  • absolute quality - brings me back to good times in the late 90's. not overplayed either so a freshness to this song!

  • this is the best version of this song ever by miles

  • Mercury Records office meeting, 1998: "So we made this backing track that sounds like EBTG's Missing on a budget of fifty quid, any ideas?" *Loudly snoring record company exec wakes with a start* "Zzzz... *yawn* Bryan Ferry!!... oh sorry, must have nodded off, where were we?" *Room falls silent, execs turn to each other and nod in union* "Brian, you've done it again."

  • i'm not normally a thumbs up begger type of person....but thumbs up of you can still remember some of the steps to this song on dance mat! lol

i was getting ready whilst listening to this and found myself moving from side to side @2:30! i you've got dancing stage and go on it regularly you'l know what i'm on about! ;) lol

  • The version doesn't hold a candle to the original but I do like this version's club sound

  • I commented on this version before, and although I do like the Original, I still feel that Emmie's voice is more tranquil and "haunting", than the Original. Thankyou for posting.

  • @Cinaed42 Seriously? So much for originality. As if Roxy Music fans will agree. Listen to this again and then listen to the original and decide for yourself if they even compare.

  • The original is better by far but I like this version.

  • dance dance revolution 2000!

    Thumbs up?

  • I love this song ans see is the most beautiful person to come out of manchester

  • Emmie`s career went nowhere she got no recognition and now works as a prostitute in the Netherlands.

  • thank you for posting that remix

this is the best remix 4 ever

  • Ohhh my childhood. Good times! :D

  • I used to master this on the dance mat =P

  • classic late 90's dance...miss those days immensely...travelling back to my uni halls after a weekend back home..heard on this on the sunday chart show on radio walkman, great memories.

  • shes talks shit

  • we all miss the 90s!!!!

  • this song reminds me of my ex husband :0/

  • lmaoo she has my namee ;O

  • what happend to her?

    one hit wonder?

  • i so miss the 90's Who agree's?

  • super!!!!!!

  • i miss the 90s

  • I've been searching for this tune for a while! At last here it is! Good beat, good tune brings back fond memories

  • Very nice reimagining of a classic song.

  • Woow My Name Is Emmie :)

  • my name is emmie :P

  • @MIssMushyMellow

hello emmie, like the name :) xxx

  • oldie but goldie.

  • Mikser mate! She aint no new artist lol this version of the track is 12 years old

  • she has the same name as me xDD

  • Once again a perfectly good song is made into shite. Why can't these new artists come up with their own material? Or at least produce something worthy of the original? The 80's being pillaged again. There is only one More than this..Watch ROXY MUSIC. Enough said.

  • she is known under another name indien she had a big dance hit called show me love

  • <3 this song, :D

  • Great tune so mellow

  • found this song in less then 5 mins of my sister askin what song it was i used 2 blast, cudnt think of the title, and i thought she was called emily, ah the wonders of google and youtube, this song is gonna be blasted this summer again, a good tune like this never dies, and what the hell happened 2 her?? was she a one hit wonder or did she do other songs aswell.??

  • Whatever happened to Emmie?

    I liked her!

  • i could listen to this again and again, it's so soothing and love her words...

  • Everytime I hear this.. All I think of is the DANCE MAT on the playstation (1) HAHAH. When I was like 10. I was an 'expert' on dancing to this on the dance mat. Brings back memoriess x

  • OMGGGG same i had the dance mat on ps1 aswell n i loved this song was my 1st pik x

  • I have been after this song to download for years and unable to find it. Fantastic song

  • my fave versions of this sond

    1. emmie

    2. roxy music

    3. 10000 maniacs

norah jones' version is appalling and an insult to brian ferry. this version enhances the original and makes it appeal to the younger crowd.

  • Doesn't appeal to me at all. The original is still the best. This one just has a generic dance beat over it

  • @ Onderon101

Ferry wrote his 'version' tho ......

  • My name is Emmie :D

  • some songs just stay running in your mind

  • Excellent remake!

  • when an artist makes a cover also takes a risk because WE WILL COMPARE,anyway most of the times i stay with the original, one exception comes to my mind right now how high the moon with lola albright.

  • great tune this,

the amount of times i played this on my headphones on a long train journey from aberystwyth to shrewsbury to liverpool,

and then back to from liverpool to shrewsbury to aberystwyth 2 days later,

    ahhhhh 1999 to 2000,

things you do when u miss the 1 u love,

    over now though.

  • swear you've put this comment on other good trance/dance vids aswell. =)

  • blah blah blah harjesh

  • This song is like rapture...it's wicked...what's happened to the music now

  • dance music died when e's did, thats what happened. sad

  • there's a more than this version done by 10,000 maniacs also

  • and roxy :)

  • Braccia rubate all'agricoltura. O,volendo, altre parti anatomiche rubate alla strada...

  • thanks for putting this up i'v been looking for this version for ages i thought her name was emilia probably why i couldn;t find it

  • As people have said, this is a product of its era, the 90s. For me it brings back very happy memories of a good time so I love it. For some the original by Bryan Ferry will bring back memories. I just think he mumbles it though, lol.

  • hey guess what! my name is emmie too. And its not a nickname either. we should start a club

  • great track.plus emmie is beautiful, wonder what shes up to these days

  • This is as "Free as the Wind".....

    Love this Tune babe

    xxx

  • You call this "soul"?? LOL!!

I'm afraid you don't know what music is my friend. Here is "lesson 1":

Debbie Harry sings "More Than This"

    watch?v=woDb-3dYGz0

  • You like rock style, i understand but EMMIE version is awesome for house, deep house, chillout lovers.

    WE LOVE IT anyway......

  • This version is more techno:

    watch?v=hnR5AF73zyQ

  • You people are all nuts.. this chick made a timeless classic tune sound like some cheap 90s techno that should be played in tanning salons. And you are all saying it's "the best version" and giving it 5 star ratings.

What a freaking joke, you all suck.

  • You dont know what soul is. What music is. This is not techno. This is lesson 1.

  • So glad to have found this again.

  • what a woman.anyone know what she up to these days

  • She reminds me of Emma Bunton from spice girls...

  • the best version of all:)))

  • yes it iz :)...

  • Totally agree

  • I was looking for this song for AGES! i love it

  • anyone remember another song by emmie, think it was called I thought it was you? cant find it anywhere!

  • I thought i was you was not by Emmie, that's why you can't find it. She was a one hit wonder. The song you mentioned is by Sex-o-sonic and was a big dance smash and a No32 hit in 1997.

  • I love this tune... its better than the original

  • Are you crazy, this is fucking euro techno crap that guidos listen to while riding in their Mustangs. You're dreaming, pull your head out of your ass.

  • Agreed, so bad...

  • @jojoy01

It's nothing like the original. But then again that's not a good thing. Roxy Music version shits all over this one.

  • @jojoy01 Oh puh-leease! :-\

This is a decent cover, but it doesn't get anywhere near the original - it's just a rip off of Everything But The Girls hit 'Missing'.

  • @jojoy01 You are WRONG...lol

  • @GhostsInMyAttic Lol Ok I admit I was wrong, it isnt better but you still gotta like it. I do x

  • @jojoy01 I never set out to demean you or be an A Hole you have your opinion and that`s okay with me =]

  • I think this version is the best by far, Never knew there were any other versions, Only knew about this song cos it was on the dance mat. Shows Emmie deserves more fame.

  • @tiffanyblues ...dance mat favourite ;-)

  • Kuuuurwa czemu teraz takich piosenek nie robią! Eurodance roxxxx!!!

  • had this on cd about nine years back great dance version

  • So 90s, so brilliant!

  • Anyone looking for this song, will find it on NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL MUSIC 42

  • Sweet, i've been looking for this song for 10 years.

  • my mm likes so i play it 4 her lol { :: }

  • How many times can this song be remade? Even Blondie did it back in 1980!

If you like the song, at least look up Roxy Music's original version (or look up Brian Ferry)

  • Would have been tough for Blondie to cover it in 1980 considering Roxy Music released it in 1982 (the Avalon LP). Blondie's cover came out in just the past two or three years. It's worth a listen, but too bad Blondie didn't reach back further into Roxy's earlier work...imagine Debbie Harry doing "Editions of You."

  • i love this track i got it on my danc emat!

  • dance mat*

  • I love this, didnt know there was a video!

  • fabulous song!!!

  • 1999 - fuckin amazing tune, backin the glory days

  • no way - 1999 this came out? i feel sooooooo old!!!!

  • What a brill version of a great song. Takes me back!!!

  • I love this song does anyone know wherei can get this on mysoace music and what is her second name???

  • Her name is Emma Morton-Smith. She's not involved in music anymore.

  • You'll get the CD single on ebay and loads of 2nd hand record shops in Soho, London or Vinyl Exchange in Manchester. She released this single in January 1999. Although it made No5 she was dropped by Mercury after it's release for several reasons. Previous to this she provided uncredited vocals to DJ Flava "Your Caress (all I need)" which made No19 in 1997. Following this she was a featured artist on a few other dance tracks & supported Ronan Keating on some UK gigs but had no more success.

  • This is a fantastic version. Emmie, wherever she may be these days, can be proud of her effort.

Very underrated but it's a beautiful track.

I don't mind the original Roxy Music version, but this remix and update was done with style and respect to the original.

I also have some fond memories of this period in my life. It was bitter sweet, I started a new career but shortly after, lost my beloved mother.

This track has all my memories encapsulated...there's nothing more than this!

  • i have the best memories of my life from this period and from this song! Great tune!

  • propa 90's luvs it!

  • does anyone know what the ambient remix of this song is called, this sounds to much like EBTG-Missing

  • I have so many years to see this clip.

    More than this 99.

  • this song rocks :D.. reminds me of the 90's

  • Have'nt seen or heard this in ages,I like the original but I like this better!

  • very nice and lovely song :)

  • This cover version is my favourite, i never liked the original.

Love this melodic 90s genre style.

  • The music is great and was perfect for the time it came out. It sounds a bit weak now but most throw-away music doesn't age that well.

  • hieeee... thanks so much for sharing these videos... been looking for the tiles and arists for such a long time!!! thanks
