Peace to all! Let us each respect each others rights to opinions. Here's mine. I was in high school in '69. NOT ALL OF US "clean hippies" behaved as portrayed in this HORRIBLE movie. We had "real" lives & didn't just drag around, drugged up, looking for mindless animal sex constantly using that dehumanizing "F" word. The plodding script fails to demonstrate all the coincidental circumstances that meshed to create this legendary event. Not for children; already tossed my copy. . .
@mjcamck71 granted i did not get to experiance this, unfortunately... but i just watched the movie.. and i didnt hear one "F" word.. unless im listening for the wrong "F" word... lol... as for the drugs.. there was a lot less drug usage in the film than i expected... everything that ive read or seen about woodstock had a lot of drug content in it.. this was actually the least drug oriented film ive seen.. and i no for a fact there was no beastiality in the film.. lol...
@Wrestlefan1 - Hello. You might be confusing "Woodstock" the excellent festival documentary with "Taking Woodstock" a scripted movie w/ actors which was supposed to be about how Michael Lang & partners brought the whole event together. Which are are you referencing? BTW, "animal" sex means without any affection or meaning, not with any kind of "beast." A better descriptive word would have been animalistic. So, are we covering the same film here? Peace & Love, Bread & Justice.
@Wrestlefan1 - Hello. As I said; to each their own. I was a peace/social activist then; not at W. UNLIKE the insulting way we're depicted in this film, we didn't ALL forfeit our time/dignity always ripping our clothes off, mouthing foul language, having meaningless sex & getting stoned. My friends & I volunteered for anti-hunger non-profits, went to school & worked paying jobs. As stated, I respect everyone's right to their own opinion. This is my 2 cents. Peace & Love, Bread & Justice.
@mjcamck71 i wasnt trying to disrespect or insult..in anyway... im just saying everything that ive personally heard about the hippies at woodstock (not all hippies in general), was pretty close to the movie... Except for the everyone being naked part...lol
@Wrestlefan1 the movie was not an accurate representation of woodstock...it's a comedy MOVIE the actual event was MUCH different...trust me, there was a hell of alot of drugs goin around.
@NarutoYaoiFa i agree it was a problem.. but also the plot of the movie wasnt about the concert itself... nor was it supposed to be.. it was a movie about the events that led up to the creation of woodstock.. if you wanna see footage of the concert... there is a movie called woodstock. with actual live footage
@65g4 I dont agree. Its not literally my favorite movie ever but Emile hirsch naked! what more could a girl ask for! haha. thats basically why i liked it so much... and the acid trip scene was pretty rad too!!!
Some of my favorite urban comedies are Coming to America, Car Wash, Friday, The Original Kings of Comedy, the first Nutty Professor...just to name a few :) Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
there goes manny seeing all the good looking movies! lol, seeing this this weekend. i like the "farout" 3 and 1/2 kisses which gives me more enlightment to see the films. great review (as always)

the best sentance to review this movie that i've heard is "it's said if you remember woodstock u weren't there. the same is true for the movie"
so true. was disappointed. it was ...ok. but kinda boring. the lsd part was the best part tho.
wasn't expecting it to be like the documentaries about woodstock, but was expecting more than what i experienced :P

Just saw this and it sucks, more ways than one. Disappointing......no woodstock music..

There's plenty of Woodstock music in it. But it's used as background music.
