  • Sounds great as ever. Here's to lots of awesome new music in 2012! :D \m/

  • For the one riff, are you playing the root note then doing a hammer on then playing the root note again to make it thirds? Thats what it sounds like to me. Can you do this kind of metal in drop d? I know it wouldn't sound as good but yeah. Maybe if I did drop d down half a step? Like do drop d, but then tune all the other strings down half a step? Would it work and sound better then? Thanks. =]

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Other than the hammer on, yes, basically. And Drop D works, but this style is usually in C B or A

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Listen to the bands Dark Tranquillity (They play in Eb, C# and Drop B) and Lamb of God (they play in Drop D, Drop C# and Drop C). They have some really fun to play songs that are interesting to learn in a relatively high tuning. (I mean srsly, Eb is just half step down...)

  • Dude when you gonna play with your own band ? -_-

  • @BAKROLAQI I have when my band was full lol...gotta find new people and get our EP finished.

  • I'm really not into thjat kind of music, but i can tell that you are a raelly creative guitarrist :)

  • It's awesome!

Only one recommendation: try using something else than EZDrummer for drums. Its sound it's so easy to recognise it doesn't sound natural anymore.

  • @VocalDomain I have way better drums now, listen to my Separate Ways cover I posted recently, although I still use some cymbals that I like from dkfh. Thanks!

  • Awesome. THe black metal-ish part mixed with metalcore breakdown :) nice \m/

  • 00:29 is where super badass kicks. To be honest I love this whole song but I feel maybe the opening should be change. but once again I love this music. it makes me wanna scream.

  • 1:09 Yeah Drop It Down :D

  • @sL4UgHtA Yup!! haha

  • Cool. I tried it though and it was kinda hard. x.x Want to do a second video and post like tabs in the video? Thanks if you can do that. I just can't get the hang of melodic death metal. I don't want to do hardcore or metalcore, too popular over here.

  • Cool. So for this one on the lead you are basically just doing power chords but then adding lead parts within the power chords? I might experiment with this.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Exactly

  • this is what triviums new album should hav sounded like ;)

  • sounds good and i like the editing too

  • @RyanAbbott1000 Thanks, glad you like!

  • Wow. This is amazing. My friend and my niece, both aspiring guitarists, should really watch it. Love the melody.

  • 'i am batman' xD

    dude, your just amazing!

    great job!

    i subscribed and liked ;D

  • 1:00 seems so black metal, and amazing

  • @goku413 Thanks! Yeah people on facebook wanted me to do different stuff, so in this video I fused melo death with black metal and metalcore, all in order. lol

  • OMFG i love the part from 0:27 on, its just so dam melodic, i mean dam ur talented

    great work

  • Sick!

  • i honestly dont know why your not famous yet

  • @chrislikestoskate14 Because my band doesn't play shows or have a finished album yet lol

  • I'm not even THAT interested in riffs etc. but I know the reason I won't unsubscribe to you :D Nice work!!

  • Great stuff!

  • My god you are awesome.

  • @Surralis haha thank you!

  • That was freaking awesome, thanks for adding me as friend, I always enjoy watching original songs from youtube users, they're usually far better than most bands (and this is definitly the case)!

  • @Beriol9 You're welcome, and thanks a lot!

  • for that alternate picking riff, what are the frets? i tried figuring it out but it was trickey coz i couldnt rly see, aha

  • @Ork517 Hmm, let me get my guitar...

    Drop B tuning..

    2nd string (F#) the frets are 15-17-18-15-17-18-15-17-20-18-17-18-18-17-15-17

    3rd string (B) the frets are 13-15-17-13-15-17-13-15-18-17-15-17-17-15-13-15

  • @ChromeCelica00 ahh <3 thanks man, i had it so close, only a couple frets off, aha, thanks so much, btw, ur vids are amazing and so is your style of playing, you've really gotten me into this kind of melodic metal, before i was just listening to hardcore and metalcore but you've just help me add to my music interests <3!

  • @ChromeCelica00 I'M BATMAN!!! that was quite hilarious when you dropped in tuning and it said that. and you are a great guitar player too. I play guitar myself. and I love playing metal just like you do. I have a couple of videos on my channel of me playing, and more will be coming

  • @tjvayne haha, yeah that I'm batman part was added later on, I figured it was appropriate since the synth part is an old batman theme lol. Great man, keep metal alive!

  • lol @ 1:09

  • @tjvayne haha glad you like that part =)

  • You just made my night, good sir. Thank you.

  • @Sheebus666 I'm happy I did! You're welcome, kind sir!

  • SO F*CKING METAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • 0:56 commence windmill \m/

  • @Bostonbird733 And windmill you did!

  • Awesome job, my good sir.

  • Is that a Schecter?

  • @AngeliCarmina Yup, C-1 Hellraiser

  • sick song man .......keep up the good work

  • great work..dude \m/

  • Really nice! Well done.

  • 0:28 is where my head started nodding... great playing.. my picking hand doesnt do what its told.. lol.. hopefully i'll be able to bang out riffs like that soon

  • Awesome as usual and this goes well with this mornings thunderstorm.

  • No problem man. Always enjoy some awesome guitar rifts!

  • :) keep up the good work man!

  • @InventerX Thanks! =)

  • Sick shit man!!!!!

  • Very awsome man love it

  • your old guitar is staring at you from outside, full of jealousy.."SOON" lmao..great vid :)

  • Comment removed

  • you are just freakin amazing. hows the band goin?

  • @ZeRelius Eh, on and off...trying to finish studio stuff, but we're getting stuff done!

  • I love your playing....

    Just Epic <3

  • u should make a full length song with vocals :3

  • wow dude, i knew i subbed for a good reason, i love all off ur vids, i watched them all like 15times or so, i even have some of those on my ipod touch, i keep looking at them, i just love ur vids ;D

  • Dude this just sounds great! Maybe even better then some of the popular bands

  • fuck yeah \m/

  • I.. I just want to see you live one fcking day!

  • love it mate

  • This is amazing!

  • realy good

  • Again I can only say that the guitar parts are great and sound great, but the drums are very bad. No sign of a kickdrum and the snare is just too harmless. Also the bass is like non-existent. To me it's a pity, but in order to get the fame you deserve, you need to learn mixing. I recommend you to get in touch with fearedse , he is one hell of a sound engineer.

  • Well put together.

  • 0:56 Brutal!!

  • bad ass as usual Chrome.... and to the guy who said your picking was like a girl....stick to beating your sandbags on your gay video game and leave the guitar playing to the men, lol OR....wait for it........post YOUR manly guitar playing skills instead of whacking sandbags, lmao

  • i liked your playing when i started playing guitar, a few years later i still do :)

  • subbing

  • Opeth influence? Sounds good.

  • :28 Holy sheet that sounded amazing! Perfect harmonies.

  • I always like and favorite your videos. Your style of playing is one of my favorites, great job and keep 'em comin.

  • @deadGRENADER You're an awesome fan, thank you =)

  • ^^ Slow motion Headbanging ; ) seriously, good song truly

  • good job bro in flames we trust

  • @SealofApproval105 Thanks =)

  • :56 - 1:38 -- what the fukk im talkin about haha

  • @Bostonbird733 Glad you like! Yeah it's a whole new feeling from the other part, lol

  • @ChromeCelica00 its my kinda feeling haha ive listened to it about 5 times now. then i clicked favorite haha

  • So good I felt weak in the knees. No one rocks my world like you. ^_~

  • @gripmyhips Thanks cutie ;)

  • ooooooooma gawd, nice job bro, I LOVE IT @ 0:30 keep it up ill spread the word :D

  • Slim Shady

  • Uhm...I really freaking enjoyed this good sir. Started out a little slow for me but once your crazy downtuning of the string came in it was sooooooo EPIC! ARRRG! I love it!

  • @Skullcrusher1 Thanks Duuuude!

  • Nice. I can see you and In Flames jamming in the future, same with Arch Enemy because they are very melodic death metal based.

  • @jedimastergarcia87 Wouldn't that be amazing, thanks for the awesome comment!

  • @ChromeCelica00 can i have guitar lessons? :D

  • You understand the Melodeath style very well. Excellent!

  • siiiick. i dont get to check out your vids very often but when i do i always get a good vibe from these arrangments. keep it up

  • When you write music, is it written for 2 guitarists or 3? I write mine for 3, and 1 bassist. In my case, 2 leads play the same thing to add more depth to the riff, or add harmony to it.

  • @taxi911 I write for 3, there are 3 guitarists in Deadtide if you haven't seen us play before in some of my vids like my Chronolapse practice.

  • @ChromeCelica00

That's awesome, what goes through your mind when you write for 3 guitarists? I do too, so I'd like to know what other people think when they write for more than 2 guitarists.

  • @taxi911 I just try to make everything work for everyone who's going to play them, and I just aim to have the most full sound on stage. Without a third guitarist, things just wouldn't sound the same live, kind of like how In Flames needs to settle on stage because they have a lot of 3 guitar parts.

  • @ChromeCelica00

I don't know about live performances at all (I just sit home and make stuff :-D).

I write for 3 people too, in my mind, 2 for leads adds more depth to the leads and then one can harmonize without disturbing the rhythmic part (played by a 3rd guitarist), and rhythms and bass is almost the same (and I keep bass lines somewhat simple so I can do vocals and bass at the same time - same for rhtyhms).

  • This was well executed

  • How the fuck do u have people hating on you man .. ohh wait they liosten to Pop music thats why :D keep on rockin Man

  • bahahaha! love the tuning scene

  • you're getting better dood keep it up!

  • What kind of guitar is that?

  • @SlayerDeth1981 Schecter C-1 Hellraiser

  • Awesome video dude!

  • This is really awesome :D

  • Good stuff...

  • 1:08

I kind of exploded laughing :D

  • That was awesome. The first riff has such strange sounding harmonies in it which is great since it adds a lot of uniqueness to it. Plus I love the sound of the second riff it has really good movement and drive throughout the whole part. Plus it made me laugh like an idiot when you did your little downtuning part that was pure genius.

  • @fallensalvation Thanks for the great comment! Yeah the intro you either like or don't like, not too many people are fond of it, but it stands out and I like it, so whatever, I'm glad you do too!

  • Good stuff bro. I think your stuff is getting and sounding better.

  • Good work broski!

  • you have a serious talent for this man!

  • Bad ass

  • duuuude

when will we get FULL songs??

or is there a place to find them?

  • @callofgears91 Have you seen my full composition I posted in my videos? And also, I'm working on finishing my band's EP, so you can check our rough stuff for now, link in the info

  • inflames tshirt yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome riff man! as always lol

  • Awesome! >D

  • liking it man :)

  • That was awesome :) don't listen to the haters

  • @stuum93 Thanks, it happens, you win some you lose some.

  • Melodic death metal, metal core, death core, Black metal...Wheres the Thrash?

  • @PoliticalDestruction thrash is the root genre of all four of what you just named... so technically it IS in there.

  • @TheMetalHeaD256 Nope unless it is there without a subgenre, it is not there...and it is my obligation to hate any subgenre influenced by thrash, don't you know the 101 rules of thrash metal?

  • Its ok, but everything is still sounding really processed and doesnt have much warmth to the overall compsiting of the songs. I think you should focus on getting each full songs to sound overall professional...

  • @MartyHITD Well, these are 2 separate riffs from the past that I did, just jammed together. I try my best with everything I do, but in the end, I'm just having fun recording whatever I feel at the time, trying to get the best sound I can with my new equipment. I can only do what I can do, there will always be something that everyone will disagree with. Thanks for your input!

  • Nice after 0.30, but the intro riff isn't there man...

  • @dimgrav Not too many people liked the intro from my old video, but I think it's different and you're not expecting the kind of weird following of notes/harmonies that I do. Oh well haha

  • awesome as always :D

  • I didn't know Carlos Condit could shred so hard.

  • @Habbitwilldevil what do you mean?

  • @ChromeCelica00

By the looks of it, this man is suffering from the recent punctuation shortage. Damned grammar recession! I blame the schools.

  • You pick like a girl in the intro, and later you only use your elbow for tremolo picking...

    that's wierd

  • @ThaThing1337x I was getting into the tremolo picking part, what's wrong with showing a little more harshness when playing it...and sorry my picking isn't manly enough for you, wtf...lol

  • @ChromeCelica00 WTF dude i've been watching your videos almost since the begining and i really like your paying, but i have to say something that pisses me off in you... Why the fuck do you answer mostly whenever a comment is not so positive? If you don't like critiques just don't post your videos. You have issues man!

  • @xalalalala Because they were the first comments on the video. How do I have issues for responding to not so great comments? I try to respond to everyone on here, but it would take me forever. Please don't take it the wrong way. Sometimes I just like to find out why someone disliked, so I can better myself for next time. But in some cases, yeah the people just like to hate. I take pride in what I upload, I will not stop because someone does not like what they hear. Take it easy man! haha

  • @ThaThing1337x His right hand technique is actually pretty smooth. not to mention it doesn't matter what it looks like. It sounds good to the ears, and you troll like a girl.... that's gay.

  • @iRunLikeSonic

People call others gay to hide ther own sexual preference.

By the way, using only the elbow when tremolo picking isn't smart, it's way more exhausting than it needs to be.

  • @ThaThing1337x Your mama told you that, huh.... Ok, 'smart' guy, post a vid of yourself. Spare your opnions.

  • @iRunLikeSonic What?

I have no recording devices at the moment, or else I would love to record some covers.

And if you thought anything else; I do actually think this song is very cool. And this guy is obviously good at mixing, and have nice creativity.

His playing is smooth, but all the motion going on in the tremolo picking isn't really neccesary. Stil, he should of course play as he wants, but it's juat an advice.

  • @ThaThing1337x I appreciate your advice! I was just saying that I purposely went a little apeshit with the tremolo picking for the feeling of the song haha

  • nice work

  • 1:09 HxCx dance time!

  • awesome as always

  • i read the title wrong twice, first i thought it said lost in somalia, i was like o.O, then i saw it as lost insomnia. My eyes are raping me.

  • Brutal.

  • good stuff :)

  • i loled when you tuned down your guitar strings

  • @patrick1020000 Good! hah

  • i have the same shirt! good work!

  • aye
