the overdrive channels are setting pretty bad. but maybe he likes this sound. I'm sure that with another setting it sounds much more better. we need a proper test for this amp, this was pretty poor.
Good demo. But I really think it would have been best if Nuno himself did the demo on this amp, since it was his brainchild after all. Besides, his chops are just a little bit better than yours my man. No offense. Now, what to buy.... the Carvin Legacy (Vai's brainchild) or this one. Hhhhhmmmm... It's gonna be a tough one boys.
Clean sounds decent but the higher gain distortion sounds buzzy and fizzy. I'm guessing there are ways to get different sounds out of it though, although I could be wrong. Sadly it reminds me of my Boss Metal Zone medal days back before I could afford a Boogie.
The NBKing sounds great in this video! It definitely has a hot-rodded Marshall vibe going on, but the low end chunk and saturation on the distortion modes kinda remind me of a Mesa Rectifier.

I tend to agree with some of the other comments here. I liked the clean channel but I found that the overdrive channel lacked definition and clarity.

It's pretty fizzy at high gain. Prefer the Marshally Crunch sound earlier in the demo.

They say "All-Tube" head, but there is no mention at all about the preamp tubes! Are they 12AX7's? How many?
zzlong55 8 months ago
@zzlong55 I know that the 1x12 combo has 4 preamp tubes. 1x12AT7 for the P.I. and 3x12AX7 for the clean and drive circuits.

A standard GL-56 has Seymour Duncan Pearly Gates at the bridge. The GL-56 in the video has had the std. bridge pickup change though.
