted to find one and rebuild it with my grandpa but i lost him in 2009 he was 65 only other person who loved cars in my family i miss him still hope to someday find one and rebuild her and also a crown vic police edition to honor his memory he was a chief of police
In the book it also said christine had a gm tranny, colum shift which you know the the autos were push button. Stephen king was no car guy haha. Its tobad they had to rush the movie an dident make it with more of the books influence. Still a shame so many savoys belvederes an furys were trashed though
@borednesslife Well, the book says Christine was a 1958 Fury but in fact she was more like a Belvedere with some Fury specific options like the 150mph speedometer. My car has no Fury options at all...
@Genners111 It's like this since I bought the car in 2008...never worried about it. Normally she fires up within a second but after a few weeks or months she's a little bitchy...
i live in the uk, and i have watch the film so many times on dvd that i have had to have 9 diffrant copies of it, i have the sound track on my phone and soon hopeing to get a model while i'm saveing up to get my very own christine i dont care what it take i want one.. awsome film, awsome car
The motor in the movie was the factory big block 318 two fours dual points only made 750 of them speedometer goes to 150 the one in my video is the 318 big block, your car is still beautiful
@profruss The 318 was the standard small block V8 poly engine, in 1958 the only big block was the (optional) 350 "Golden Commando" engine - the one they showed in the movie. Your car has the Dual Fury V-800 engine and indeed the 150mph speedo, that's impressive. Are you sure it came from factory that way? This engine was the standard engine for the 58 Fury and not available in other models, same with the 150 mph speedo. I really like the Suburban, would look good beside my Christine! :-)
she seemed to take an awful long time to register oil pressure! I take it that oil light does go out lol but still a very nice car. I have to get one!
Wow... I'm now even more in live with this car then I was before this little movie!
It's great some of Christine's sisters are still driven instead of gathering dust somewhere! She looks and sounds truly beautifull, I hope you enjoy her as mutch as you can ;)
@AudioMobil haha, yes i did but that was about the grinding of the starter and you said it was because of the remote start. i asked why i seemed to hear a clunking noise when starting around 0:57 because my fathers does the same thing but he said he doesn't know what it is.....
@helmuthoorn What do you mean, the fury's' or the other 3 models Plymouth had? Fury's' were only available in Sand Dune White for '57, while '58 was limited to Buckskin Beige. Egg shell white was an option for the other lines, unless it was a color the Plaza wasn't allowed.
@retroolschool Well looks like I'm screwed. Unless, I were to buy some other 50s-60s plymouth model that looks like a Christine, repaint it. Redo the entire thing. Fix an engine, because I've seen cheap practically destroyed, engine-less ones for like 200$.

beautiful car, question though. What is the button you pressed before you turn the key to start it? I figured it might have been a button to prime the carb.
Hi there, I didn't press any buttons, I just turned the ignition off and on again before starting. I know, there's no need to do this...actually I don't know why I did it? :-)
u need dual chrome headers dude and the origional plymouth furies came in beige and other colors but in the book lebay said his brother painted it red and pearl white
@jerste3360 Its a hard and expensive process but we took a 1959 mercury and burned off reformed and banged some metal and made it look just as close as christine.
yeah.... he has a belvedere. I guess that's why he has a 120 speedo. The Fury had a 150 speedo. I hope i didn't hurt his underaed felings but that just the way it is. Truth be known
This is about the third time I watch your video, and have to tell you that in CHRISTINE the movie, when Arnie is about to leave Leighs house in the pouring rain, and you know the rest with Dion and the Belmonts on startup, this is is one of the coolest things Ive ever seen!!
but i any one really pays close attention when they show the carbs all banged up and they cut out and then come back the motor in the real Christine is a 350 Chevy
Christine had bumper wings as well, a 150mph speedo, different interior, power brakes and a different engine of course...but that doesn't matter to me! :-)
i actually expected her to come flying down the drive way and run the camera over!! lol
i really wish they would have made a Christine 2 as well..
I actually wrote story ideas myself on it..
you know story plot setting imagine all of sudden she is back from the junk yard more pissed than ever!! her lover is dead they tried to crash her up then flatten her squash her and turned her into a cube at the junk yard I think she would be more than pissed
i thought have it she was in the junk yard for at least 2 decades (brings us to current date or so) she waits it out because her revenge is to come after the family, the kids of the people who squashed her.. all of them
i mean the junk yard owners kids and so on..
have it no one at first knows who or why
but when christine targets dennis and Leigh's 17 or 18 year old children that's when it all falls in to place and Dennis knows exactly what is going on and its up to the family to well you know
The transmission was controlled by a cable assembly. I'm not sure but I believe there is a cam type device in the shifter selector box that moves when you press the buttons. In the earlier years of the push button there was no park selection, so you had to use your parking brake.
A definite higher quality video, nice job! I've always liked Christine, and I always wanted to see a" Christine 2". The studio said they didn't want to do a second movie because the cars are so rare now. But hollywood has alot of money...maybe if they built some fiberglass replica bodies??? I would like to see Christine on the big screen again!

She's a sweetheart!....you're so lucky to have her. and it was a nice touch to put in the song "i wonder why" right when she fired up. cool vid...keep us posted!!
awesome, i was waiting for you to say come on christine when she wouldnt start strait away lol, love all these clips of her on youtube and i have the diecast of her
nice car, question for you, your car has 58 tail lights, but the trunk emblem is from a 57. was ur car a 57 that u turned into a 58 or did u just like the 57 trunk emblem and leave it on?
F*ck you!!!!!! :D Gosh, I envy you sooooo badly dude!!!
Awesome! Incredible, amazing, superb, marvellous! OmGod... I just had an orgasm when the radio came on! Dang!!!!! You're the luckiest dude on Earth! XD
I loved the cover at early seconds... looked quite sinister! And... dang I've got a Volvo C30... you know, its new, its quiet, its lol... so fucking perfect that makes it boring. Yours has soul on its sounds! GREAT! Thanks for sharing. Good vibes from Greece!
Thanks a lot, I really love this sound...and the special smell of gas mix with oil and exhaust fumes! :-) A friend of mine from Greece is currently restoring a *real* 1957 Fury, there are some videos of his car on youtube as well.
I'm considering to start restoring an old car here too. Some options from vehicles I've seen around are a 70's Mercedes, an early 60's Volvo and there's a Ford Edsel in Santorini... owner has passed out and old lady doesn't wanna sell it - though it needs work to get in shape again. Oh well, I'll see what I'll do.
One of the most gorgeous cars ever to roll of an american assembly line. I want one soooo bad! Near Carlton, MN, off a dirt road in the woods theres not one, but two 58' belvederes layin in a mangled heap in a creek bed. One's a convertable. Both were bulldozed over in the late sixties.
I remember seeing photos of a giant heap of old, burnt out cars, there was a 57/58 Surburban as well. Do you have any photos? Are there any useable parts left?

They don't build cars anymore, they just copy-paste them. Greedy bastards. *sigh

Congrats, once again.
