  • step 1 would be - live somewhere you like. well that's that plan out the window unless you're a millionaire then......

  • really informative and interesting

  • you have some great stuff here

  • Does anyone else find the stories about doctors and hospitals to be horrific? None of what she says surprises me, but damn, it sure confirms why I cannot stand most doctors, specialists and hospitals.

  • @koffeewitch - they're a disgrace and it's disgusting. they don't diagnose anything properly and they don't seem to know how to do basic stuff either (first aid bandaging, leaving air bubbles out of a drip..). the things i've experienced and witnessed in western medical care (scotland) are truly awful and in no way connect with or go near to helping with healing and therapeutic anything at all.

the things i've been told by some nurses etc are even more horrifying in many ways.

  • Why do i fall asleep while watching it?

  • Kosher center lol

  • I think Dr. Rachel Naomi Remen is an amazing women!

  • As she at the beginning we are so busy in life that we forget about what we have in our desire to reach what we don't taking all our blessing for granted. It is in is to make the difference in people life's .

  • A great story teller, I really enjoy it. I only wish more people would appreciate this kind of sharing and be thankful for the motivation and inspiration....

  • What a beautiful talk that was. Thank you :)

  • She's a great story teller.

  • She describes herself as a story teller. She is right and was very enjoyable to hear the wisdom about life within her stories.

  • her expressions as unknowable purpose is for life and suffering beside the expression art of living makes her speech a great public speech ...

she could be a great author writer theatrical performer

and apperantly she is a great theraphist i wonder what methods what researches case studies statistics todays young minds cares consider to justify of her intellectual moral nihilizm in the age of reason

  • lol @ anyone who clicked that dislike button!...! -_-?

  • As more doctors have come to embrace non-conventional health treatment options, I believe that the term "alternative medicine" is becoming obsolete. Exercise is considered "alternative medicine" yet you would be hard pressed to find a doc who wouldn't recommend it.

  • kinda hate her voice :-\

  • @bnote1990 I'll remember to laugh my ass off when you're a senior

  • you are talking actual nonsense.

you tell stories of stories that end with different stories.

you undermine every statement you make.

if this is what makes you feel satisfied....well...

  • A profound lecture on the meaning of life may be boring to some, but it is never a waste of time.

  • wow what a wonderful lecture and experience...

  • Why waste your time making negative comments about a speaker who wants to help other people live better. Science or "pseudoscience" has nothing to do with it. Dr. Remen has some cool things to say.

  • You cannot ignore the fact that many of the claims by Art of Living are unsubstantiated and exaggerated. Art of Living is, in essence, a pseudoscience. And a silly cult. It's interesting how Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, a man with no college education, acts as if he's the greatest doctor who has the cure to HIV.

All this is so typical of alternative medicine.

  • Of course If your dying of cancer your not like gonna start complaining. The shit has hit the fan. You're gonna be greatfull because you don't want to die. True, Life is sweet compared to death.

  • Maybe I can be a road digger and pretend I am a million aire, or have a M.D. and be like this woman. This woman obviously didn't need to write a story, she wasn't sweeping shit of the pavement for low payment.

  • This amazing women just waisted 59 minutes of are lives. Today is a new day. Go write your own story.

  • Fantastic!!!

  • What moving words from Dr. Remen. I'm grateful for having heard them.

  • This is such truth. Disease is a gift in the effect it can have on the soul, it gives one the chance to re-evaluate there life and focus on things within the here and now.Everything happens for a reason, even if we don't like what it is.

  • I couldnt agree more. I was an extreme alcoholic for 12 years but havent had a drink in 18 months. I truly feel like I am living for the very first time. Sometimes I wonder if anyone else is as glad to be alive as me.

  • You cannot write a story if you are in denial.

  • Disease is not a gift to life. There are good and bad things in life that exist. We humans are the ones to make decisions for ourselves, we decide what to make of from good or bad circumstances. We cant rely on nor justify the existence of bad things eg.disease as though they are the apparatus to help strengthen us in life. It should not be attributed to the disease, but ourselves for making the right decisions, given a bad situation.
